I hear it too-they're just jealous or maybe they're not in touch with their inner child-lol.

I've been 4 times without a child so I can't even say "it's for the kid!" I would go several times a year, if possible, and we live less than 30 minutes from DL, but there is no comparasion. I love both! If you'll notice by my signature, I've been able to accomplish my twice a year goal for a few years-mostly thanks to Free Dining!
I'm lucky in that my mom (a young 66) has gone with me everytime since 1998. The only gaps in our recent visits were from April 2000 to June 2002 (waited for DD to be old enough) and from June 2002 to Dec. 2003. My mom was undergoing breast cancer treatment.

(She's fully recovered now!

) She told her doctor that as soon as she was better, she was
"going to Disney World!" and she (we) did. Now I get to take my DD6-she was almost 3 on her first trip-and see it in her eyes. We're lucky in that our school district is year round and she's off in Jan, May, and Sept. We can take advantage of the smaller crowds.

My fav. time to go is Sept-and that was even before free dining!
We've had different family members join us on some trips, and our last trip (Jan. 06) we had the most people yet. My mom, my 2 sisters (1 was newbie), my adult niece (and DL CM), my DD6, and myself. It was wonderful!

The only time we had any stress was when we were off property, driving to see the rocket launch from Kennedy. We got a little lost

coming back and couldn't find a restroom-boy do we hate those tollways.
Anyway, I don't let those non-Disney nay sayers bother me-We have a great time and are building memories to last a lifetime!

And we do go other places-for short trips-we'll be doing Vegas in May and maybe Sedona AZ. DD loves Vegas (hates the 5 hour car ride though)
