My First Dining Report!! BOG dinner

I'm glad you enjoyed MSB. I have no issues with the Starbucks myself. ;)

I love that lone piece of cake in your photo that has clearly tumbled off the shelf, knocking over the cupcake sign in the process. I don't know why, but it is cracking me up a little.

fantastic photos and reviews so far..

I love the looks of that seafood chowder and the pot roast..always wondered how it was..

My favorite dessert has been the sorbet when I go to a sit down..sort of fills in the places that dinner missed..

thanks again for your reviews

LTT lunch is great, we love it! I really don't like all the super sweet dessert stuff so the sorbet is always a great choice for me!

Mmmmmm , I love Min & Bills dockside , your kids picked the perfect meal , I wish I had of know you could leave the Dijon off , I would have preferred regular yellow mustard .
Great reviews , can't wait for the rest !

Thanks!

Haha, me too. I was thinking maybe I was the only one who noticed!

We had dinner at Pinnochio Village Haus. They have had this menu for a few years I think but I hadn't tried it yet. It was right at fireworks time, so we grabbed out food and moved to an outside table. But it was windy that night and the CM told us we had to move back inside since theywere worried about fireworks fallout.

DH had the BBQ chicken flatbread:

I had the pepperoni flatbread:

Little one had mac and cheese:

My older one still wasn't 100%, so she decided on the power pack so she could just snack a little at a time:

It had Goldfish, a jelly sandwich, yogurt, carrots and apple slices.

This was a solid meal. They flat-breads were cooked when we ordered them, so they weren't sitting around being warmed. Mac and cheese was standard, and the power pack was a welcome change of pace.

We have never tried Pinnochio Village Haus, so it is really interesting to read your review. The flatbreads actually looks really tasty. And I think the Power Pack is a great idea!

The next day was Epcot. We walked from the BC to the IG which was awesome! So nice walking instead of taking transportation. Since we were back there we stopped at France - Les Halles Boulangerie & Pâtisserie for breakfast.

We had Croissant Jambon Fromage (Ham, Cheese and Béchamel in a Croissant):

Fromages (Imported Cheese Plate):

and Fraises (Strawberries with cream in a pastry shell):

The ham and cheese croissant was delicious. It is something I look forward to having on every trip. The cheese plate was very good and the prtion was very filling. My only thought is that it would be nice to have some accompanying the cheese like crackers, although we did also have a fresh warm baguette (not pictured) which was nice. DH and DD liked the strawberry pastry, I did not try it.

Overall, one of my favorite places for a quick snack or small meal. We will definitely go here again!

Mmm - everything from France looks delicious. As it should!

I was really looking forward to trying Le Cellier. I know that opinions have changed since it went to 2 credits and the all day menu but I was excited to try it for myself.

Bread service:

The bread was very good, soft and warm and the butter was room temp with salt and a little something else (I don't remember) sprinkled on it.

We started off with poutine that DH wanted to try. Le Cellier Poutine - Hand Cut Fries, Canadian Cheddar, black truffle and red wine reduction:

This was just ok for me. The red wine reduction was tasty I just didn't love it on the fries. To be fair, here in Philly we cover our fries in cheez whiz which is how I am used to "cheese fries"

I wasn't very hungry so I decided to have 2 appetizers. For my appetizer selection I had beet salad. "Chef's Garden" Baby Beets - Roasted Beets, Goat Cheese, Tangerine, Pistachio, Raspberry Vinaigetee:

For my entree, I had the scallops appetizer delivered with the entrees. The description on allears is different than what I had. Mine were coated with blue corn flour or something like that. I did not care for this in the least, the corn coating gave it a really starge taste, imo. It might have just been me though because DH finished them off.

The kids had grilled chicken and mac and cheese for their entrees. The chicken was good and came with rice and beans. The mac and cheese tasted like it was left over, the pasta was very gummy and clumped together.

DH had the filet. Mushroom Filet Mignon AAA Canadian Beef Tenderloin, Wild Mushroom Risotto, Pickled Pearl Onions, White Truffle-Butter Sauce. I tasted a bit of this and thought it was very good. I would definitely get this if my appetite was better.

To be continued.....

Now for dessert, the kids had the chocolate mousse (moose) of course! It is so cute!

DH had the maple creme brulee:

and I had the blueberry sorbet:

The creme brulee was delicious! Creamy, maple-y (is that a word?!) and not too heavy or rich. The sorbet was also delicious! the kids ended up eating a lot of the sorbet it was that good!

I love that sorbet is an option at dessert. I have found that it is really good at Disney, and a welcome bit of lightness after a heavy meal.

I also had tea which was so good! Darjeeling Oolong an epicurean blend of Indian champagne Darjeeling, and a floral China Oolong, that yields a complex body and lingering orchid aroma. Grapey with a mellow, dry finish (Moderate Caffeine)

Overall:

I was excited to try this meal, but being full from breakfast at the French bakery ;) and making a bad choice with the scallops left me a little disappointed. I am definitely willing to give it another try, though.

As a bonus, here is the receipt, yeah for TiW! And the kids menu:

We have always enjoyed Le Cellier and always get the filet which has always been fantastic. That's a bummer about your scallops but I can understand not wanting a big portion. I too love the sorbet options as I am normally so full I don't want a huge dessert.

I have always liked the sandwiches at Starring Rolls. I always recommend it when people ask for a good CS in HS, but I may have to rethink that one after this trip. The turkey focaccia was my favorite but this time, the turkey was different than I remember and not in a good way. Someone also recently posted a review where they did not like their turkey sandwich at Sci-Fi. I wonder if the supplier is different or if there is a different brand being used .

Anywho, here is my sandwich:

I also got the Red Velvet Cupcake which just about made up for it. This is a good cupcake, but so big and rich that all 4 of us were able to share it:

Sadly I'm not sure if I would try the sandwiches here again :(. The pastries looked yummy as always though.

Great report so far...I am now going to have to try the Croissant Jambon Fromage...looks so yummy and we have never stopped there! It is going to be a must do on our March trip!!!

DH and I were planning a date night on this night. The girls were going to the Sandcastle Club, and we planned on just walking around WS and doing all the things we usually skip with the kids.

That all changed when it was announced that Neil Patrick Harris was the narrator for the CP from Dec. 1 - Dec. 3. So I'm going to put a disclaimer here - I love NPH! I remember watching him as Doogie Howser MD and I also enjoy How I Met Your Mother. I didn't think I would be able to get an ADR at all, let alone one that would fit our schedule of HS and then dropping the girls of and then getting to Epcot, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to get a 4:45 for Biergarten.

I have been to the CP before with the dining package and were always able to get in line 20 or so minutes before the show and get decent seats. Imagine my surprise when we walked through the IG and saw this:

That's right folks, that is the line for people with the dining package - all the way in France! :scared1: The SB line looked like it went at least all the way to the Outpost.

While the show was going on, the people watching from the walkway at the America pavilion was at least 5 deep.

We went to eat and got right in line after our meal, at 6:25, for the 8:15 show and we were back across from the store in Japan.
We got great seats:

And here is a program:

There was a lot of talk on the TPAS board about the fact that a song and a reading were removed from the CP this year. I will not weigh in on that but I will say that the CP was the highlight of our trip, simply fantastic.

Here is a video:

(Yes, that is a dog bark at 2:04, lol!)

Up next, oh yes, we ate that night........ ;)

Biergarten is one of my favorite restaurants, and the band is always fun!

We checked in and had to wait a few minutes. There we some people playing the Perry game, so I saw how appear in this window a few times.

Our beeper went off and we turned it in to the hostess and then we waited and waited. Apparently they called our name and we didn't hear it, so another party of two stepped up in our place. :confused3 And they were seated under our name with our ticket. After about 10 minutes we mentioned that we already turned our beeper in, and they figured it out. The hostess sent the manager to talk to us, we didn't ask for him, nor did we complain about the mixup, it really wasn't that big a deal. The manager insisted on charging us the regular price for dinner, not the Candlelight Package price, which was very kind.

As usual, my first place was stuffed with the cold salad selections. OMG, sooo good!

And my second plate was a few tastes of roasted chicken and potatoes, roasted vegetables and a little more salad!

After the show we stopped at Le Glaces in France to try the new ice cream. We had mint chip and salted caramel. The flavors of both were very strong. The caramel flavor was so rich I couldn't have more than a few bites. the mint chip was fresh tasting with strong mint flavor and was very good.
