My first trip to WDW and DH's first time being arrested (Dec 2009)

You are writing a phenomenal trip report. I am working on my first one, and hope that I can remember all the little details that you are. They are definitely adding to your amazing story. Cant wait to hear what happens to Rig. Maybe in the next installment?

YAY! Lee's up! I was reading my BF some of your story and I would stop one section and he would go, do you want to read me the next section? We were talking later and I guess I talked too much too because he said I was always asking him questions and talking.

My mom is headed to the library to read your story. She has dial up too, and it takes forever! Hope you enjoy it Mom!
I think it must be a man thing to think that woman talk too much. I don't think Rig talks enough.

Your mom is going to read my story at the library? I am in the library now.
Have you ever seen The movie Coal Minors daughter? One of my favorite lines is when Loretta (sissy spacek) says, "I just wrote me a song, your momma is a dadgum song writer."

I can't wait to tell Rig, "People are going to the library to read my story, your wife is a dadgum story writer."

This is fantastic! Cant' wait to read more. It makes me think of a Lifetime movie. You have me hooked to read the rest.

PLEASE write more soon!
Oh noooooo, Rig would hate to think that our story is like a Lifetime movie, he hates lifetime. I love it though, I watch a movie off their a couple times a week. I think they have some great movies.

:thumbsup2 popcorn:: GREAT TRIP REPORT SO FAR!!! I agree with other posters that you should MOST definitely write a novel ( I would buy it) your writing is wonderful! So much so that I couldn’t get any work done at all day yesterday and read all the way to page 14! I believe with your back story, your family life and Rigs it would make for a great book, it also maybe be therapeutic for you (if you have a need to get it out) I cant believe that you are still so young and you seem like you have lived through so much in your short life (if that makes any sense??) I would compare your writing to some of Danielle Steele’s I have read a lot of her books. I too do not need any pictures and love when a “book” comes to life in my mind. BTW my dh and I will be married 25 years next Oct we “Disneymooned” also (I turned 21 on our honeymoon) I wish you and Rig many happy years together!! :goodvibes

thank you so much. Remembering details comes easy to me, (it comes in handy when trying to win an argument too) I do have to add a little dramatic flare here and there, but the feelings I share and the conversations we carried all happened.

I had him read what I had written so far, he was impressed with my writing, but didn't like that I had said anything about him going to jail. He talked loud to me for quite some time.

"Lee, why would you go and tell people about that, and why would you go and put it in your title no less, people are going to think I'm a lunatic or something, I said don't be throwing my secrets out like that."

"It's just a few readers on the Disboards."

"IT"S THE INTERNET>"

"Exciting titles draw in the readers, one ladys title said she would make a great stripper, do you know how many people are reading her story now?"

"So you throw your husband under the bus to get readers?"

"Omagosh Rig, you make it sound cheap"

"My husband got arrested at Disney? You don't think that's cheap?"

"No, it's a good story, people want to know what happened."

"You're killing me babylee."

But then he smiled that smile at me, the one that says, "You're nuts but I love you."

So hold on, I will have the next chapter up tonight.

Obviously, I'm still on page 2, but I had to comment. Rig is coming across as a gentleman in this trip report, so he shouldn't worry so much. I'm sure that whatever the reason is for spending the night in the pokey, it will be an interesting story. Enjoy your wife, Rig. She's a great story teller.

I would love to tell the story of Rig and I, my home life before I met Rig would be the hardest part to write about, but yes I guess it would be good therapy. I feel like I did alot of living after I met Rig, especially during the two years we secretly dated. Omagosh some of the things we did to see eachother and almost got caught, I was practically living a double life.
congratulations:cheer2: 25 years, that is just so amazing, Do you have special plans? a big party or something? I love parties.

wow, page 2 seems like ages ago. I hope you enjoy catching up.

Rig is the perfect cowboy gentleman. He works hard and loves hard.

Okay...so I just spent two hours at work getting caught up. This TR was so addictive!!! Please...please...please try to convince Rig to let you post pics. I am so picturing myself here but pictures would help! I really wish you could clone him. I have to admit that my DH, whom I love dearly, is more like Grant. Don't forget the bag!!! Ugh! Maybe he could teach chivalry classes?? HA! :lmao:

Your writing is AMAZING. I so agree with the others you need to write a book. I would surely buy it. My DH friend just wrote a book and we purchased it on Amazon.

