My Little Princess is Turning 8 trip report. Completed

Nice pictures. I'm enjoying the report. When I see your Spectro and Wishes pictures, I'll know we were watching those exact same ones, just from a different spot!

I like the birthday cake, too. All of my third grade girls would be excited to have gotten one of those.

Your juke box picture cuts off just short of where we were this summer. Facing the jukebox from the steps of the pool, we were to the left on the bottom floor. We had the fourth and fifth rooms down. It was great for being able to go back and forth from the pool to the room easily. The kids all loved that we were right at the pool, and noise was never a factor.

I will look forward to many more good pictures and stories.

Oh yeah, I agree about too much food in the Primetime chicken dinner. Good, but too much chicken! I was glad I didn't get fussed at for not eating it all, because there was no way that was going to happen!

Hey Nichole,

Sorry about the cruise...maybe another time. We liked CBR. It was nice - very large, but nice. We really didnt spend too much time there. The rooms were nice (largest of the mod's I believe). I have stayed at POR and POFQ in the past - they too were nice. I think next time, we might try CSR, just to have done all the mods, who knows? I am sure which ever you choose, you will like. After all, it is all Disney, right? :)

Looking forward to the birthday update & the DREAM :)

Cathy

I'm sure we will have fun no matter where we stay. But I do really want to go back to WL :cloud9: . DH is being cheap :rolleyes1 and doesn't want to spend 4$500 more. He stayed there before twice and loved it :confused3 . Hopefully we will cruise in fall of 2009.

Anyway I think CSR looks nice too but I'm leaning towards POFQ because I would be annoyed if they put me in Rancho's at CSR. I will have and update tomorrow.

Hi Memom :)
We didn't even end up watching spectro or wishes since it was so packed. We used our a few FP's then left. So I have no pics this trip. I have both bck on the list for next time though ;) . Glad you liked 50's PT too. That was a huge plate of chicken and unfortunately I got picked on, but Kaylee loved it :lmao: . I loved our room at Pop and would pick that section again :thumbsup2 . I didn't have any noise issues coming from the pool either. But we did have annoying neighbors possibly a kid group, that came in after 1 am and were very loud for over and hour on two of our nights. We liked Pop thoug hand I'm glad we tried it. My DS liked it better than Poly  . So does our bank account.

Hey Nichole! I didn't know you had started this! I better get to reading! Can't wait to hear all about your trip! I just wanted to let you know I found ya!

Hi Monica,
Glad you found me :goodvibes . You don't have much to catch up on yet. Just 2 installments. Hey I clicked on your ticker. Why do they keep dissapearing??

Just caught up and really enjoying your TR. We have stayed at both CSR and WL. CSR is fabby and we'd love to stay there again sometime but I can understand your draw to WL...I'd definately be trying everything in my power to persuade him toward this if I were you;)

This trip report sounds like so much fun! What a great birthday for a little girl :)

Hi 2ScottishPrincesses,
Welcome back and tahnks for reading!
Guess what?? Tom agreed to WL this morning  , he knows I really want to go there. But now I feel bad like we should be saving that money for other things. So I might just switch to POFQ. I just love WL though and am having a tough time. It's more like $600 different and we are supposed to be saving this year. Next year is our 10 year marriage Anniversary so who knows we might cruise or stay at WL or Poly then. It's really hard because my DH just isn't inot Disney and is tired of hearing about :sad2: .

So you really liked CSR? What area did you stay in? I would book there since alot of people compare it to deluxe. I would cry if they put me in Rancho's though, so that is my only hang up with it. Also they are redoing the rooms in October. Decisions Decisions.

Your being very good, if I were in your shoes I would have WL booked quick smart so that DH couldn't change his mind:rotfl:

We stayed at CSR in May 2001 and absolutely loved it, it's got that "oasis of calm" vibe going on that the WL has. We were in Casitas building 5 which looks very far away on the map but the stroll round the lake was lovely and it's also very close to one of the bus stops. CSR is a very beautiful, chilled out resort, the pool if fabby and so is the Pepper Market. We've got a discounted rate lined up for our stay for next year so we're staying split stay BC/Poly but up until we found out we could get that rate DH was all for booking straight away and making it CSR, he loved it that much!!.

