My Happy Place

Another vote for Spectromagic. I also absolutely love Wishes. It is my favorite fireworks show. I can't wait to see both. We leave in 49 days :cool1:

My Happy Place is when I walk through the lobby of the WL and see that Christmas Tree standing tall:cloud9:. I just love that moment. When it isn't Christmastime, it's sitting next to the pool eating my counterservice breakfast from Roaring Fork anticipating another great day ahead. Eh who am I kidding it's still the WL LOBBY!;)

P the Mickey Funwheel of Death at California Adventure

I just had to laugh when I saw this. DH and DD went on this while I was pregnant. They were both visibly shaken after coming off after a ride in one of the swinging gondolas.

Anyway, back to topic...

In the parks happy place - First entry into Epcot. Ahhhh! All is right in the world. Right at this moment, I can hear the future world music and water cannons from the fountain....

Now that I'm a DVC owner - Seeing those Welcome Home signs at any DVC resort. There's just something about it for me. It makes me feel like Disney is saying, we know you like it here, and that's why we built these resorts.

I won't go into details, but this last year was trying. I didn't think we'd make it back to WDW in 2009, and I was not coping well! But, I got a bonus at work that covered airfare, we had our annual passes and we didn't need to worry about rooms. That was a happy moment when I realized we'd be able to go back...that's why I love DVC!

After making the mistake of not starting our vacation at MK one year, I realized that it doesn't truly feel like a Disney vacation until we are walking down Main Street toward the Castle. As soon as I'm on Main Street, I feel like I've officially arrived at vacation.

Walking around is a bit hard for me, and I love to float/swim in the pools. My two favorite places are the lazy river at BCV...I love seeing the windmill, and I love the currents and the other one is the Springs pool at VWL. That whole area, the trees, the bubbles in the pool, the hot tub just refreshes my soul. It's been over a year since we've stayed at VWL, but it's the main destination for our December trip...I can hardly wait!

I'm with you Bobbi...the music...the sounds...the pool...and I love sitting in that little area behind the outside bar next to the little creek that runs into the bay.

It's just wonderful! I forgot about the music. My DMom was with us once, and she sat there and said "I can see why you like this so much." I just wish we could get her there again. She's not able to travel any more.

What a cool thread!

My happy places are: hearing "Welcome Home", strolling around World Showcase on a warm summer night, seeing the castle, and eating at Marrakesh.

Tiger :)

There are so many! But my favorite has to be walking towards International Gateway from BCV or BWV at night, hearing the music, nearing World Showcase. Love it!!!

I'm a new DVC member so I'm sure I will have many different happy places once we take our first vacation as members in November. I believe that "welcome home" is quickly becoming one of those happy places. Walking down Main Street upon arrival and seeing the castle is definitely a happy place and strolling around Epcot in the evenings. There isn't much at WDW that isn't a happy place for our family.:dance3:

We drive from Lexington, SC to Orlando. My "moment" is when we get off 4 and and follow the signs. As we approach the Welcome Sign on both sides of the highway, I get really quiet and as soon as you go under the bridge/arc, I yell "We're HERE" and I can just feel the weight of all my work both at work and home just melt away because I know I have gone to my Happy Place and that I an safe and happy and will have a good time. Nothin' like it in the world!!!!

For me there are many....definitely the Welcome sign when you first drive on to Disney property, then hearing the music at OKW definitely puts me in my happy place:goodvibes

As long as we are talking about our Happy Place there is something really cool about when you first get into the boat at Splash Mountain. Then I really like hearing the little critters sing in high pitch towards the start of the ride when you are on the outside of splash mountain. It makes me smile every time.

There have been a few times that I really felt an overwhelming since of peace and happiness while using my DVC.. obviously anytime you just mention Disney... I get a smile on my face.. but here are a few moments that I would consider my "Happy Places" so far..
1. Watching my Autistic son.. smile and dance when Bear from bear in the big blue house came out for the first time.
2. Sitting along side my wife at AKV poolside watching my two sons enjoy the pool. It was early afternoon.. we had a great day vacationing that day.. and it was a very happy moment for me personally.
3. Eating the bread pudding desert from Ohana's from a few trips ago... even though I hated myself as soon as I was finished.. MAN THAT WAS GOOD!!!

For me there also are many.....all of us letting out a cheer while driving under the WDW arch, hearing "Welcome Home" upon arrival to our DVC resorts, watching Wishes on a warm summer night, but I especially know that I'm at my "Happy Place" when I'm strolling around World Showcase in Epcot. That just transcends me to another place and all is right in the world! :goodvibes

I think my happy place is the moment when I see how happy and at peace my DS4 is. He's had a rough start in his short life and being at WDW makes it all melt away so he can truly relax. The moments vary from trip to trip -- the last one was the expression on his face when he realized that turning on the tub jets made the bubbles grow over his head. Our next trip is to AKV and he loves giraffes. I have a feeling that my next happy place will be watching him freak out watching the giraffes from our balcony.

So many to choose from.. For me a couple things stand out.. Getting on the monorail at MCO after arriving is one and walking into the lobby for check-in

I have stages also. My first is getting off the train from NYC to Newark airport and seeing my DH already waiting there for me (I usually leave directly from work in NYC and DH works in NJ). Stage two is once the ME leaves the airport and approaches WDW gates. Stage 3 is opening the door to our new room and can't wait to get in and look at the balcony. Stage 4 rope drop at MK. Last but not least Stage 5 when I find that one item I will bring home to always remember our Magical trip.

Thats Awesome!

- Walking into the resort for check-in
- First steps on Main Street
- Eating a chocolate croissant early in the morning at the umbrella tables at the end of Main Street overlooking the castle, waterways, and gardens
- Relaxing by the pool
- Strolling through the shops
- Splash Mountain

...and on and on!! :lovestruc

It starts with the planning...making each trip special with a different focus. Some are all about the food, others all about the activities, others special celebrations.
Then the countdown...builds the anticipation to the Happy Place
Then the gift bags... I give our (mostly) grown kids (ages 16-26) before we leave a bag filled with plane food & snacks, one Disney clothing item, something fun.
As we are West Coasters, I go to my mind's "happy place" to survive the long trip, but once we get on Magic Express the REAL happiness kicks in!
