My first pin! I found the secret! Will we get more?

I received my first pin from doing the same thing. I got a % off the room rate though. I think it was 30-40%. They never told me exactly how much off I got they just gave me the difference between the regular quote and the quote with the discount. I was calling to make a change to a quote I received the day before and I asked if I had a pin on my account and sure enough I DID

I've gotten pins in the past but never when I was able to use them. I finally baited them into a pin when I needed it today! Made new email address, saved vacations, ordered the DVD, called to see if there was a pin...and then about 2 weeks later I got an "Explore Your Disney Resort Picks, ***** Family!" email. Got my 40% off deluxe code and saved over $700 on our Christmas vacation

I definitely think it's the saved vacations + new email that triggered it

I got two last year after returning from our last trip (neither one I could use *cries*) and one this year. I ordered the planning DVD last year summer to see if I'd get another one and I spent some time messing around with saving offers online, but I do that every year...

I'm going to have to try that. I've only gone in December, and I always get PINs that are only good in the summer, and I'm sorry, WDW, I'm not going to visit you in the summer. Maybe I need another identity.

I actually got one by doing this. I've gotten a few email pins before, but this was a mailing to my new address (updated it since I had moved). Today, I got a nice discount for the time and place I hoped. Now to talk DGF into it...

So I thought I'd give it a try for a pin, and I applied online for the vacation video's and free park maps. The next day I got two emails from Disney with just some generic gp discounts, then on day 2 (today) I got my first pin!! It's not a very good one, values for $76, mods for $126 and deluxe for $220 a night. It's only good for next December, so I guess if I wanted to go for Xmas it would be good, but that's not gonna happen. But hey I was so excited to get a pin I almost booked anyway!!! Does anyone know, now that I've been added to the "LIST" will I get getting pins? I'm so happy about a pin, isn't that a sad statement about my life?

I would call and inquire about the dates of the pin you recieved that was good for December.

DH rec'd a pin which stated it was good for 12/1 to 12/22 I called and inquired about the dates the pin was good for and found out it was good from Oct 18 to end of the year. It was only 20% but better than nothing and was for the time we wanted to go this year

2008 & 2009 we 40% off pins! 2011 we took advantage of the 35% off general discount-all of these for deluxes. This year I did the save my vacation thing and my dh ordered the dvd. He hasn't received anything and I received a measly 10% off. Business is picking up for Disney so I'm not sure we'll be seeing 40% again.

I did everything the same as you and never got one until I called them and asked. Then they said to me well I don't see that you're added to our system, which they then did and I got one the next day! From what the CM said the website and the booking system don't necessarily have the same people entered? I have no idea.

Last year we got PIN after PIN starting in January and I didn't do anything! This year I've saved trips, ordered the dvd and keep calling and I can't get a PIN to save my life!

Don't be chicken, the CM's are very helpful and you've got nothing to lose and maybe something to gain $ CALL!!!!