Obviously it's all down to personal taste but it def. worked for the McDonald clan:lovestruc If your want I can see if I have any pics of the resort to post but to be honest the ones on CSR thread realy do do it justice:cloud9:

This is my second time typing this day. My stupid computer (HP) decides it needs to shut down.

Day 2 Kaylee's Birthday @ MK!!

We woke to the ound of the wake up call from Stitch. We wished Kaylee a :bday: and gave her the small gift and surprise I had for her. Well other than the trip to Disney anyway. She opened her small gift bag to find some new pins for her Lanyard. I bought her from Ebay a HSM2, Hannah Montana, Princess Jasmine and Cinderella pins. She immediately wanted them on her lanyard. Sorry I didn't take any pics this morning but Tom did take a video. Then she opened her card which was a musical card with Aurora on it. It played "once upon a dream" she used to sing it aolt when she was 3 :sad1: . Inside was a invite that I had Tom make for Kaylee. I can't find it right now but I will look for it and take a picture of it. It said that Princess Kaylee would be getting pampered at Bibbity Bobbity Boutique for her Bday! She was very excited! She was trying to ruin this surprise for over a month. She peeked in my planning notes and everything.

We had a quick breakfast and got ready and took the bus to MK. We arrived right on time. I didn't get great empty park pics since the park was pretty busy even though it was not open yet. There was a choir group gettting castle pics. I did take a few before heading to BBB though.
Here is kaylee walking ahead towards the castle. I twas chilly this morning.

I checked Kaylee into the Boutique and they took her right in. I don't remember her FGIT names but they were great!! Kaylee picked the Princess style once again. I was hopng she would get a different style other than that severe bun. But she didn't want to so I didn't push the issue. I made Tom and Thomas come and sit since it wasn't busy in there. Of course I had to add nails to her package since she really wanted them painted. Some pics of her getting her makover..

FGMIT made Kaylee close her eyes before she turned her around. She just loves getting any kind of makeover, but the castle is her favorite of course.
They even gave her a birthday banner.

DisneyMarch2008076.jpg

I made sure to tip the FGMIT, before we left. Then we waited in the castle for rope drop in to FL. We wanted to be on the first Dumbo. This morning was crazy and it got really packed in there and there was squishing and shoving  . Normally I would not be this competitive but everyone around me was planning on racing to dumbo and wanted to be first :rolleyes1 so did I! We only had one day in MK and I had lots of FP to get and things to accomplish today. I told Tom it's time to put our getting to Dumbo practice to go use. When the rope dropped everyone was running and Kaylee ran up the exit ramp to Dumbo :lmao: . While I went through the regular line, Of course some snooty rude woman went under all the chains . This I thought was a bit much. I was first if she hadn't cut and cheated  . We were on the first Dumbo though. Thomas loves this ride, Kaylee on the other hand seemed to have and attitude out of nowhere. I told here she better change her tune. I was not happy about this.

After Dumbo we walked quickly over to Peter Pan while snooty woman cut me off right at the line. Her DD's and DH were way behind though :confused3 and she was letting pirate ships go by empty and holding up the line instead of letting anyone by her while she waited for them, I was getting annoyed now and excused ourselves passed her as did others on the line.

Peter Pan is another of Thomas's favorite rides and I wish I rode with him because Kaylee was really not being herself. I said to her isn't this awesome that here riding this on your Bday (like she always wanted to) And she said to me "whatever" with a bit if a attitude. I wanted to throw her into London at this point. How ungrateful and bratty. I stopped talking to her this point and was questioning if I do wayyy too much for her. She was acting just like her very spoiled friend who is wayyy too grown up for her age and I say this all the time that I can't believe the changes in her since they became friends :sad2: . Friend does have a 16 yr. old sister so I do take that into account. Kaylee has never even said the word "whatever" in her life. I was just stunned needlless to say. I think she was just testing me though and didfeel bad about it soon after. I'm not liking this growing up thing much and I certainly don't want anyone helping her grow up faster. Anyway off my soapbox now :goodvibes .

