He would just come along for the kids! So I've been planning to go in feb and started making touring plans and such.

About a month later he comes to me and says I want to go on the submarines, and see the president Lincoln show.

Then a week later he mentions all your can eat bbq aka btmbbq lol

This week he decided we should stay at the grand California

But just so you know he doesn't want to help with the planning

If my husband said he wouldn't help with the planning, then chose to stay at the Grand Californian, I'd be all for it! That's a nice problem to have.

Enjoy!

I'm sure there will be many more things that he doesn't have an opinion on before you go! :)

I love this story. Sounds extremely familiar. :) -so book the GC before he starts to have second thoughts about the money. (yes, I speak from experience, and yes it is "just to late to change reservations now") ;)

If you go to Orbitz today, there is a 20% off code that works for all the DLR hotels! Code is 48HRSALE.

If he really is a big kid like that, I'd stay at Disneyland Hotel, Frontier Tower, with the giant model of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the lobby. It will blow his mind.

I've never used Orbitz, and I'm playing with it now, but I don't see a place to give a discount code. Do you have to be signed in?
Help please. :) Thanx

If you go to www.orbitz.com, right on the main page on the left side is a spot for you to start your search. Right under the bit red SEARCH button, there is a space for additional options and a spot for you to type in the hotel name, immediately under that is a spot that says "I have a promo code" and a spot to type the code in. Type in the code 48HRSALE and then start searching. If the code is valid, at the top of the next page it will say "Your promotion code has been successfully applied. Select any hotel labeled "PROMO CODE ELIGIBLE" and you will see your savings on the next page."

From there, you can check out any of the hotels that say Promo Code Eligible and see the rates. For my Feb dates I can get the Grand Californian for $229/night!

THANX. -and $229 for GC?????? That seems like much more than 20% discount. :)

Right now the DLR hotels are on for 25% off Sun-Thurs nights and the Orbitz is an extra 20% off of that! It just worked out that our February dates have us arriving Sunday and checking out Friday so we got the absolutely best possible rate!

We used Orbitz for our recent trip, worked out great. I used the iPad app which also gives you a 5% rebate to use for future bookings. The rebate is available immediately once booked (you need to pay up front), and as we were staying at multiple hotels I was able to use the rebate earned at each hotel booked for the next hotel we were booking.

NICE! I used ebates.ca to get to orbitz and will get I believe 3.5% cash back.

That is a great rate my dates are really flexable...it says the promo code is expired??? I was planning to go during dapper days for the 249 rate but 229 is even better.

I stayed in that tower when we were at the DLH. It was such a tease since BTMRR was closed at the time. I loved it though! I'm on the fence when I do the math...873.99 3 nights GCH
698.49 3 nights at DLH
932.32 4 nights DLH

Decisions decisions.........

Sadly, the code has now expired but there is still a 10% off code that is active, HOTEL10 and yes, the DLR hotels are still eligible!

Also, if you have not already done so, come and join us on the Official February 2015 thread!

My husband also didn't want to help with the planning and then decided he wanted to stay at the DLH. I was happy but it did cost a lot more money than I was wanting.

:rotfl: Sounds like mine! His idea of 'planning a trip' is to get in the car. Consequently, I do all the planning. But he wants to do everything, once we get there.

Have a great trip!!!

Yeah, I've been tons of times but he's in for a real surprise once we get there. He has never been and doesn't know the extent of all my touring plans :lmao:
