My first trip to WDW and DH's first time being arrested (Dec 2009)

I just finished Epcot on page 11. (I have finally caught up) You seem like a sweet couple. I laugh so hard at your conversations. You are a good writer. I feel that I am with you in the park.

I also find it fun to read because I did get to go to WDW, as did DH, before we met. I always wanted to go to DL and when we finally did he said I was a little girl all over again. He says he will never forget how happy I was on that first trip down Main Street, USA at DL. We are going back next year for a special event trip. Just the two of us.

DH loves my hair french braided. I can't do it myself. I keep telling him to learn how to do it. He said he would like to learn. Can Rig stop by to teach him?! ;)

That was sad how Truck talked to Rig. I thought he would have been happier to see his little brother.

I am in canada and I thought it was only Canadians that say pop...I fee less special:rotfl:

Lee I agree please only post what you and Rig are comfortable with. I am loving your story and you should not post anything that make either of you uncomfortable. Don't worry so much about responding to everyones post either.

My Rig IS a real life cowboy born and bred in Texas who happens to be in Iraq right now. We went to WDW last summer when he was on R&R, but those are my REAL memories.
I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but IMO this is pure fiction. Now, enjoy the rest of the story....

My heart goes out to you. My daughter was in Irac right after 9/11. So was my son-in-law he served bravely up until last year when we lost him. And my youngest son is going to afganistan after the first of the year.:sad1:

It occurred to me that I was at Disney the same time you were there. WEIRD!!! I was at EPCOT with my family on that very rainy day. It was cold and wet and the park was as empty as I have ever seen it.

Waiting patiently for more of your story.

 to your family, I am so sorry. My DH was in the Gulf War and then several deployments after that. It was never easy as his girlfriend/wife, I can't imagine as the mom. Thank you for giving of all of you, I know it is a family sacrifice.

Thank you:hug: I am just thankful that I had my husband (who is not my kids real father but they think he is:lovestruc) standing beside me every time I cried. He is the glue holding me together;)

What about this story makes you so sure it is 100% fiction? Is it because she writes about the lovey dovey stuff instead of rides, food, parades, and such? Is it the lack of pictures? Just wondering what makes you so positive.:confused3
Lee is correct that there are lots of loving, considerate, affectionate, happy couples on the Dis...Timandlesley, Winkers, WendyO, Podsnel, Lurkeyloo just to name a few... (and no offense to anyone I forgot) Their reports just don't highlight it over the WDW exerience. But it's there in their stories none-the-less. Lee's story does focus more on the sap but, true or not, it is interesting reading. :surfweb:
On another note, THANK YOU to your cowboy soldier for his service to our country! Praying for his quick and safe return
thank you, I was trying to say that but didn't quite know how to get it out.

And God bless the cowboy soldier in Iraq.

Lee,
I got so excited to read your last installment that I almost let the cookies burn. They're okay, though. The second batch is just slightly more brown and crispy than the first.:rolleyes1
But I'm finished baking for the evening so I'm ready to read the rest anytime.:lmao:
Dip the slightly more crispy ones in milk. That's what I do.
Oh my gosh me too!!! I wanted something yummy and since the heat finally broke a bit I decided tongiht was the perfect night for cookies. What did you make? I made chocolate chip but made them into warm ice cream sandwiches with mint chocolate chip (light, like it matters!) ice cream, just like in MK!
Omagosh that sounds so good, I am going to have to add that to my menu.

I just have to tell you, as a testament to what a great writer you are and how enthralled we have become to your story, that DH (aka Thumped_Man) and I are currently sitting at McDonald's eating and reading the latest chapter on our phones. We couldn't wait till we got home.

Oh and DH said that he pictures you and Rig like the characters from the movie 8 seconds. Rig as Lane Frost and you Kelly. (Luke Perry & Cynthia Gear)
That is cute, I love you guys.:lovestruc

and 8 seconds is a movie I will put on the list of movies I need to see now. My list for movies and books are growing.

Please do not feel obligated to write anything that you do not feel comfortable posting. I am enjoying your TR so much and do not need you to put things in that are really none of our business. I admit the title of your TR drew me in, but I really thought it would turn out be something like Toy Story Woody jail or something silly like that. I am enjoying the way you write and the story and that is why I keep coming back. Also, thanks to all the other readers and librarians who have given me some names of new authors to check out next time I am at the library. I also am sorry your BIL was so rude the first time you met him. The story about you laughing at the table and then covering it up with nonsense had me laughing out loud. Can't wait for more of the Riglee story.
The thing is I don't feel obligated to write, and I am comfortable maybe too comfortable with putting my story out there. I just wante to make sure Rig was OK with a few things first.

Thank you:hug: I am just thankful that I had my husband (who is not my kids real father but they think he is:lovestruc) standing beside me every time I cried. He is the glue holding me together;)

I am sure that is true and glad you do. My hubby is my rock too and having him makes all the difference.

Okay on a lighter note:goodvibes or maybe not my dad was a truck driver married to mom for 50 years:eek: still newly weds to the mush point. and my hubby is one and they are nothing like this Trucker guy. In fact dad wore a cowboy hat:rolleyes1 he loves his westerns:happytv:

This is how I can't leave packing to the last minute.

I have 4 children. 13, 12, 5, and 3 are their ages. I have been looking ALL OVER THIS HOUSE for clothes I know exist. Looking for clothes that still fit, making sure the clothes I find are clean, and not just thrown back into drawers. Its taken me all day to just sort out their clothes. If I left that to the last minute, it wouldn't be pretty.

I can't even put into words what my living room looks likes.

And then you had to go and put up another chapter!:rotfl:

LOL, Mony, I should send my apoligies for sending you over here at this time :rolleyes1

Gah!! I was hoping the whole story would be on here! Oh well, I'm just going to have to wait like the rest of you. Lee, you're so sweet, I LOVE reading about your trip. I've been pulling all of your posts out into a word document so that I can have my husband read it once it's all there. I know he'll enjoy it too!

I read all 23 pages tonight and was really hoping everything was going to be on here. :surfweb:

Dinner was going well. Truck and I were even exchanging jokes. Rig was smiling so big. he had his brother back, he might not have his parents, but he has his big brother. I started envisioning the Christmas Holidays, maybe Truck could come visit us, or maybe in the summer.

Tonya was still hating being there, she hardly said a word through dinner. She was not part of my happy holiday family vision. Maybe they would get divorced, because Truck would say so.:confused3:lmao:

Dessert was offered, I try not to ever turn down dessert, Rig and I ordered the bannas foster, the waiter said they were huge so we decided to share one.

Truck passed on dessert but wanted another beer, and Tonya got some kind of chocolate cake.

I had never had banannas foster before, it was so good. I know I ate my share plus some of Rigs.

When our checks were brought out Truck made a big deal over the cost of everything, and when he saw Rig just put our card in the bill encasement he said. "Since your meal was free and we ordered appetizers to share, you should just pay for the apppetizers and I will pay for me an Tonyas food."

I was in shock, Rig and I didn't want appetizers and we didn't eat any, sure it wasn't alot of money, it was just the princible. But Rig said sure and handed him money, he also took care of the tip for the whole meal. I suppose it could have been worse, we could of somhow ended paying for the whole meal.

the waiter came over and asked if there was anything else we needed, Rig said "just my hat."

Truck stood up, "Can't forget the hat, people won't know he's a COWBOY if he doesn't wear the hat."

As we were leaving Truck kept pointing to Rig and saying to the diners we were passing, "This is my brother, he's a cowboy."

I was thinking maybe truck had to much to drink, he wasn't drunk, he was just a little mor free with his words.

"You don't ever brokeback mountain with your other cowboy friends do ya?"

"Nope, I don't," Rig started to fidget

I yawned the best fake yawn I could do, "I am so tired, are you ready to go Rig?"

Rig nodded.

