My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Hi Anna~

Sounds like the field trip was filled with special moments and wonderful memories! :goodvibes I am so glad to hear that everything went so well. :goodvibes

Have a wonderful weekend! :sunny:

What a wonderful experience! My DD6 had her 1st grade program - they all sang and recited poems. It was cute, but not quite as elaborate as yours!!

You did a great job behaving yourself at the buffet and getting right back on track yesterday. You are also really racking up those exercise minutes, WAY TO GO! :cheer2:

Not sure what happened today. DD12 did her "Greek Play" today in class so I had to have me and DD2 showered, dressed and at school at 7:45 (usually just do the drop off lane in my sweats and DD2 in PJ's. :scared1: ) That threw off my whole routine, so to speak. Grabbed a granola bar for breakfast and then discovered a second one in my purse so I ate that too. :sad2: No honor choir practice today (another change to my routine) so the kids were done with school at 12:45. (minimum day Friday) Ate two more granola bars for lunch while waiting for them at school. :sad2: Could have easily walked to school to pick DD's up, but it didn't even occur to me until I was sitting in the school parking lot. I think we were all drained from the past week. I ate 2 babybel cheeses and watched survivor and ER (so sad!!) while DD2 took a nap and the older 2 played. Got back on track at dinner, but then completely lost it and had 6 girl scout cookies and a big glass of milk! No wonder the scale isn't moving. :sad2:

Food:
7:45: 2 granola bars
12:30p: 2 more granola bars
3:30p: 2 babybel cheeses
6:45p: grilled chicken breast, salad w/ feta and balsalmic vinegar, asparagus, 2 spoonfuls of rice pilaf, 36 oz skim milk, 6 trefoil girl scout cookies
Totals:
Cal: 1857, Fat: 63g, Carbs: 188g, Fiber: 13g, Protein: 137g

Water: 56 oz :sad2:

Exercise: none

OK, now I have to watch ER! I am so behind on my TiVo. DH and I watched Survivor last night, but we still have to watch this week's Amazing Race. I finally watched LAST week's ER yesterday, I have to catch up!

Don't worry about yesterday's food. Hey, at least the scale is not moving UP! ;) I can't believe you still have GS cookies. Ours were gone long ago. In my belly of course... :rolleyes1

I hope you have a fantastic, relaxing Mother's Day! :flower3:

Today both DD's had to work on/finish long term projects. They both made good progress, but didn't finish which means work tomorrow :sad2: DD10 could have finished her state report if she only cut the "diddle daddle" by half. She doesn't seem to understand that though. I pretty much have to stay in the same room with her at all times or she gets "distracted". This is a long winded way of saying, no chance to exercise today. :sad2: I did get the laundry done & folded, bonus room picked up, and arts & crafts cabinet completely cleaned out and reorganized and even sharpened all of the colored pencils! DH took care of cooking/shopping today which is nice, but he does buy tempting stuff. This time it is Doritos and Julian Apple Pie. At least these are both easier to resist than the cookie dough! :rotfl2:

Food:
8:30a: 4 pancakes w/ maple syrup, egg, 12 oz skim milk
1:30p: 2 turkey hot dogs w/ ketchup & mustard, 11 Doritos (1 serving)
6:30p: DH made fried chicken breast, 3/4c mashed potatoes, 1/4c corn, 1 sliver apple pie, 15oz skim milk
Totals:
Cal: 1772, Fat: 56g, Carbs: 198g, Fiber: 7g, Protein: 118g
Resisted: more doritos, big apple pie slice, ice cream or another glass of milk w/ pie

Water: 110 oz

Exercise: none

LOL. Definitely watch ER and this weeks Amazing Race! The finally is this week and it collides with something else (don't remember what now) so I will actually have to watch one "live" or record on the VCR. We TiVo everything and are always behind. One of our favorite shows is "24". I finally had to transfer episodes to the VCR because we have not seen a single episode this season and it was filling up the TiVo!

The GS cookies were in the back of the freezer and I am quite sure DD's had forgotten about them or they would not have been there. :rotfl2:

DH will have to take over "supervision" of DD10 tomorrow since that is NOT the way I want to spend my Mother's Day. She has had 5 weeks to write this report. She has been working on it, but not enough obviously. Her "drawings" are all done. Of course, all of the drawings account for 5 points total. Each of the 7 written subjects are 10 points each! 3 of those need minor changes, 2 need major edits/additions, 1 is not complete, and 1 needs to be completely redone! Sigh.

Hey Anna, I can totally relate to the kids procrastination when it comes to getting projects done. Everytime DS has one do he waits till the day before and makes me run out the night before to get some needed supply-everysingle time. I don't blame you for not wanting to spend Mother's Day like you did today. You deserve to do something for yourself. You did pretty good resisting the pie.

Have a really nice mother's Day!!
Shannon

Happy Mother's Day Anna!
I hope you are having a nice relaxing day!
I can also relate to the 10 yr old procrastination!! DS is the same way!!

Have a great day and enjoy yourself!

Thank you all for the Mother's Day wishes. Happy Mother's Day to all of you as well (except Scott - Happy Mother's Day to Scott's lovely wife :) )

Spent the morning doing the monster Sudoku puzzle (4x4) in the paper while DD10 worked on her $@^*@$^& State Report. :furious: Finally, around 11:30a it appeared that she was far enough along to be left unsupervised for awhile. The sun actually decided to make an appearance too  so I spent the rest of the day poolside! :thumbsup2 Granted, I did have to edit various drafts of above mentioned report: make this a sentence; in the history section the DATE something happened is important information; Puget Sound is an important physical feature of WA so yes, you do need to talk about it, etc. but at least I was in the sun! :sunny: DH was sweet and brought out a variety of meats, cheeses, veggies, etc for lunch. I skipped the crackers. He also made several pitchers of Margaritas -- some of my editting skills were getting a little suspect later in the afternoon. :rotfl2: DD did finally finish around 3, I think. Didn't get my planned walk in thanks to the Margaritas. I'm really going to have to get serious or I won't meet my exercise challenge. Monday ...

I need to make banana bread tonight for Teacher Appreciation Day tomorrow. Luckily we only have enough bananas for 1 loaf so there won't be any "leftovers" for me to nibble on.

Food:
8:15a: Danish, scrambled egg, 12 oz skim milk
11:45a: various meats, cheese, lots of red pepper, grape tomatoes, brocolli, many margaritas
3p: macaroon, 8 oz milk -- I had a major sweet craving ...
5:45p: grilled steak, brocolli, red wine
8:00p: small slice apple pie, 12 oz skim milk
resisted: doritos, crackers, more pie
Totals: ??

Water: 110 oz

Exercise: none :sad2:

Hi Anna,

So glad to that the field trip went well!!!
Oh I remember the days when I would wait and wait to finish a school project...I would drive my mom nuts!!!!

You are doing a great job...keep up the good work!!

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day :)

Hi Anna!

Sounds like you had a great Mother's Day! :goodvibes Like Jamie, I remember waiting until the last minute to finish a school project. ;) My mom never knew about it though! :rotfl:

I hope you have a great day today! :sunny: Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Mmm, margaritas by the pool - great way to spend Mother's Day! We had at least 15 people over. NOT relaxing... :crazy2:

DS10 does the same thing with the projects. The last one was a report on animals. He had a about a month to work on it, and the week before it was due, he changed his animal from a jaguar to emperor penguins. Then I'm pretty sure he plagiarized some - I don't think a 10 year old would use words like "ironically" in his report on his own... What can you do? :confused3

You'll get caught up on those exercise minutes, don't worry! I will barely scrape by this month, but I think I'll make it.

Anna - hang in there on the reports....at least your dd tells you about them and turns them in!! My ds10 doesn't tell me, then, if he does do, he doesn't turn the stuff in!!! go figure!!
Glad to hear you got some pool time!! I'm jealous!!

Happy Mother's Day, Anna! Sounds like you had a wonderful relaxing day.

Glad to hear that your field trip went so well. Sounds like an awesome trip!

Anna - Nice way to spend your day!! Funny thing is that we also made banana bread yesterday! (small world!) It was for teacher appreciation too....just not our daughter's teachers...it was for my wife (she taught for 15 years and is now an AP) lol!

Thank you all for stopping by my journal. I guess I am glad to hear that DD is not unique in her ability to drive me crazy with her school work.

Well I have decided that Monday may be a dumb day to do WI. I have been at 175 since Friday. This morning back to 177. :furious: Instead of motivating me, I got cranky and did not make the best food choices today - too many doritos. Didn't help that DD2 is running a fever today so I couldn't walk earlier in the day. I did get a walk in after dinner though, so that was nice.

Food:
8:15a: 1c GoLean Crunch, 12 oz skim milk
11:45a: 1/2 sandwich, 11 doritos
2p: slice apple pie, 8 oz skim milk
5:45p: 1c Chicken Tortilla soup, 11 doritos, 12 oz skim milk
6:15p: 1/2 slice banana bread (there were a few slices leftover from the Teacher appreciation breakfast)
Totals:
Cal: 1533, Fat: 57g, Carbs: 207g, Fiber: 20g, Protein: 64g

Water: 82 oz

Exercise: 80 minute walk :yay:

Hi Anna,

I am so glad that you got some relaxation time with your Margueritas for Mother's Day. Good for DH. Boy that sounds really good right now! You 'll get back to walking. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my journal and for the support. Have a Super Tuesday.

Shannon :)

Wow, I thought I was the only one who got ticked off at the scale like that! I do that too. It's hard when the scale goes up like that - you just want to give up. But DON'T! It is probably water retention and will be gone soon. :thumbsup2

Great job getting that walk in! You are just about at the halfway point for your exercise challenge, you can do it! I know you were worried about getting caught up, but I think you are right on schedule.

 Finally had a great day where it all came together: food, exercise & water! DD2 still has a fever, so no daytime walk. I did go out in the evening after DH got home. I took DH's iPod Nano - that really helped me pick up my pace. When I walk in the evening I don't leave my neighborhood. From my running days, I know that if I do every single culdesac it is exactly 5 miles. Usually I just walk for about an hour and head towards home skipping the remaining streets. At about 50 minutes, I realized there were only three culdesacs and 1 street left. If I could finish those in 25 minutes I would be on a 4mph pace. Not much during my running days, but way faster than anything I have done in the last year +. I finished the 5 mile loop in 75 minutes! :cool1:

Food:
8:15a: whole wheat toast w/ PB & jam, 12 oz skim milk
12:30p: Carl's Jr w/ DH before his dentist appointment - I had his papers: Santa Fe Chicken w/o bun, cheese or sauce
2:20p: granola bar
5:30p: Sauted onions, peppers, squash, green beans, sliced leftover steak over 1/2c spinach pasta sprinkled w/ feta and chopped olive, 14 oz skim milk
Totals:
Cal: 1267, Fat: 42g, Carbs: 121g, Fiber: 11g, Protein: 103g

Water: 117 oz

Exercise: 75 minute walk - 5 miles of all hills! :yay:

Thank you for stopping by my journal. I really appreciate it. With DD2 sick, I have not gotten much DIS time to visit other journals. Miss Cranky just wants to be held, read stories, and play with toy dogs & dinosaurs (the combo works for her - who am I to argue! When older DD's were little, they used to have a very elaborate game involving dinos, hot wheels and barbies! :rotfl2: )

Amy, The scale is a huge motivator for me. I know it shouldn't be, but it is. I know the weight is "margarita" and I'm also preTOM bloat, but it still ticks me off. It helped that Tuesday the scale was down to 176 and this morning (Weds) it was at 175 again. That does keep me motivated when I get munchies or sweets cravings.

Shannon, Margaritas were yummy! If only they didn't affect the scale! :rotfl2:

Hi Anna~

It sounds like yesterday was a great day for you! :yay: Don't ya just love when a plan comes together? :goodvibes Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

How is your DD feeling? I hope she starts feeling better soon! :goodvibes

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday! :sunny:
