Attending this vacation: My wonderful boyfriend ::MickeyMo and I ::MinnieMo

January 23rd-29th

Hotel: Pop Century

Rooms: Small but ok for 2-4 people. It might be a little tight with 4 people. I didn’t like the fact that when I laid my head down it was less then two feet from the door. :confused3 It was clean and I did not have a problem with any noise. I hear people complain about this a lot and my view of that is there to use to their suburb home. I live in a city and I am use to having noise all around me. So if you don’t mind an occasional close of a door or a flush of a toilet you will be fine. :smooth:

Food Court: It was ok. We ate there a few times. Some things were reasonably priced and others things were ridiculously priced. For example Chicken fingers with french fries and an additional basket of fries with a drink cost $11.00 not to bad. Then you have a coffee with a muffin, a pint size of orange juice and a yogurt. $14.00 WHAT???? The food was ok. Food court was clean for the most part.

Hotel Service: I am making note of this because customer service is huge to me. I work in the customer service field so I am always very judgmental on this matter.
The customer service of this hotel is phenomenal! I can’t say enough. Very friendly and helpful. :thumbsup2

Disney Transportation:

Magical Express: Quick and efficient comfy bus

Transpiration to the parks: Very well organized. Did not wait more then five minuets for the bus. Keep in mind that Pop Century does not share routes with other resorts.

This next part of the review I’m just going to mostly rate the restaurant and food experience that I had at the parks. Plus point out the rides I liked the most. I loved the whole Disney experience so for me to go on and on about each thing I did, we would be here for a long time and my fingers would fall off from typing! :p

Magic Kingdom:

Favorite ride: Pirates of the Caribbean! I love the way this ride was done! :yay:

Food: Ate breakfast at The Crystal Palace. Food was good and our waitress was ok. We just had snacks for lunch and decided to eat Dinner here as well. Once again food was good, this time our waiter was wonderful. What I really liked about this place was they were a constant flow of fresh food out. I saw them switching out food that was sitting out for a little while. We did enjoy Pooh and friends, a great addition to this restaurant! :cheer2:

MGM:

Favorite Ride: Tower of Terror again another ride that was done well! I also loved Fantasmic it kept me on the edge of my seat! :bounce:

Food: I had plans to eat lunch at the Sci-fi Drive Inn. Due to water problems they were closed for the day. :rolleyes2 So we headed to Mamma Melrose’s for lunch instead. We had pretty good service. We asked for the chicken parm even though it was not on the lunch menu. We got what we asked for. Our waiter was ok. The chicken parm was decent. I have had better.
We ended up eating at our hotel that night for dinner.

EPCOT:

Favorite thing to do: Visit all the countries!

Food: I wanted to eat Lunch in Germany at the Beirgarten and dinner at Le Cellier. Well my plans didn’t work out that way. I was starving by the time lunch rolled around and Germany was on the other side of the park. We ate at The Electric Umbrella. Food was ok for counter service. We had burgers and I liked the fixings bar.
For dinner we did eat at the Beirgarten. What a cute place on the inside! I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. The buffet was good. The Black Forest cake is to die for! The service was good.

Animal Kingdom:

Nice Park, I liked the way it was set up with Africa and Asia settings.
We ate lunch at the Flame Tree. Food was good and so was the price. I had the smoked half chicken. It was yummy and so were the baked beans that came with it. My lover had the pork sandwich and he said it was pretty good!

Dinner that night, we went back to MGM to do a few more rides, and try hitting up the Sci-Fi Restaurant. Bf loves sci-fi movies and wanted to eat there. They were up and running for business. What can I say, this place is unique. Great atmosphere! We both had burgers and I had a Marsha’s Martian. It was yummy! We had great service here as well!

Downtown Disney

We went to Downtown a few times. Once during the day and twice at night. It was an ok place. With a few different things to do. Try to avoid this place on a Saturday night unless you like to bar hop. The place was crawling with hood rats! If you know what I mean? :rolleyes1 Didn’t do any of the bars. We did catch a movie and ate.
Earl of Sandwich: We both had the Scuddeto and it was fantastic!
House of Blues: We just ate pizza here. Not bad, and the atmosphere was pretty cool and good service
Raglan Road Irish Pub: Ate dinner here. I had pork chops, and BF had Fish and Chips. Both excellent! Service ok.

Boardwalk

We decided to walk around the boardwalk. It was nice. I enjoyed it. We grabbed lunch at ESPN Club. It was pretty good. Service wasn’t the greatest. We started with the nachos. Oh they were good. Then I had buffalo tenders. They were ok, they were hot and that’s how I like them, but our waitress was no where to be found and I needed a drink refill badly! :firefight BF had a burger, and he said it was pretty good!

I want to make a quick mention on something that happened that was kind of humorous but could have been worse. Look out for those people on those motorized carts or little electronic wheel chairs. We were at Magic Kingdom watching wishes. When it was over everyone was making a mad dash out of the park. We were following the crowd out and all of a sudden I here an OUCH DAMN IT MY FOOT MY FOOT YOU RAN OVER MY FOOT!!! My poor BF decided to wear sandals to the park and a little old man ran right over his foot with his cart! He just looked at BF standing they’re hopping on one leg trying not to let the curse words flow, and he kept on driving…IT was a HIT and RUN! :moped: Luckily we were right near a first aide station where BF’s wounds were treated! He is now permanently scared and afraid of old men and mobilized carts! :scared1:

Over all I really enjoyed my First Disney Experience! :lovestruc There is a lot of magic here, :tink: and I can see why this place is as successful as it is, and why thousands of people all over the world flock here every year! I do hope to return someday with children of my own. Probably sometime in the next five or six years. Next time I would like to upgrade to a moderate hotel. I look forward to it. I want to thank everyone on this site for your reviews and your responses to my posts. This is a wonderful forum and you guys are great! :disrocks:

Next trip: Cruise to Alaska Summer 2007

Sounds like you had a great time except for the old man with the electric scooter. It's a wonderful and magical place to visit!!!!

Glad you had a great time.

Welcome to the DIS, Beans!

What a great time you had! I love the Earl of Sandwich! And Tower of Terror is one of my favorite rides, too :)

Ouch about your BF's foot!

Keep on posting :)

Sounds like you had a great time. But what did you mean about the "hood rats?" We will be down there in March. Just wanted to know what you meant.

Enjoyed reading your reports ~ Thanx for sharing.

What I meant was on Saturday night around 10 pm in Downtown Disney there was alot of ghetto out. I saw two young ladies get into a fist fight, and the things they were saying to each other, I wouldnt want my child to here. No one bothered me but I can see lots of trouble brewing if it came down to it. :confused3

Good report.

They should have a big number on each of those motorized carts. In case someone really injures a pedestrian, you can track them down. :thumbsup2

It sounds great except for the "old-man-running-over-your-boyfriends-foot" :cool1:
