My husband is convinced that Blizzard Beach...

I believe in terms of attendance, Typhoon Lagoon has more visitors each year than Blizzard beach. There are positives and negatives about each. For example, snorkeling with sharks and riding a ski lift to the top.

Never done bb coming from the frozen tundra I don't care for winter theme

TL. All the way! I feel they have a good mix of body slides and tube slides along with the lazy river, crush n gusher, swim with the fishes. BB is fun and I like their family ride more but their slides are more tube/mats and that's just not my thing

I've never been to BB, but the idea of swimming in the warm sun while you're surrounded by the fake snow has never been very appealing. I love TL for the wave pool and the massive lazy river.

TL is my favorite, and it's not a close contest. I don't like snow, so that's the first strike against BB. TL has a wonderful tropical feel, which makes it a great atmosphere. I love the lazy river, body surfing in the wave pool, and Crush N Gusher is pretty epic.

I also prefer the main counter service. The food is basically the same at both parks from what I remember, but the atmosphere is different. At TL you're sitting among palm trees, and at BB your sitting outside a ski lodge.

I've never paid attention to the children's area, so I couldn't comment on that.

The secondary slides are pretty comparable at both. BB is the clear winner when it comes to the family ride (credit where credit is due).

My last trip only BB was open, and I happily went and enjoyed myself. I would have preferred TL, but it is still a nice park in its own right.

Each waterpark has it's plusses and minuses. My favorite is Typhoon Lagoon. That wave pool with the big waves is amazing, crush and gusher is a blast, it has some fun slides, lazy river and the shark reef which is very unique. I do not care for the wave pool at Blizzard Beach, it is small, not enough floats and the constant "little" waves just make me nauseous. BB does win for the slides, it has some great ones. When we go, we make sure to do a day at each - and then a second day at TL.

We have never been to TL, can you describe the shark reef?
Is there a long wait, height or age restrictions? We would be going in the summer and have never done WDW in summer before so I can imagine the lines

I haven't been in years so I can't comment on the restrictions, but the website says under 10 must have an adult with. The wate is 10 feet deep, and quite cold so there is that to consider. Go early in the day if it is a priority

is better than Typhoon Lagoon. But he has not even been to TL.

We purchased the Waterpark Fun and More Option this year because the last time we went to the watermarks a few years ago our DD was not with us and she wants to try it. Plus coming from MI on spring break one of our top priorities in sun and pool time. We have been to WDW many times and do not like to do the theme parks all day every day.

So my hubby is insisting that there is more for everyone to do in terms of water rides at BB. I was at TL about 20 years ago but remember it was enjoyable. I liked BB but would prefer to try TL because my DD would like to try the surfing.

Any thoughts? What is your favorite Waterpark and why?

We have DS (8) and DD (16). Our plan is to head to one on arrival day. Our flight gets in at 9 AM so we figure we could arrive at BB or TL by noon but not at opening.
We personally like TL more r/t the wave pool and shark snorkeling. Imho

My kids definitely prefer Blizzard Beach. They think Typhoon Lagoon is boring. The wave pool is fun for a little while, but it is usually packed, and the waves get very rough and throw you around - they always get out with multiple scrapes and cuts.

Blizzard Beach has a great area for kids (mine could ride the zip line literally all day) and my kids prefer the slides there.

Tl all the way.
Kids keep busy in wave pool and lazy river is nicer

Have done both but think TL is better - just for the wave pool. Can you not fit both into your trip?

Thanks so much for the replies, opinions, and advice. I think we will try to fit in both for this trip. Maybe start with BB on our arrival day since it may have more slides we can all do together and then do TL later in the trip. With all the descriptions, TL just is more appealing to me. A couple more questions for those of you who know more than I do...

Is it a big deal that we can't get there at opening? Our flight arrives at 9 AM so our plan is an early lunch at the hotel and then hop on a bud to BB.

Do they sell alcohol at the water parks? Can't imagine my first day at WDW without a nice cocktail in the sun.

Again, thanks for the replies. Love the DIS.
