MY MAGIC PLUS---Good idea?

Just received a phone call from Disney offering to allow me and my family to be "testers" for the My Magic+ program. We are arriving August 2, staying at the Contemporary, and my understanding is that this offer has gone out to some guests staying at certain resorts. I'm confused about whether or not to accept the offer. My family includes me, my husband, son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters, who are 8 and 6 years old. This is the children's first visit to Disney World. I understand that Fast Pass+, which is part of this offer, is limited to 3 Fast Passes in one park per day, but that we can still park hop with our park hopper tickets, and get regular fast passes in the other parks, if they are available. I guess the advantage is being able to schedule Fast Passes for rides, Wishes/Illumintions viewing, and other events or shows before we arrive in Disney, but I'm not sure I want to do all that minute to minute planning. We do have our dinner reservations set up, and I'm good with that. But I don't think Disney should be this much work. I guess my question is...has anyone been a "tester" for MY MAGIC PLUS in July of this year? If so, is it worth it? Also, has the system been perfected, or are there still major glitches to be worked out? Thanks for your help!
