Got back yesterday evening ..... so in what has become a DISboard tradition here's my highs and lows

HIGHS

Staying in Paris for the first time after previously only visiting for day-trips :)

Seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night :)

The weather - hot hot hot :sunny:

Ezyshuttle - efficient and reliable :)

Newport Bay Club - loved our rooms and the hotel, especially the swimming pool which was a godsend in the heat :cloud9:

Inventions Sunday Brunch - got my wish granted and finally met Jiminy Cricket

Cape Cod - wasn't expecting much but it was delicious with lots of choice :)

Cinemagique - loved the new additions :)

Meeting Carrie Cat and being able to say thank you for all her contributions to the board :goodvibes

Cast Members - from the moment we arrived every cast member we encountered was pleasant and helpful :)

Buying my replacement ice-cream scoop - and a spare in case DH breaks it again ;)

Being able to watch Dreams without being jostled or having my personal space invaded

and finally ..... Dreams  what can I say that hasn't already been? :confused3 I watched it six times on its opening weekend alone and didn't care if I didn't do a single ride so long as I got to see it in person rather than through a computer screen. I loved it even more seeing it for real - it's fantastic and without doubt it's the best show I've ever seen at any Disney park :cloud9:

Lows

The weather - this is a low as well as a high. I love the heat but it did get a bit too hot especially on the day we went to Versailles (39F) where we had to give up after lunch and leave without seeing Marie-Antoinette's estate :(

The crowds (not really a low, more an observation) - we've been a few times in August before and never have I seen such long wait times for the less popular rides nor nearly the entire length of Main Street and the hub staked out two hours before Fantillusion, one hour yes but not two. I'm wondering if people just stayed put in their same spot after watching Disney Magic on Parade! :rotfl:

Not being able to buy a CD of Disney Dreams music :(

Being really dumb and accidentally deleting all my photos of our days in Paris and Inventions Sunday brunch :worried:

Having to come home - I always want one more day! ;)

Welcome back!:wave2: Great highs, I am so jealous of you meeting Jiminy Cricket, but does, "accidentally deleting all my photos of our days in Paris and Inventions Sunday brunch" mean you have no record of it? :worried: I hope you managed to get an autograph at least.

Sounds a near perfect trip to me (other than losing the photos) with great weather, staying in Paris AND DLP. Glad you liked the NBC too, we're fans ourselves.

Think you're just going to have to go back and do it all again though to recapture the photos..... :lmao:

Great highs and low :goodvibes

I forgot all about the new cinemagique additions....will have to remember at Christmas :cool1:

I downloaded this a few years ago: http://www.cardrecovery.com/

It's not free, but it's easy to use, ans it has retrieved the majority of my accidentally deleted photos on a couple of occasions :thumbsup2

welcome back. I want to see dreams... :sad2:

you could have stopped with meeting Jiminy Cricket for me - I'd have classed that as an amazing high :cloud9:.

I knew you'd love Dreams, but its lovely that you like the NBC so much too.

39degrees :scared1:? tooooo hot!

Yes :scared1: and no :( I'm hoping that programme Mark's recommended will do the trick.

Thank you, I found that programme yesterday when googling what to do so it's really good to know someone's already used it. Please keep your fingers crossed that I can recover at least some of the photos!!

Welcome back :goodvibes Glad you had such a great time.

Being able to watch Dreams without being jostled or having my personal space invaded

Okay, I have to ask how! Do you mean you watched it from your room one night?

Really hope you manage to get some photos back ::yes::

What a fabulous set of highs! Totally agree with the weather low, it was getting hotter when we left on the Friday and it was just nasty, so I am not sure we would have coped with the weather you experienced!

So glad you felt the same about the NPB as we did. Maybe the fantastic room helped!

Gutted about your photos! I really hope that programme works and you get them back.

:thumbsup2 to meeting Jiminy!

Welcome back Elaine, you should be able to recover your photos easily. I deleted some intentionally as I had them printed, lent my camera to someone who said he found all the photos still on the card, so fingers crossed for you:)

Hi Elaine,

Just wondering if you used EZ shuttle to get to and from Paris city? Their website only mentions going from airport to the parks. We are thinking of doing a couple of days in Paris in December before we head out to DLP so we would need a transfer from CDG to Paris city, then from Paris city to DLP and then from DLP to CDG. I wasn't sure if they would do the first two transfers we need.

Great to hear you had such a good time. It's 20 years since I was at DLP in the summer and I remember melting! 39 degrees, wow, now that is HOT! We always go for the Christmas season now (as Christmas is my favourite time of year plus the queues are much shorter) so we are more used to snow suits and thermal underwear than shorts!!

Sounds like you had a superb time, I really hope I get to see Dreams in person too. Fingers crossed that you can recover your missing pics :thumbsup2

and last but not least that you are now a fan of my favourite hotel

Hello and welcome back :wave2:

Love the highs ;) wonderful to have met you :flower3: and glad to see not many lows

Nice and cool today - 22° - That 39° was in the shade too so imagine in direct sunshine  Luckily it only lasted the weekend and not like 2003 where we got nearly a fortnight like that.

Fingers crossed for the photos :goodvibes

Sounds like a great trip. I hope you manage to recover your photos. I can't wait until I see Dreams for real next month. xx

And YES    I have salvaged my photos :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: they are not only on my computer but also saved on a back-up disc and even better, it didn't cost a penny as DD had downloaded that programme to her laptop a couple of years ago when one of my cards got corrupted. I am a very happy bunny now. :goodvibes

This was on two occasions in the park! The first time we had watched Fantillusion from outside Disney Clothiers so quite a way down Main Street. When it finished we just walked up it until we were just past Casey's. The second night we didn't bother with Fantillusion and came up the arcade intending to make our way over to Adventureland to utilise that bush area (!) but there was no need as there was lots of space on Central Plaza so we just slotted in there. Both times there was more than enough space to move from side to side when the inevitable 'kids on shoulders' started. I was really surprised at this and thought it was a fluke the first time but when it was like that the second night and considering we were even further forward (after it was over I was able to estimate we were about 10 people back from the front rope) it was amazing. The third night Samantha and Francesca went into the park to watch it and Bryan, Danielle, and I watched it from the balcony in the girls room where we got a much better view than I'd expected to, obviously nowhere close to being in the park but good enough. :cloud9:

Yes, we used Ezyshuttle to transport us to Paris then from Paris to DLP as well as DLP to the airport. If you email for a quote they'll price up each journey separately.

Welcome back Elaine.

Sounds like you had a fab trip.

Now you know what we need dont you - Yes a Trip report super quick (and completed :rolleyes1 :rotfl:)

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity!!

And :woohoo: about the photos! That's great to hear - and useful to know about. :thumbsup2
