Last year we bought a house very cheap. It was in very poor condition and in need of a complete overhaul. We are currently living with my in-laws while we are working on it (contractors are there too).
We finally have some significant progress!
Here are some pictures of our new kitchen. New plumbing, new electrical, new from top to bottom!
This used to be the dining room. Cheap, peel and stick tile. Small window opening that was cut to a 30" door to a small addition.

We opened the walkthru to a 6 foot opening. The addition is larger now and attaches to a 3 stall garage.

The home is solid brick. So we furred out the walls and insulated them from the inside.

The house was built in 1911 and featured lath and plaster. All walls were taken down to bare studs with new plumbing and electrical in all areas of the house.

We put a paintable wallpaper on the ceiling that looks like a tin ceiling. It looks amazing in person for a fraction of the cost. It was very time consuming to put it up, but worth it.

The next 3 pictures are the almost finished kitchen. Still some work to finish it, but looks like a real kitchen now. We did stainless appliances and Quartz contertops. We wanted a thick butcher block island so we went with a 6" think natural butcher block island. The tile is a smokey grey ceramic tile.
