My Magical Journey to Running the Half Marathon TR Link! p.107

Morning, Karen! We mailed our Valentine's Day package to Chuck early and he's already received it. I had decorated the inside of the box and it was very PINK. :rotfl: He didn't mind and when I asked if any of the guys saw it and made fun of him, he said nope. Some seemed jealous. ;)

AWESOME!!! I think this project with the Valentine's was as exciting for the kiddos and you to make and send off to Dad/Chuck, as it was for him to receive them!!

I am not sure if you posted this or not, Carissa, but do you eat before you w/o in the morning?
There are some days that I do not eat until after my w/o and other days that I eat before I go (which is just a dish of cereal).
I wonder what all the posters on your thread think about eating and working out??? :confused3

I live that your workout went so well today even though you weren't feeling great.

Our utility bills are so outrageous that I do not turn the heat up during the day...I've been known to sit around with a parka. Our house is insulated just fine but the utility rates are obscene. It was a lot worse in my old house, I ended up having to get all new windows at that house after I received a 1K gas bill!

I was excited too! :cool1:

Our townhouse is only 1400/1500 sq. ft. so it really shouldn't cost that much to heat. I've given up trying to keep the bill down since it doesn't seem to matter.

Keep it up Carissa! :thumbsup2

I'm a strong believer in eating before a workout. How else will you have fuel to keep you going? I think the main concensus is to eat something about an hour before you workout. What and how much depends on each individual. I have always been a breakfast eater. My small bowl of oatmeal or smoothie works great for me. After my workout and shower I usually have a handful of raw almonds. :thumbsup2

Good morning!!

I was thinking about you this evening (it's evening here) as I did my rinky dinky little workout. DH got home after being gone 3 weeks and brought my stayball, and a Line Dancing workout video. HA!! It's fun, but I think I'll like it better when I learn the steps better. It did get my heart rate up, which is a very good thing.

:thumbsup2

I have 5 read X's on my calendar now. They make me feel good! I will be turning 4 next week, and might move up to stickers. :lmao::lmao:

:rotfl: Stickers are fun! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about learning the steps and it being more fun then. I used to do the Walk Away the Pounds workouts when I lived in Australia. This was in addition to my daily one hour walks. My favorite was a walk and kick, which incorporated some kick boxing moves. I loved doing that one once I had everything down.

I wonder if this is in the same series...???

This is in the Dance Away the Inches series? I know nothing about them, just reading what it says at the top of the box.

The Walk Away the Pounds is by Leslie Sansone. I don't think they're put out by the same person. Sounds fun though!

:thumbsup2 Doing great Carissa. It's been cold and/or wet here so I haven't run since Monday. Which I had started week 2 and did ok with it. Hopefully this is it for our cold weather.

Glad Chuck received his Valentine's box, and fantastic that he got it early. I'm sure a lot of the guys were jealous.

This house has been cold. The problem with having high ceilings is all the heat rising. I know we could switch the fans, but go back to the high ceilings. It would require getting the big ladder out, and then with our crazy weather, changing them all back again in a couple of days.

Hope you and the boys have a great weekend!!!!

Thanks Melissa - hope the weather improves and you can get back out there soon! :thumbsup2

Today I received a special delivery. Even sailors deployed out in the gulf can send flowers to their loved ones back home.

I am very blessed to have such a wonderful, thoughtful, and supportive husband. :lovestruc He repeatedly thanks me for being home with the boys while he is away and tells me how much he appreciates all that I do. He recently told me that when he gets home he wants to send me to a spa for the day to have the works. :goodvibes He is my best friend and the one person in this world who is always there for me no matter what.

A very Happy Valentine's Day to all of you. I know many people think Valentine's Day is just a way for Hallmark to make more money. But, I don't think there's anything wrong with encouraging us to take this day and tell our loved ones just how much they mean to us.

Beautiful flowers and I couldn't agree more, nothing wrong with a little reminder to tell the ones you love, just now much you do!

I personally feel like I do better without eating.

When I started running, I would get up early and do it, first thing. I never had any problems cramping up. After daylight savings time ended, I began running in the evening, around 9 p.m. That was the first time I ever got cramps running. I think it had to be because I had eaten dinner a few hours before. That's the only thing I can think of that would have made the difference.

There is noting ever wrong with telling the people we love how much they mean to us! We should do it more often.

Have a wonderful Valentine's day with your sweet children! :goodvibes

So pretty. What a great guy! You are both blessed to have each other and your awesome boys. :)
