My first trip at 42

Hi All!

At 42 I am making my first trip to the World - - August 29th - September 5th. My husband (40) and step-son (19) are coming too, but they have both been before. I am super excited and planning away...they think I have gone over the edge. I have all of my ADRS and now am just trying to learn everything I need to know to get the most out of the trip. My husband told me I am planning too much and it won't be any fun because I am worrying too much about it.

So...I have been lurking on the board for the last couple of weeks...and am happy to find that you are all like me...I am not going over the edge

At 40 I've been more times than I can count, and still plan like a madwoman every year we go - enjoy the planning, it makes it more fun while you wait for your trip to get here
Where are you staying? We'll be there Aug. 23-Sept.4

We are on a tight budget...so we are staying at the Pop Century. I really would like to stay at the Poly...maybe next time!

Don't fret about Pop Century, it's a great resort. We, too, have felt the economic pinch in the last year. Our home resort is Saratoga Springs, which we love staying at. But this year we opted to stay at Coronado Springs, and let me tell you, it was FABULOUS. On our very first family trip we stayed at All Star Movies, and it was great. Just remember, your at the most magical place on earth, you can't go wrong!

My husband thought I was planning too much until he went with up the first time. He had not been since the 80's. When we got there he had to admit he was glad I am a planner. If you don't have some kind of plan you will miss a bunch. Now he leaves it all up to me.

You're not going over the edge at all! You sound just like me! I'm 23 and I will be going to WDW for the first time this fall with my boyfriend. I've been to DL quite a few times, but never WDW. He's been to both parks. I am so excited about my planning and it's driving my boyfriend crazy!! In fact, he sounds just like your husband! It's my first time so I want to be fully prepared for the trip! So it's nice to see other people as enthusiastic as I am!
