My little fiasco with Disney yesterday...(LONG)

I would love to be a fly on the check-in desk wall if they don't have your 2 day hoppers all ready for you! In fact do you think you could video tape the encounter?

"New England woman driven MAD at the HAPPIEST place on earth. . .on the next Hard Copy"

Have a great time and be sure to say Hi to the snakes on Indy for me!

Ooooo...what a cool idea! Videotape! :bounce:

Actually, I think I'm going to call them this week and make sure there's something noted on my reservation. I've been putting it off because I keep thinking I'm just going to do another round of what happened before, and I've just been too busy to devote that much time to it again. But I really should...

MaryannDVC,

Being from CA and having stayed at the Grand Californian three times since Feb. and the Disneyland Hotel once since Feb., I thought I'd let you know a couple of things that I have found helpful when checking in (being DVC members).

1) Make sure you have your DVC member card with you and 2) before you leave home make a copy of your reservation slip (or at least make sure you have it with you so they can make a copy), I have needed one or both of these all 4 times I've checked in since Feb.

I think it's because the West Coast CM's generally do not know what DVC is.

Hopefully, you won't even need them, but just in case.....

Other than that, I'll cross my fingers for you that everything works out ticket-wise.

You might even print out a copy of this thread, couldn't hurt.

Great ideas, LuvsWDW and Dean. My card is packed, and I'll definitely take a copy of this. When I get back to my sister's house after 2 days at DL, I'll let you know what happened.

And the countdown begins...11 more days. The suspense is killing me.

It went fine! No problems. :bounce:

DL Hotel was very nice. Had a great view of the DL fireworks. Pool was fun. 2-day hopper was great; got our money's worth, and I have the blisters to prove it (despite the "spraying with deodorant" and "using moleskin" tips! :( )

BTW, I did need my DVC card to check in.

Thanks for the update!! Weren't you pleasantly surprised when you got there? I love it when things actually work after a trying situation.

Uh.. Guys?? I love you all dearly! Really! However, do any of you have a clue what Disney pays??? Most CMs have to work overtime or have a second income to work at wdw. Don't get me wrong its a great place but... well I don't want to go down that road.

Its hard to listen to the Dinsey hold music however if you want more clarification tell them you will hold most CMs at MS will make the phone call to find this stuff out for you. If you don't get one that is willing to help ask for a manager or another CM. However please keep this in mind when you have a wait time on hold, they are helping as many members as possible and trying to give quality service.

I am glad the problem got resolved... but this is exactly why I ask for a certain cast member when I call, I know she will help me get the answer I need and be perfectly blunt with the answer!

Take care.... and try to remember no one is perfect... even Disney Cast Members!

I am very glad for you that this trip went smoothly. That was a good idea about the DVC card and ressie slip. I hope all your trips go this smooth.

What a saga!!! I'm glad it worked out. There's nothing worse than leaving on vacation and not knowing what you're going to meet when you get there! Glad you had a good time!

In a previous life, I managed phone banks, and a phone rep is only as smart as the information they are given. And they can only help you as much as their authority allows.

On the other hand, too much authority in the hands of the front liners can result in unneccesary $$$ losses and inconsistent service, so it is a balancing act.

Overall, I think Disney is better than most, but can always get better.