"No, Truck said, it's still early, let's find a bar and have a beer."

"Lee can't get into bars, she's only 19"

"Then she can go home and let us brothers go out, c'mon it's been over 3 years."

I didn't want Rig to go out, I wanted him to come back to the resort with me.

Rig shook his head, "No, I'd rather not go to a bar."

"I got some beer back at the motel, let's go there."

Rig still shook his head, "We have to get up early tomorrow."

Truck threw his hands up in defeat, "alright, if you don't want to spend any time with your brother, that's fine, walk out on family again."

"I'm not walking out, we can still talk, I just don't want to go out."

Truck finally gave in, "Ok man, have a good vacation here, I'll call you sometime."
We all said our goodbyes, Truck picked me up when he gave me a hug, and then he slapped Rig hard on the back before walking away. We started to head towards the bus stop when Truck started hollering, "Rig wait, I forgot something."
Rig and I turned back, "Dad gave me something to give to you, but I forgot it at the hotel, he really wanted you to have it."

"Maybe I can get it tomorrow."

"No, I've got too much going on tomorrow, I gotta leave pretty early and we need to return the rental car, can you just come over tonight?"

"We don't have a car here."

"That's alright, I'll drive you back to where you need to be."

I could tell Rig wanted this bad, his whole facial features softened when Truck said he had something for him from their Dad. "what is it?"
"A card or a letter or something."

Rig looked at me I wanted him to get his family back. So I nodded.

"Alright, but you need to let me drive."

Truck laughed, "I can drive."

"Lee and I aren't getting in a car with you unless I drive."

Truck took the key from his pocket and tossed it to Rig.

Rig and I were following Truck and Tonya to their car. We were hanging back a bit. Rig turned to me, "Lee, are you sure you're ok with this?"

"Yeah Rig I'm fine."

"I'll just get the letter and then we'll get a cab back to the resort."

It might be, it might not be. It doesn't really matter. What matters is, do you like it?

If it is fiction, the decision to write it as a trip report on an internet forum is pretty ingenious. I've experimented with doing that myself, but not exactly the same way; I wrote very obvious fiction. IMO, this is good, not perfectly polished, but good and fun. I like the voice. I enjoy it, so it's veracity is irrelevant. I can imagine it being real, and that is enough.

You and me both! We leave Friday too...I sooooo need to be packing, but theres this little thing called a Trip Report that I keep coming back to!! :rotfl: Where are ya'll staying at? We are staying at CBR!

No offense to the OP, but I don't believe this Trip Report for one minute. I think the whole thing is made up. Sounds far too sappy.....

I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but IMO this is pure fiction. Now, enjoy the rest of the story....

I agree with these 2 posts. Even though I have been reading this thread every day, I am reading into it more as a good fictional book, rather than a real life story.

:thumbsup2

I'm with you. At first, I didn't believe a word of it. I directed a friend to read it to see if she agreed with my feelings. I even picked out a couple contradictions and things that just didn't add up based on how MK is. The more I've gotten into it, and I've been reading since page two posted, the more I hope it's real.

HOWEVER, fact or fiction, Lee, you have me hooked and I am sooo not a sappy romance novel reader. It does remind me in bits about my husband and I. Our relationship started in the same fashion, although I couldn't imagine not letting my family know where I went eventually. (I think I called a week later, even though nothing ever improved there.) I do worry someday you might find yourself wishing you'd contacted your mother, or this sister you miss at holidays. I lost my mom unexpectedly in 2008 and so wish I'd had a chance to say some things I never did. Just something you should think about. The sweet way Rig is, doors and carrying things, sappy sweet comments, etc, makes me think of my dh, as well. I chose to leave the sap out of my TR though. :rotfl:

Can't wait to find out about this arrest!

Im confused.. there can only be one RIG in the world. and he just happens to be yours.

"REAL" memories as opposed to "FAKE" memories :confused3

A lot of us are really enjoying this thread whether it is up to your standards or not. So if you do not believe it.. then stop reading it.
