Just for fun today my kids were rating the restaurants we ate at on our trip.
Here are their results!

.......................................DD11:tink: DS8pirate:

Sci-Fi....................................... 5 ...............8
Hollywood and Vine..................... 7................6
Crystal Palace-breakfast..............10...............10
Crystal Palace-dinner.................. 8...............10
Cinderellas Royal Table................ 5................5
50s Prime Time.......................... 9...............10
Biergarten................................ 2................2
Le Cellier................................. 7.................8
Whispering Canyon Cafe............ 6.................4
Planet Hollywood..................... 10................10

They rated on food, atmosphere and service :)

Interesting, the kids point of view!

Wow! They really went for Planet Hollywood! DS has always wanted to eat here, but we're not a big fan of DTD, and the place just looks huge! Is it WAY too loud? I can't handle it if it's loud.

They said they loved Planet Hollywood because they loved seeing the movie props. My son loved seeing a Mighty Ducks jersey from the movie. And Herbie. My daughter loved her ribs, said they were as good as Tony Romas.

It is huge. We were on the top (3rd) floor. So it didn't seem too noisy up there. It was a 5:15 dinner, it was fairly busy, but not too noisy.
There was 8 of us and we all enjoyed it.

Cute! I agree with their assessment of Crystal Palace and Planet Hollywood. And with PH, a lot of people talk about how terrible it is but I've been there a bunch of times and never had a bad experience or meal. To each their own I suppose. Thanks for sharing :)

WOW. They didn't go for Biergarten. I ate there once, good, but I wouldn't do it again.

I need to check out Planet Hollywood's menu.

Very nice concept. :cool1:

We've eaten at PH also and while i liked the atmosphere and the food, we found it DEAFENING!!!! Almost impossible to have a conversation. we were also on the uppermost level and even there it was super loud and sounded louded below. It may have been because it was evening, around 830 after a Cirque show.
I'd eat there again but maybe in the afternoon, maybe not a loud.

We also found Planet Hollywood WAY to loud. We had an early dinner and it was just the three of us. We could not carry on a conversation. My son is a huge moive buff and this was a must for him. If we did nothing else during that trip but Planet Hollywood, he would be fine. Afterward, he said that he was glad he did it but he's not going to be running back again.

Loved the different perspective.

My kids LOVED Beirgarten! Maybe yours were too old to enjoy the dancing? My DS8 liked hearing the music and watching, but wouldn't partcipate. My DD3 was too busy dancing to eat!

They also loved CRT breakfast - even DS, who thought he was too big for a princess meal! Guess it was the sword!:lmao:

I am glad to see they liked 50's Prime Time, as we will be there in a few months!

We were at CRT for dinner, maybe that makes the difference. I think they would have enjoyed the breakfast better, but of course there were no spots left.

My kids just hated the food at Biergarten, but did like the ambience okay.

We all loved 50PT, it was fun.

My six-and-a-half year old granddaughter wouldn't go into the Biergarten until she did the Sauerkraut test. She wasn't going if she smelled sauerkraut. Fortunately for us, the test was passed. How the heck do you eat at a German restaurant and not smell sauerkraut? Pardon me, freedom cabbage.

I love it!!!! Excuse me can my we would like a table for four, but can she do a sniff test first!!!!:rotfl:

You can smell the sauerkraut from across the whole German pavillion!
It is soooo strong. Guess that is good if you are a cabbage fan, which we are not.

:)

I can't believe they were so harsh on the Beirgarten. I loved it! You can't get any decent german food where I live.

Ya, they aren't very 'brave' when it comes to trying new things, so I am not surprised that they didn't like it. I am not an adventurous eater either, so they get it from me!!

DD would be happy with chicken strips everyday, and DS would be happy with a burger and fries!!

I loved the scale thing! I am going to steal that and use it with my kids on our next trip!

PH is deafening! My poor father was stuffing little wads paper napkins into his ears b/c it was SO LOUD! It was one of the funniest things I saw all week! There was no way you could carry on a conversation in that place...we declined to order and went somewhere else to eat.

I am hoping for free dining again this year, and trying to figure out where to make the ADRs.

I asked them which ones they wanted to repeat and they said:
Crystal Palace breakfast
Planet Hollywood dinner

and that is all. They didn't care to return to any of the others. Though DH and I liked 50sPT,so may book there also!

Now I am trying to decide if my kids would like Cape May Dinner Buffet, Maya Grill or the Grand Floridian Cafe.

Too many choices!
But you gotta love free dining!!:cool1:
