My friend just joined SSR!!!!

While at BWV this week, my friend bought 316 SSR points!! We went over there to check it out, and boy is it nice!! Got FREE ice cream sundaes (nice ice cream place at SSR for buyers/owners), and then my friend bought points at SSR. Saw the model homes (studio, 1BR,2BR), and they are furnished nicely!!

HOWEVER, (I did not tell my friend,as I did not know until after the fact), that SSR studios are 55 sq ft smaller than BWV!! Also, the 1BR is 100 sq. ft SMALLER than the BWV.. So much for the SMALL rooms at BWV huh???

My question is: Since my DW and I referred her, how much money do we get for
"getting her hooked" on DVC?????

You get 200 dollars for the first referral. You can chose that in Disney Dollars, credit on annual dues, credit towards purchase of additional ownership, or donate it to the Red Cross or Give Kids The World. This is the most recent rewards program that I know. If I'm incorrect I'm sure someone else will let you know. Congratulations!

I think you have your room sizes wrong. Webmaster Doc had a thread where he listed all the rooms and resorts and their square footage. There is only 3 sq feet difference in BWV and SSR studios. In fact the 1 and 2 bedroom at SSR are just a little bigger than BWV. If you want to know what the room sizes are just do a search and you will probably get to WebMaster Doc's thread. I don't know how to put a link in this post or I would have done that. Other than OKW, the resorts have approximately the same size rooms. There are a few sq feet difference in some of them, but not 55 or 100.

BWV
Studio-412 sq.ft

Yeah, my friend and I are planning a trip next year. She is very excited about SSR, and it looks very nice. The pool does look a lot smaller than BWV, but that is JMHO... The layout of SSR is nice..

I don't think those room sizes are correct for the majority of the rooms. BWV has some odd shaped corner rooms which are larger than a standard unit. In the past, Disney had reportedly taken some sort of average in publishing their room sizes. Perhaps this time they are publishing the sq ft of the largest unit in the building.

Having stayed in both, I don't see how either could be deemed noticably larger than the other.

Based upon published data, the two pools are almost identical in size. SSR does have the zero entry area, which may give an illusion that it is smaller by comparison. And I'm sure there is more deck space at BWV than at SSR. But the swimming area is pretty much the same.
