First let me say that I'm very much a beginner to this whole digital thing. Been using Elements for years to manipulate my photos, but just recently got into the digi scrappie thing.

As you can see, I'm very much a traditional-style scrapper. I like lots of pictures and lots of journaling. I have some stickers (real ones) that would work great on this page, but I have feeling that I'm not allowed to scan them and plop them down. Anybody know about that one? BTW this is a two-page spread, and I built it that way--24x12 inch document.

I'm thinking of attempting to digi scrap my last WDW visit--I only have some 1200 pics from that trip!  :scared1:

UPDATED: With stickers.

I don't understand why you can't scan a sticker that you bought and use it on your digital page. I can see not sharing it with others, but you should be able to use it yourself. Why not?? You paid for it, so use it however you want. Thanks for sharing your pages. They are great! I'm so tempted to try digital scrapping, but what would I do with ALL of the STUFF I have?? Scary thought!.................P

I scan in Disney stickers and papers to use on my digital layouts. Since you are new to digi, it's customary to note your paper and element credits if you post to a scrapbooking site (although we don't normally post credits here). When you scan in something like stickers, just add that to your credits. I used a bunch of scanned in stickers on my IASW layout.

Yeah, I'm having those thoughts as well.

About the stickers, I'm just concerned about copyright.

IASW= It's a Small World

I've heard of scanning papers & stickers, but admittedly it's a gray area. I'm sure that one of the problems that manufacturers have with that idea is the fact that you can scan & reuse items, unlike in traditional scrapbooking where you use it once & it's gone. So, in theory they lose a sale if you want more than one of a sticker, for instance. It's one of those things that gets debated in scrapbook forums. I doubt for personal use that you'd find yourself in trouble. But don't take that as actual legal advice, though. :)

Oh, and the pages you did look great!!! I've done some single picture LOs, but for things like trips & events, I make multi-pic LOs as well.

Great looking pages. Yeah, I don't know about the scanning thing, but I would think unless you are profiting from the pages it wouldn't really matter.

Great pages! I love how neat & Clean digi pages look. Looks like a very fun day!

Yeah, I like the neat and clean look too. What's cool about digi scrapping, is that you can really mess with your photos to get them to just the right size to fit on your page. I've always been somewhat of a puzzle page scrapper, cramming as many photos as possible on my pages. Of course, that ends up taking awhile as well. I'm hoping as I get better at this, it will go a little faster. Another thing is the variety of color is endless. I can sample away, to get just the right color for the layout. I worked hard on the colors for this layout--wanted to stick with "manly man" colors.

Hit the nail on the head, Beasleybear. I'm attempting to put myself into the artist's shoes.

Great pages!!! We did a fishing excursion too , but I haven't gotten to scrapping yet. I'm a couple of trips behind. Anyway, it was fun, highly recommend the fishing excursions!!

I think you may have your date wrong though. Are you saying 9 Dec 07 (2007?) That will very easy to fix in digital I did this same thing on a page of my son's first steps, I put the date down as Dec '94 when he wasn't born until Mar '95. :rotfl:

You're right, at least it was an easy digital fix. I really have a cow when I do that one a paper page.

Great lo's!!

As for the scanning in stickers thing.. you bought them, you own them, you can do what you want as far as using them in your OWN books. It would just be wrong to say scan them, then try to copy the images for sale, or to use in a paid scrap job.. but, for personal use -- your fine. They can't stop you there.
That is exactly what i plan on doing when i get a good scanner this summer. It's a smart move -- if only the big co.'s would get in the groove with digi scrappin, they would be making some great money on digi elements and kits..

oh well................. til then, we have our scanners. LOL ;)

I actually heard on one of the digital scrapbook boards that at the last convention (CHA, maybe?), one of the paper manufacturers is releasing their latest paper sets in both paper & digital form. So, they may be catching on. :)

That would be so cool.. here's hopin!
