Somehow he managed to get himself back to the house and the the door. We saw him laying there and relized his back end was hurt. We took him to the emergency vet hosital (less than a mile away) to get him checked out.
They xrayed his back end and told us he broke his pelvis in 3, maybe 4 places.
We were able to bring him home last night but he goes back to his regular Dr. today.
We can do 1 of 2 things for him. We can have it surgically repaired with pins and plates, but that will cost around $3,000. or put him on bed rest (in a cage) for 4-6 weeks.
So, right now he is home, resting comfortably, in a cage. He seems to be doing OK considering. He's tried to walk a bit (which he shouldn't be doing) so I suppose that is an encouraging sign.
Please keep him in your thoughts. I'm really not ready to lose another kitty right now......
Aside from a little road rash on the face he has no other injuries.
This is a picture of him I posted last week. He's such a sweetie!
Hopefully his regular Dr. will have some more encouraging words for us!