My co workers think I am nuts. There was a lot of snort laughing and other noises coming from behind my cubicle as I was reading this. Sooo very entertaining! Thank you so much. It made my day.

I thought you were kidding that his brothers name was Truck. Very free spirited parents. I must admit; the name Rig is very intriguing and seems very fitting for a cowboy.

You two sound so much in love and perfect for each other. I am so happy you followed your heart. :lovestruc Can't wait for more updates.:yay::cheer2::love::woohoo:

BTW, I don't know if someone explained it to you but CM means Cast Member.

We got back to our room and put on our jammies. Rig and I layed on the bed and started flipping through the channels on TV.

It wasn't long before Rig had fallen asleep. I tried to sleep, I had too much running through my head. Excitement from all we had done so far and excitement for what was still to come. I turned off the TV and just lay there.
Rig and I get some of our best sleep on rainy days, but sleep just wouldn't come to me this day
the curtains were drawn making it dark in the room, the fact that it was still gray outside only added to the darkness inside, it was about 3 in the afternoon but felt much later than that.

I thought about getting up and ironing my outfit for that night, and then the thought occured to me, Rig had only brought 5 pair of jeans for this trip and he had already gone through 4 of them. ( he makes too much laundry for me all the time) I figured we would be too tired to wash clothes when we got back tonight, and I didn't want to have to get up and do it tomorrow before going to animal Kingdom. I had the time now, I would just do it now. So I got up and got dressed.

I gathered all of his clothes and some of mine. His jean jacket didn't really need washed but it needed dried, so I grabbed that too, stuffed everything into our mesh laundry bag, took some money out of Rigs wallet, grabbed the book I was reading and made my way to find the laundry room.

I asked a nice lady on the elevator if she knew where it was and she said she was heading to the petals bar and she would show me where the laundry room was.

It was still raining, I'm glad I had worn my poncho.

I made small talk with the lady, she was leaving the next day and was disappointed that her last day had to be a rainy one. Rig says rain is a part of life, never be disappointed, spoiled plans can be remade, but we can't live without rain. So I never sweat the rain, I take it stride. but this poor lady was really in despair over it, she hated spending her last day at the resort, she wanted to spend it at Magic Kingdom.
"why don't you buy a poncho and go to Magic Kingdom."

"My husband doesn't like being out in the rain, it makes his back ache."

"Would he mind if you went without him?"

"No he doesn't care what I do."

"then go without him, forget about the rain, practically all of the rides at Magic Kingdom are indoors any way."

"well, maybe I will."

We said our goodbyes and nice to meet yas, good to talk to ya's and then parted ways near the laundry room.

doing laundry at disney is a little more exciting then doing it at home, which isn't much to say the least. I knew I would be doing laundry on this trip, but didn't think it would be so soon.

I started the process of cleaning our clothes and read my book in between. Rig was right, I really shouldn't have been reading that book at disney.

After a while the clothes were washed, dried, folded and in the bag. I made the walk back to our room.

Rig was still asleep when I came in, I hung up our shirts and put the jeans away in the drawer, then I got my jammies back on and crawled back into bed with Rig.

I set the alarm to go off in an hour just incase I did fall asleep.

I never really slept, just maybe a twilight nap, one where you eyes are closed and your body is relaxed but your mind is alittle bit more awake to fully let you sleep.

teh alarm went off and I got into the shower. when I came out Rig was up. "Babylee, did you do wash?"

"I had to, you wouldn't have anything clean for tommorrow." He kissed my head and said "thankyou baby, you're a good wife to me."

He grabbed some clothes and went in to shower.

He came out later all clean and smelling like body wash and cologne.

Rig was taking a break from his wranglers and instead wearing a pair of dark blue levis. His button down was light blue cotton, one of my favorites, I had gotten it for him last christmas.

"I think I'm going to leave my cowboy hat here tonight."

