My First trip to WDW (but not my last)

30th - Woke up early so as to get to the train station for 8am as we had to check in at 9:45,i wasn't feeling too good, the flight was supposed to leave at 12:45 but didn't leave till about 3, not too bad as i like airports, though gatwick south terminal is better than the north, but after an uneventful 8 hour flight cept for a bit of turbulence we arrive at orlando, and are waved through all the security. Though whats the deal with getting your luggage then having to give it back 5 minutes later???

Anyway we board our little mears shuttle for our hotel and have to wait for the other family who are going to POP.

Re the retruning cases to the airport,
Its my understanding that due to the size of the shuttle trains from the sattelite gates to the main terminal, the idea is to keep the suitcases seperate so as not to screw up the transit system

Ok first day continuation.

After getting to the hotel and finding neither of us were tired so we both headed off to MK.

as we were flagging but not tired we just decided to look round and there was something happening on main st.

Anyway as we were leaving the 3pm parade started.

by this time i was feeling very low and couldn't really breathe properly, we both just thought it was the heat at the time, god were we wrong...
So i headed back to the hotel room and left my GF to wander around.

After getting up early for the first day of the star wars weekends and heading to MGM.

The two guys in the stormtrooper cossies were hilarious.
"So what are these things we are guarding against"
"Well according to the sargent we have humans and tourists"
"so how do you tell the difference???"
"Well the tourists wear wierd clothes"

After hanging around and riding star tours and waiting 2 hours in line to get the badges i wanted we managed to catch the end of the parade, with the world star wars fan club the 501st legion.

And by now i was weezing like a steam train climbing mount everest i went back to the hotel room.

And this was the worst day, i was feeling so bad. Anyway when my GF got back to the room i was in a cold bath and was boiling the water round me. Though boiling may be a slight exaggeration but by the time the hotel doc got to me my temp was 112f. So my first saturday was spent lying in a hospital bed with a drip taking antibiotics for the chest infection i had picked up...
And if you have had one you know how much it hurts

Sorry to hear that you were so poorly, Zeke. I hope you felt better real soon and able to get on with enjoying yourself. Your storm trooper pics are amazing, and I love the pictures of the Pop, I can't wait to be back there!

what a shame you were ill i was going to ask you how the star wars weekend was but i suppose you was not feeling too good to enjoy it much.

The first weekend not really, but was out of the hospital sunday morning, like most times i get ill i get really ill, but not for too long, but was on antibiotics for the whole trip. But i did do the second star wars weekend, but thats still to come...

So anyway the first saturday there was a bust, but i was released from hossie early sunday as i had improved thousand fold. so we went out to animal kingdom.

Was great fun, cept i had to talk my Gf out of trying to get fastpasses for EE as there was a 5 hour wait. And i still was struggling a bit, but had already missed 2 days or so.

its just a pity that the photos aren't as good quality on photo bucket as they really are.

Anyway to end the day slowly i headed out to DTD for the first time, and was quite amazed at it.
