My hands are so dry!!

I use Jurlique hand cream. By far the best I've ever tried. Not at all greasy, and it smells sooo good. It's a bit pricey, but concentrated so it lasts a long time.

Mmmmmm.. wonder if they have it at any stores? THANKS!~

Bath and Body Works sells Burts Bees and you can now get it at Walgreens and CVS drugstores. They are limited on the items they have but I have seen both the Banana lotion and the Hand Salve there. All of their stuff is great!

I used to have a lot of trouble with my hands cracking. I'd have bandaids on my hands all winter long!! I tried many different lotions (including some mentioned) but nothing helped. Then I found Jergens Ultra Healing lotion. It's not greasy, it's easy to use and does a fantastic job. I've been using it for about five years and my hands don't crack at all.

I also change my use of hand soap in the winter. During the year, we usually use the Dial Antibacterial soap (in a pump) that they sell at the grocery store, Target, etc. However, in the winter we go back to buying Bath & Body Works Moisturizing Anti-Bacterial Hand Soap. We DEFINITELY notice the difference!!! (I also use Kiehl's hand lotion and also their cuticle wax at night, and sleep in cotton gloves during the winter.)

I agree with the above poster. Neutrogena with a red, white and blue tube. Is wonderful. A glove rep at the hospital told my sister about it, since they wash and scrub their hands all the time, it works great. I also like to do the vaseline on hand and feet overnite with cotton socks or gloves.

Eucerin has a new cream out that is just for red hands. Works great. Not greasy at all.

The Neutrogena that everyone is referring to is called the Norwegien formula. My mom uses it exclusively.

L'Occitaine hand cream with shea butter is fabulous.

This is what my nail tech uses when she runs out of the Jurlique hand cream. I agree, it's great!

I love the burts bee's beeswax and banana. It's a little greasy but it works.

But my hands down favorite (pun intended! ) is the Neutrogena stuff in the tube. I can't remember its exact name but it's labelling is red and blue and there's a flag on it. :rotfl: That stuff kicks butt for dry hands. Love it!

I used to use the Neutrogena in a tube, then I switched to "kiss My face" products, then to "Burts Bees" stuff- then my Mom started her natural soap/lotion business locally, and created an ultra rich cream called "Healing Hands"- I've never found anything as good,I'm telling you- I can't live without it in the winter, we use Purell all the time, and it makes for DRY skin-
Vaseline, and anything created with a petroleum by-product sets up your skin/lips for on a dependancy cycle, the more you use, the more you need,
b/c the petroleum product actually drys it out. That's why I started looking into the Natural lines, and ended up with Moms(of course! )
In case you want info her website is www.woodspritessoapery.com She's In Ct, but ships everywhere...

I've seen it at Trade Secret as well recently. I usually get mine at Cracker Barrel or at this little "Mountain People's Co-op", a little Natural Foods store right off my college's main campus. They're the cheapest I've found and carry a lot more from the line than anywhere else I've seen. So might want to check any natural foods stores.

I use Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. You can get it from their website, store, or department stores, like Saks and Neiman Marcus. It's pretty effective, isn't greasy at all, and is unscented.

I feel for you; I'm also from the Northeast. I've tried many of the items other people have posted here, but my absolute favorite is Bath and Body Works "Lay it on Thick" (spa collection, blue tube). It's supposed to be body cream, but I use it exclusively for hands. It's heavy on shea buttter. It's a little too thick for body - I use Aveeno Oil/Lotion (pink bottle) for body because it absorbs quickly and is very soft (not oily). Lay it on Thick has been my stand-by for many years and my hands have never, ever cracked and are soft as gloves all winter long. Feet are a different story - I've been using Allpresan (from the salon) for dry feet and I get regular pedicures. Allpresan works well on DD9 very dry, excezma skin too (not for face however).

I use Avon Moisture Therapy and I put it on constantly. I almost never have dry skin. It's thicker than most lotions so it doesn't have a greasy feel.

from mid oct-mid may all I do is itch.
Kerry lotion has been my savior. It's pricey but worth it.

I forgot about Cracker Barrel. We have a new Whole Foods Store too... they have a big selection as well. :flower:

 Hello MyGoofy26. I am also in Morgantown! My hands are also painfully dry, I will have to check out the Mountain People's Co-Op, though I must confess, I have never been in there before.

Dh and I also use the Bath and Body Works Look Ma New Hands renewing hand lotion with Parafin. It is fron their True Blue spa collection. Dh has very rough dry hands and he loves the stuff. He does not like admitting that it is from Bath and Body, and he has me go buy it for him, but he gets mad when we use "his lotion" It is really great stuff, a bit pricy but worth it in my opiion!

Wow, I'm just checking back and can't believe all the replies!!

I do have Mary Kay Satin Hands but I put it on and when I go to wash my hands I seem to be back to square one. It seems to wash off too quickly.

I am going to check into some of the other stuff after xmas. I went to the mall today and will not even go within a mile of it until after after xmas!! CRAZY!!

thanks everyone - Lori
