Did you retire because you wanted to or because the state is forcing you to? Here in Wisconsin many tears have been shed as long time teachers are being forced into retirement by our Tea Party Governor.
I am also a retired teacher so I totally understand your elation! I remember that my happiest retirement planning involved my first trip to WDW in early December. Hope you are as happy in retirement as I am!
P.S. If you miss the kids, subbing is just great, and doesn't interfere with WDW vacations. I never thought I would like subbing but I thoroughly enjoy it.

And how is he forcing teachers into retirement, exactly?
Just had to share! I am retiring from teaching after 30 years. No more having to visit WDW on school breaks! I have been a member of DVC since 1994, and it will be great to use it any time I want.
Thanks to all for your congrats and good wishes! I am sitting in my office right now waiting for noon to arrive. That is when I can officially go home!

Well today is my first day of retirement and my first day to NOT set my alarm! A friend texted me at 8:15AM to ask what I was doing.......she was at school. LOL!!
Congratulations!!! I too am retiring after 39years in the classroom. I am looking forward to enjoying Bay Lake Towers with my extended family. People always ask me what I am going to do. My reply... Rest and enjoy Disney World!!! Its nice to know others will be doing the same.