This is where the whole day turns around. When we get off the Peter Pan and go to the exit the dream team is standing there. The Dream team CM told us we all won a dream!! US and everyone behind us won one Dream Fastpasses :yay:  :dance3:!!! I had never even seen the DreamTeam before and now we finally won something. I had Tom take our picture with our Dream Fastpasses on . The sun was very bright though.
DisneyMarch2008082.jpg

We were proud to wear them. Now I didn't have to race around being FPV all day. I could relax knowing that I already had FP's and this did turn the day around for me and Kaylee at least. She was really happy too. We decided to take a ride on the Cindy's Carousel next. The CM took Kaylee right to Cindy's horse, which was very nice.

Then we took a spin on another one of the kids favorites the Tea Cups.

It was nearing time for Toontown to open. I let Kaylee decide what she wanted to do more. Run to barnstormer and hope to ride with Goofy or just have fun and ride that nasty Tomorrowland speedway that they love so much. She choose Toontown and wanted to go visit the Princesses after the ride. Good plan so we line at the rope with a few other nice families. What do you think happens next??

Up Next: A very Magical Moment filled with Pixie Dust!!

Thanks so much for posting that info. I do love the pictures I've seen of CSR. It looks more tropical than PO, so that part is good. If I book WL then DH will want to take a year off from Disney possibly  I'm sure that is what he is thinking. That is mostly why I'm not sure yet. I'm 50/50 right now with WL or a Moderate :confused3 .

Too bad that Kaylee was having an attitude but I am glad the mood got reversed when you met the Dream Team, how fun!

Great update Nichole! What a great way to spend a birthday.

Kaylee looked great with her BBB makeover.

I totally understand what you are saying about the attitude. Sam is usually a very good/polite kid but certainly has her moments. Lately she has this "look" she gives me that is just terribly rude. I'm trying to put a stop to it. I've had to have the "talk" with Samantha more than once in Disney when she gets a little snippy attitude.

Yay on the Dream Fast Passes!! Doesn't that just make your day! I think MK would be the best park for them too.

Can't wait for more! :)

Great update Nichole! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear what happens next! I think I know, but you never can tell with these cliffhangers! :confused3

Sorry about the attitude! :snooty: I'm not looking forward to that part of my kid's growing up! I still just have the "mopeys" to deal with every once and again! Those drive me insane enough as it is - I don't want to even think about how aggrivating the "whatevers" will be! :scared1:

The BBB makeover looks great! What kind of dress is she wearing? It looks very pretty! :goodvibes

Sara

Sounds like a great day:cloud9: . Pity Kaylee chose that morning to test the boundries but hey they all go through it....Becci's just turned 12 and thinks she 16:scared: :rotfl:

Great update !Woohoo for the dream thats great that you didn't have to rush around. I have two daughters and I think that they just like to push and see what they can get away with glad she got in a better mood.

Hi Monica,
Glad you found me :goodvibes . You don't have much to catch up on yet. Just 2 installments. Hey I clicked on your ticker. Why do they keep dissapearing??

I noticed that. Is it just mine or have you noticed it on other peoples? I'm so excited to have another ticker!

Something might have just set Kaylee off and it could have been the feeling of being overwhelmed. Did anyone say anything to her when she went up the wrong way for the dumbo ride? I know when I was that age, we have it on video that exact situation at Universal Studios, all of a sudden I was in a mood. Even today i remember what it was. Not realizing, I went behind the ropes at the flintstones exhibit, and a team member "yelled" at me. I almost cried but I didn't, and for a while I was in a mood because I was embarassed.

Anyway, dream fast passes?? how cool! I cant wait to see the next surprise!!!! HURRY!!!

I think winning the Dream FP's helped alot.

I agree MK was the best with the Dream FP's! This attitude thing makes me upset. Kaylee is usually also very polite and has a really bubbly postive personality. This is the total opposite of my DH :sad2: which probably doesn't help matters. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has had this talk while at Disney. It's supposed to be the happiest place on earth. Samantha seems like such a sweetie too. The worst part is I do get tired eventually of everyone's attitudes and Thomas's meltdowns and I get to have a unmagical moment myself. That is coming on Day 3 :lmao:

Jumping in on the fun & Lovin the TR so far! :) The countdown calendar was adorable. How did your DH make the stroller id's? I think they looked awesome. Looking forward to reading more and I am so happy that you won the FP's. What a nice surprise. Cant wait to read more!