"OK," I figured maybe it was just too wet to wear, it didn't phase me then. Sometimes Rig goes out without his cowboy hat, sometimes he will wear a ball cap, sometimes he won't wear a hat at all.

I had brought along a nice outfit to wear tonight, I was ironing the black slacks when Rig came over, he stood behind me and put his arms around me while I ironed, "babylee, don't dress fancy tongiht."

"It's not fancy Rig, it's just some dress pants."

He grabbed the slacks off the ironing board and threw them on the bed. "You don't need to dress up for my brother, just wear what you wore earlier."

"why Rig? what does it matter?"

"It doesn't matter, just be yourself, don't be fancy, you're not fancy at home, don't be fancy here."

"Be myself Rig? You are telling me to be myself when everything about the way you are dressed screams I'm not a cowboy. Why aren't you really going to wear your hat tonight?"

Rig just stood there staring at me. he was twitching his jaw. He picked his hat up from the table and put it on his head, grabbed his jacket an dopened the door. "I'll meet you outside." and then he left.

I slumped down on the bed. Rig and I have had arguments before over things more stupid then this, sometimes he will walk away, sometimes I will walk away. It always hurts, but we always find eachother and talk it out. It just seemed to crush me harder that we were having an argument at disney world.

I put on a pair of jeans and the same yellow hoodie I wore earlier, grabbed my poncho and headed down to the bus stop.

I found Rig sitting on a bench, he was leaned forward and had his elbows resting on his knees. I sat down by Rig, not saying anything, not sure of what to say anyway. A bus came for downtown disney, rRg didn't move, he didn't even look up. The bus filled to half capacity before leaving.

It was another 10 minutes before Rig spoke. "I wanted to work on a ranch since I was a kid, I loved horses, I loved looking out and seeing herds of cattle, I liked the energy it made me feel."

I knew this already, he had told me this before, but I just listened still.

"Truck makes fun of anything that isn't like him."

"Is that why you weren't going to wear your hat?"

He sat up and shrugged, letting out a deep sigh. "I don't know, maybe, no...I don't know."

"I'm sorry Rig, I didn't think seeing Truck would be this hard on you, I should have been more understanding."

"don't apologize Babylee, I wasn't being fair to you, you didn't deserve the attitude I gave you, I'm just thinking I want this so bad, but it probably isn't a good idea."

"It's just dinner Rig, we can leave right after dinner if things don't go well, we don't have to stay."

Another bus for Downtown disney was pulling in. "We don't have to go if you don't want to.' Rig stood up and took my hands pulling me up too. "No babylee, let's go, it's about time my brother met my wife."

the bus ride to Downtown disney was quiet, Rigs jaw kept twitching, another habit when he is nervous or deep in thought. Rig said we didn't have to get off at the first bus stop, they had 2 for downtown Disney. so we waited and exited at the second stop.

I could see Planet Hollywood from the parking lot. It was still lightly raining so I was happy the walk wasn't along one.

We got to the restaurant, the reservation was under our name, but we still checked to see if Truck had maybe shown up. He hadn't.
We waited under the awning, it was getting real close to our reservation, I was afraid that Truck might have backed out of coming, I mean if Rig and I talked about backing out maybe Truck was having some last minute thoughts too. Rig and I were watching the parking lot for Truck when we heard a "YeeeeeHaaawww, how's it going brokeback mountain.?"

Uh oh. Headed to downtown Disney. The plot thickens. :scared1: :lmao: I'm willing to bet he gets into a fight with his brother since he didn't part very well with his family. Bets anyone? Bets? J/K. Loving it. Can't wait to read what happens next.

I honestly think you have the whole Disboards hooked now. I hoping you're keeping a separate file with all this writing. People would love the book.

Wow. I wouldn't be too happy if I was Rig and that was my greeting from my brother. All I could think about was how rude it was to start the night with a comment like that. I mean they hadn't seen or really talked in how long! Not cool!

Well, I am never going to get lunch for the kids and the laundry done now!! lol I will have to keep checking back to see what happens!! Thanks for sharing your story with us Lee!!

