We go to the local pet store several times a week to look at the stray kitties and hope they get good home. I know it is sad that this is how DH and I get away for a few minutes, lol! Last week we bought catnip. I have never bought it before but have heard about it. I put a tsp. or so in a box and called my 3 kitties over. Wow.....funniest thing I have ever seen. Tom, is the big old male, is sitting there looking very at peace right now in the box. Belle, our skittish all black girl is sitting under the bed, she keeps coming out to get the stuff that has flown out of the box from the other 2 rolling in it! Minnie the newest member of our crew is trying to fit in the box with Tom! Wow, this is better than tv!

I love catnip! Well, my cat does anyway...;)

He will roll over it when I sprinkle it on the carpet. Then he gets all dazed and confused and just spaces out.

I've often worried about my little catnip baggies. They definitely look more like something else.:p

Fresh catnip, straight from the bush is even better. :)

Our three cats love it too. Max our hyper cat spaces out after he's eaten it. Lima the skiddish cat is very mellow afterwards. Kilo the *itch kitty is very friendly after a bit of catnip.
The cosmic catnip works best in our house :teeth:

If you want all 8 of my cats at the same place at once just sprinkle cat nip on the carpet. They love it and all of them roll and lay and eat it. Its so funny!!!!

Right now I see three cats....they are all asleep on their cat trees.

Something else fun is to buy the little plastic eggs this time of year and put cat nip in them. They will go crazy playing to get those eggs open.

Another 'supplier' is born.:p :teeth: I buy it by the tub full. :teeth: It is so messy, when it is nice out I will take Simba and Cali out on the patio and give them each a pile. They eat it and roll in it. Then the neighborhood cats come and visit for the 'leftovers'. Me, Simba, and Cali will sit at the sliding glass door and watch them and hiss and growl at them. :teeth:

My cat Sebastian doesn't really seem to be affected by catnip-- I've heard that not all cats are so I guess he's one of the exceptions.

My old cat Sydney used to LOVE it though. He would take those little burlap sacks of catnip and roll around on them and lick them (yuck). :D Sebastian just sniffs them and walks away.

We buy the soap bubbles with the catnip in it. It's so funny to watch them jumping at the bubbles.

I never heard of these. Where can I get some?:smooth:

Santa brought the cardboard scratching posts with the catnip in them for our kitties for Christmas. DH tore off the lid to the scratching posts and "installed" the catnip. My cats went nuts. But a little while later, the female cat urinated on the lid to the box that had been torn off. She has been litter-trained since we brought her home from the Humane Society and has NEVER had an accident. I couldn't believe she did that.

No more catnip in our house!
