How long does this last? Is it normal?

I'm just not sure Atkins is right for me, but I'm going to hang in there for at least 2 weeks. But this headache needs to go!! :(

Water, water and more water. I had that so I drank loads - I think it's just a sign that you're detoxing - I got the headache on about the 3rd day and it had cleared up after another day.

You'll feel great when it passes though.

Hang in there Kelsie! You can do it and you will feel better soon! I've never done Atkins, but it makes sense that if your body is going through withdrawl and getting rid of toxins that you will feel miserable for a little while.

YOU CAN DO IT! DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!

Kelsie - it's a GOOD thing that you feel awful!!! It means you're getting rid of all that junk that was in your body! Your body will be thanking you in a couple of days!

By Friday you won't believe how good you feel, and how much energy you will have! You will notice that you're sleeping better and not getting those low slumps during the day that are caused by eating too much sugar/carbs earlier in the day.

Hang in there!
:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I was like that for 3 days. I couldn't believe how tired I was too. I kept dragging on and after the first week I was fine. I think it's the carb/sugar withdrawal. You'll really have more energy once you get past this. I finally went to sleep on the 3rd day with a cold cloth on my head for about 2 hours in the afternoon (I never nap unless I'm sick).
Once you start seeing your weight loss, you'll forget you ever had a headache:D

{HUGS}

I was very ill - flu like. By next week at this time you will likely feel better. Then you will be coming to us and saying that you just are not hungry --- and asking if you really have to eat three meals a day. Seems unlikely at this point (I bet) but honestly it will be that way!

You can do it Kelsie! It will be worth the struggle this week as you will feel better than ever!

Now I just have to go back a re-read my post to myself -- so I can get myself back on track again! I've come off track a bit -- and I don't feel near as good as I did on program. Why can't I see that????

YOu can do it!!! Just keep it going!!!! When I hit WW really hard, I too feel bad for about 2-3 days, then I adjust.

I know right now you feel like this.....

I had an absolutely splitting headache for a day when I first started Atkins, but I stuck with it...mostly because I had no idea it was FROM Atkins!

I hope yours doesn't last long and that you stick with Atkins. Even tho not all diets are right for all people, it's good to give it a shot. Good luck! And I hope you feel better soon.

Sending some cyber asprins your way. Hope your headache goes away soon.

*gasp* Kelsie this means you are an addict! Who'd a thunk it? Our own Kelsie is an addict and she's going cold turkey.

Just teasing you sweetie. My husband went through withdrawal too. He felt wretched for almost 4 days, he didn't realize it though, because he was so unhealthy from his diabetes that he had been feeling wretched every day for more than a decade. What he did notice was at the end of day 4 he suddenly felt wonderful. He remarked on it to me. He was amazed, truly. He was so surprised, it was kind of cute actually. He just all of a sudden felt great.

So, drink lots of water, Kels. Never give up, continue the induction plan, and in a few days you, too, will be feeling great! You just have to get rid of all of that glucagon your body has stored and to rid your body of the last vestiges of refined carbohydrates. Once that is gone you will find a new energy and feeling of well being. I promise.

I never went through any of this withdrawal stuff. I guess God decided I was so darned fat he wouldn't burden me with the withdrawal too ;)

You can do this Kelsie. Just hang in there and don't give up. If you give up now you will have suffered for nothing.

We're here for you, Kels. Come here to WISH and vent to us, any time. We have broad shoulders.

My name is Kelsie and I'm a SUGAR ADDICT :(

I'm doing a little better, I stopped at the store this morning and picked up some things to snack on. If you want to increase your water intake, eat a few 'hot and spicy' pork skins (these things are HOT!)

I took some aspirin and am drinking tons of water.

I will make it through this!!

Thanks for all the support! :)

Good for you, Kels. It will get better eventually. You can do this, we all believe in you. Big {{{HUGS}}}

I'm right there with you Kelsie....I was such an addict that I knew I couldnt go directly to a really low carb diet. So, last week I tried to stay in the 40 to 80 grams a day...felt horrible but managed through the week...this week I jumped down to 15 to 20 grams...I still feel horrible... but it's a different type of horrible then every time I binge on cookies....I'm figuring it will pass...I'm determined to do it this time...

I would say "You can do this Kelsie", but she promised to SMACK me if I did.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO................

Kelsie, the headaches can come with other diet plans, too! I'm doing WW, but on my doctor's advice, am eating limited carbs. (I ate little or no refined sugar normally, except for chocolate) I also had the headaches, but when I told her about them, and asked if they could be diet related, she really didn't know. Then I checked in here, and found that it was very common, so stopped worrying. ;) Now, I very rarely get them, and have also found that drinking lots of water helps when they do hit.

Kelsie, you can do it buddy!!! Please don't give up! I felt awful the first few weeks. The carb/sugar withdrawl was intense. I used to dream about garlic bread and pasta and wake up sweating...I swear.

Drink tons of water, and exercise. I found that both helped alot. I know you can do it. If I can get through that persiod, anyone can. I know it is lousey, but think of what happens on the other side. I am pulling for you!!!!

hugs