OK....I've been lurking enough, and I feel it's time for me to at least post and say, WOW! I really can't stop reading your TR. I know my DH commented earlier on how he is not an avid reader like I am, and yet, I was the one that had to catch up on this as he had already finished the last chapter before I did...That's a feat all in itself, to get him to read :rotfl: That said, I have to agree with everyone else on this thread, you are a terrific writer, and I believe that has to do with the fact that you lived this, and you are writing not only from your experience but writing it as if you were talking to us like girlfriends would chat over coffee. it! I can't wait for the next installment of "As the WORLD turns, with RIGLEE!" :surfweb:

Ohhh...good thinking! I hope she comes back soon to finish. I hope it goes well though. I would love to see Rig and Truck get along. This sure is reading like a book. Great idea to print this out and keep to base the book on.

This is great!!! I have lost hours of sleep trying to read this trip report! Can not wait for the rest!!!!!!
I have lost hours of sleep trying to write it:lmao: I am happy that you like it.

Your tha bag carrier?:scared1: it's time to teach the old dog some new tricks.;)
Oh wow, you know somebody that wrote a book? that is so cool.

Did anybody come over to your cubicle to check on you? All the snorting and going ons would have me worried, or scared.

I like Rigs name, I'm glad his parents named him that, I think it's alot of who he is, and I agree with you, Rig is the perfect cowboy name. Although we have a friend named Colt, I think that's a great cowboy name too.

I haven't brought up pictures with Rig in a few days. I have to pace myself, drop little hints here and there.

Thumper_Man, I think it is a given by now that the fighthappens between Rig and Truck, you should be taking bets on who won.:lmao:

I've made it to page 10 and I have one thing to say. This is the ONLY trip report on ANY site that didn't have pictures and I still read it. Your writing is fantastic and the descriptions make it so easy to envision what you guys were doing each day.

And I give a nod to Rig for keeping chivalry alive and for being a cowboy these days when it's not the norm. You two sound like a great couple and I'm glad you were able to overcome the problems you encountered from your families.

Enough of my rambling, back to reading your TR.

I just found your TR, sat down for about 2 hours and read it...and I am ADDICTED! You are a fantastic writer!! You and your husband have a very sweet sounding relationship and some of the comments you all make towards each other crack me up! Please, keep writing, not just a trip report but keep writing - I'd read anything you wrote!!

OK, I seriously thought it was a joke when you asked Rig about his name and why his parents didn't just name him "Truck" Then he said because his brother's name is Truck! So it really is Truck! Wow...his parents really did like their job! I do think Trucker sounds cool though...but Rig is a Really Cool name!

Okay, I thought Rig must have been joking too when he said his brother's name was Trucker. Both are cool names! I wonder if Trucker gets called Tucker?

Lee, I made the comment about the innocence of your writing. Did not mean anything toward your grammar, punctuation, etc. And actually maybe "refreshing" was a better way to describe your writing. You write in a way that just stands out from other people's. I love it! So don't change the way you share your thoughts or jump from topic to topic. Your voice shines through in your writing. :)

And thanks for offering to add my son to your church's prayer list. That is very sweet. He actually was just having his annual checkup. He had a heart defect at birth that was repaired when he was 1.5 years old, so just has to have yearly follow-ups. He wasn't too cooperative during the appointment, but they did manage to get some good shots from the echo and all looks well. Prayers are still always appreciated for him. :flower3:

Looking forward to reading more! popcorn::

Just wanted to say I am addicted to your TR!

You are a fantastic storyteller and I am hooked :thumbsup2

Thumper_Man, I think it is a given by now that the fighthappens between Rig and Truck, you should be taking bets on who won.:lmao:

I'm betting that Rig won!

Oh goodness, you made me hungry for the Coral Reef now! Isn't the whole glass wall neat? It sure is fun looking at all the fish and over sea life swimming by. I do have to say though, if I ordered fish or something, I would feel bad for any other fish swimming by, like I was eating their brother or sister. But SO glad you ordered the chocolate wave! Isn't it amazing? I loved it just as much as you did!

Spaceship Earth is the perfect place to relax and take a nap! It's so hard not to fall asleep on it.

Uh oh...I have a feeling the arrest story happens at DTD when you meet up with Truck?! :surfweb:
