My kitten has lymphoma

Linda,
I'm so sorry to hear this! What a rough time you've been having in the last year with your kitties.
I hope the chemo helps her.

Thanks so much for the replies. It helps. We are still waiting to hear if we can pick her up. I hope she is feeling good! Her name is Minnie. She was 1.5 pounds when I got her and is now 9.5 pounds. Her sister is Wendy and is going crazy looking for her.

I hope you will get to bring sweet Minnie home very soon and her treatments go well. Our pets are such special members of our families and it really hurts when they are sick. Sending my prayers for little Minnie.

So sorry to hear about your kitty. My sister's cat was recently diagnosed with cancer, forget the type, but was caused by the feline leukemia vaccine. My sister is so upset. She had April operated on to remove the tumor, but has opted not to do chemo. So far she is doing okay, but we don't know how long we'll have her. :grouphug:

Unfortunately surgery isn't an option so chemo is our only hope. Without it she won't be able to eat, our hope is that it will shrink the tumor and she will be well for a little while.

I will be thinking of both you and Minnie. Hope everything goes better than expected. :grouphug:

How is Minnie tonight? Were you able to bring her home? Let us know how you are doing.

Prayers coming your way. As the owner of a breed that is notorious for Lymphoma, I understand.

I'm so sorry for your kitty. :grouphug:

Minnie is HOME!!! She looks great. She almost jumped into my arms and purred like crazy. Wendy is following her everywhere. I talk to the oncologist tomorrow and will find out when we go back, etc. It took 2 hrs to get there but only 1.5 to come home. I just love the shore weekend traffic.

That is great news that Minnie is home tonight, enjoy your reunion! Wendy too! :goodvibes

I'm so glad Minnie is home. I hope she is able to respond well to the treatments.

Sending some pixie dust your way. :wizard:

Oh, so sad.

What's your kitten's name?

Please give her a hug and kiss from me.

Minnie had a good night. She is a little weird but she has been in a cage for 5 nights so she really enjoyed her freedom. She attacked her scratching post first thing. She kept everything she ate down and seems to have a decent appitite. She doesn't like me giving her the pills. She's tiny but strong and it take 2 of us with a pill gun.

I'm so sorry to hear of your kitten's illness. I know how difficult this time can be, but don't give up hope! One of my 3 cats has cancer (fibrosarcoma) and almost 8 months since the surgery to remove the mass he is still tumor-free! Read my story in a thread here entitled:

Lump on my cat's back..............UPDATE! (Page 3)

All the best wishes for you and your kitten! :grouphug:

jx3smom,

One of our ferrets was just diagnosed with the same thing. I hope Minnie responds well to treatment!!!!

Ginny

I go from panic to being mad to panic and lots of tears. She is going to fight this and we will help her in every way we can. She has alway been a really spoiled kittie and will continue to be.

Just a quick update! Minnie has had 2 treatments and is eating with out difficulty. We have a long road to go and I am sure there will be a lot of ups and downs but we will fight this as long as Minnie wants to.
