Oh thanks for that, you make it sound as if its going to ruin it, but how bad do the hurricanes get in orlando? I thought it was just bad on the actual coast:scared:

We have been two years on the trot in July. First time was very humid the second not so. Both times only saw a couple of heavy storms that were over in 5 minutes, didn't experience any hurricanes, though experienced a tornado back in 1998.

It is very hard to predict hurricanes and from all accounts they are very nasty if you are in the path of them. Coastal areas experience them worse as the hurricane loses its power as it goes over land. However, a couple of years ago in 2004 Florida was hit by a record number of hurricanes. The most serious one being the one that devastated Orleans (which isn't in Florida). Usually though, I believe, Orlando tends to suffer from heavy rain and wind from the outskirts of a hurricane and not often the full brunt of one. I think hurricane season lasts from June to November so if you want to go then, this is the chance you take.

Oh, don't worry about it. At that time of the year it's inevitible that there will be a hurricane or two out in the Atlantic or Gulf somewhere and it's just something that you have to keep an eye on by listening to the weather report daily. And then you wish for them go somewhere else and they usually do.

2004 was an incredible and unprecented year when we had 4 hurricanes cross near Orlando, all within about 3 months. We all hope nothing like that ever happens again. It is less likely to be effected inland like Orlando than along the coast but hurricanes can effect a broad area with wind and rain.
