My Magical Journey to Running the Half Marathon TR Link! p.107

GREAT Shirt! :thumbsup2 so glad you were able to get it in your size...it will be such a motivator till the run and a great reminder of all you accomplished when you are done :goodvibes

I'll have to look into that Garmin thingee.

Way to keep pluggin' away at your running! I haven't been good about running lately because of the heat and humidity.

If it wasn't for my treadmill, I wouldn't have run at all this summer. Our temps have calmed down the past couple of weeks, thankfully. As long as I get out in the morning, I'm good.

I'm very excited to get it!

Congrats on the outdoor run! And I love, love, love the shirt!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Amy. I'm so excited they finally restocked the sizes! :woohoo:

The shirt is super cute!!!

Isn't it? Can't wait to see it in person. :thumbsup2

It's been a great workout week so far! :cool1: I've also started to lose weight again now that I've buckled down and gotten serious about working out (and watching what I eat). :thumbsup2 I've now lost a total of 25 pounds since January. Only 5 more pounds to reach one of my goals for this year! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yesterday I received some Disney mail! My new shirt arrived and I love it!

This is what my workout schedule has been this week:

Monday - 6 miles (25 minutes) on the stationary bike

Tuesday - 2.2 miles (30 minutes) on the treadmill (13:38 pace) and 100 crunches

Wednesday - off

Thursday - 2.18 miles (30 minutes) on the treadmill (13:45 pace)

Friday - I'll be doing a workout with the wii Active. It's been a while since I've tortured myself with lunges and squats. :rolleyes1

Saturday - 3 mile run scheduled outside - Think I might try the boardwalk where my 5k and 10k will be run. (Normally my long runs will be on Sundays, but Chuck has to work this Sunday so if I want to run outside, it has to be Saturday.) Oh! And my Garmin Forerunner also arrived so I can try it out on this run!

Sunday - off

That is what my training schedule will look like for the most part. My workout times and distances will change, but the rest should stay about the same.

It's also getting close to the time that I need to start looking into more gear. I need to get some sort of belt for carrying water during my long runs and try out some different fuel options. I'll keep you posted.

Carissa-
Your schedule looks good! I haven't been to the gym since May (UGH!) Once Juliana starts back up with school in 2 weeks I will be going 3 days a week. You look great BTW!:goodvibes

carissa you look awesome and I love the shirt. Your training plans look great. Good luck with your training this week.

Take care!

Love that shirt! Makes me want to get one too, but I don't need another running shirt:rolleyes1 Great job with the training! Running is so much easier when you're consistent. I think you're going to love your Garmin. Can't wait to get a report. As far as hydration belts, I use the Fuel Belt and it's been great. I have one of the old classic styles and the pocket on it is big enough to fit my camera during the races which is great. Though the newer ones come in much cooler colors:)

Thanks Tim :goodvibes That's why we bought the treadmill. I knew with Chuck being gone all of the time and me homeschooling, I'd have no way to get out and run or hit the gym. I may hate having this huge, bulky treadmill in my living room, but I'm so glad I have it. :thumbsup2

It looks like Fuel Belt is the brand? Does yours just carry one bottle? I think that's all I need to have.

Congratulations on the weight loss :goodvibes and Disney mail! :cool1:

Thansk MeMom :)

Carissa, you look fabulous!! Great job!

Kathy

Thanks Kathy!

You look great and I love the shirt! Fantastic about being so close to your goal.

Thanks Melissa :) It's just my first weight loss goal of 30 pounds. I still have another 20 pounds or so after that to reach my target weight. But, reaching 30 pounds was/is the most important one for me. :thumbsup2

Thanks :goodvibes
I'll let you know. Have you read any marathon books? I've read a few. I find books about running very motivating.
I do the same thing. I read Jeff Galloways half marathon book (I had read his running for women and running for beginners (forget what it is called) when I first started to run but before I was in training mode. I have also read the Marathon for mortals and am now reading running for mortals.

Congrats on the weight loss. You look amazing.
That shirt is so cute. I can't wait for the princess half training shirts to go on sale.
I have not run with a water bottle in a while (I probably will have to start again as my mileage increases.
I have seen alot of people running with these type of hydration belts.. They look like they didn't annoy the runner. My problem is I run with my iphone. I use it as an ipod and I use runkeeper to track my distance and time so I know my pace and speed.
I got an armpocket to hold my iphone.

I have also heard good things about the spibelt.

The Fuel Belt bottles are only 8 ounces. I have the belt with 4 bottles so tht is 32 ounces. I don't use all 4 bottles on every run, but I use them all when I do the 8-10 mile runs. I like them because I just drink a bottle every 2 miles or so and I can alternate between water and gatorade. When I do longer runs I like to have gatorade for fueling. I also like the smaller bottles because I don't have to think about how much to drink or worry about saving water until the end. I just drink one bottle at a time. Another one of those things you have to figure out what works for you.

This is why I love having you here, Jenny! You make some very good points that I would never have thought about.

You look fabulous! Love the shirt!!!

Amanda

Thanks! :goodvibes

You're looking great! Nice training schedule too, I've been trying to figure out something that will work for DH and me with both our schedules.

Hurray for being back on your training schedule and the shirt looks great on you!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Jackie - feels good to be consistent with running. :thumbsup2

Hope you're able to figure something out. My husband and I don't run together at this point, but he has a hard time trying to fit in workouts. I told him he just needs to come up with a plan or he'll keep putting it off.
