My First Cruise--Wonder April 6-9th

HI Jennifer48....

I am new to the 'cruise forum', but was wondering around looking for information about the 3 day cruise......and look what I find, a neighbor :wave2: who just experienced her first Disney cruise......perfect. Love all of your information. I am thinking of booking one for Nov. 06 for myself, DD6 and DD3. We always head to WDW in November anyway, but this time I thought I might add on the cruise to 'change things up a bit' for all of us. My concern is what category to book. I was thinking about a room with a porthole (cat 8 or cat 9), but my biggest concern is what deck I am on. I don't want to be on a low deck with two sick kids and myself, to boot. You had an inside room? Not too bad?

AGain thanks for all the information and pictures. Glad you had a WICKED good time. :teeth:

Thanks for reading my trip report Pamela and welcome to the DIS! We had an awesome time and I would absolutely recommend it for anyone.

About your deck concerns, the lower you are to the bottom of the ship, the less movement you'll feel. If you are worried about the rocking, I'd say go low. We were in a category 11 and up on deck 7 which I was surprised at. With the inside stateroom, we could still feel some rocking but not a lot. It helped put me to sleep some nights! The only thing I didn't like about the inside stateroom was not having a window so you had no concept of time.

Hope this help some and if you have any more questions, feel free to holla! :goodvibes

BTW - that birthday basket was too cute! Do you know if it's available through Disney or was it a custom order?

I do! (Since I was the one who sent it! ;) ) It was from the WDW Florist (disneyflorist.com I think). It was the same treats that are in the Happy Surprise Cake, but put into one of the Mickey Mouse Shaped baskets instead of shaped like a cake (because I knew Jennifer48 would bring it home and make good use of it!) They had a little trouble understanding what I meant, but they got it just right!

Great Trip Report! I might lift a couple of your pictures! My camera picked our vacation to malfunction, so every picture I zoomed in on is fuzzy! I didn't even thing to take a pic of the Pirate Museum, my dd7 didn't like Nassau much. I really got a kick out of the pirate at the museum though, told dd he would use her hair to make a rope!
Like she wasn't freeking out already! :rotfl2:

Our table mate had a birthday too and that cake (tasted more like jello) was awesome. Great pic.

Oh, I think you had the same server we had Kaitt from Thailand. Our asst server was kim from Holland.

Just wanted to add. When we were on the Wonder on 3/2 cruise, Kaitt said that his wife was around 5 months pregnant. He said that his 6 months was coming up and he would be off 2 months. I kidded with my tablemates that we could figure out what he did on his last 2 months off. I really liked him and Kim. Even though he taught my dd some napkin tricks!

It's been a rough couple of weeks...I could do with a 7-night Eastern right about now...couldn't you??

Oh I could! In fact, just today, Dan and I were pricing 7-night Westerns! :rotfl2: :sunny:

Has anyone found the tree that money grows on yet? I need some!

Thanks for reading my trip report!

You can use some of my pictures. I just wish you would have asked first instead of telling me that you are lifting them.

That server definately sounds the same but ours was named Chat. Does he have two names?!?

Jennifer, do you have another picture of the basket your friend sent you for your birthday?

She was very kind and replied to my post about where and how she ordered it but I was hoping you might have another shot of it that I could take a look at...we will be celebrating more than one birthday at WDW this October and it looks like such a cute gift idea.

Thanks for your help!

Brenda,

I have a picture of the front of the basket that you saw, and here is one of the back...

The only things that you don't see are the sweettarts and jelly beans from Goofy's Candy Company. There are the chocolate coins in the front along with Gihradelli chocolate bars, Mickey's sugar free chocolate bars, and some caramel bars. Then the bag of sweettarts and a bag of jelly beans, and in the back are Mickey Mouse shaped pretzels in those Chip and Dale Snack company bags.

Hope that helps some! It was all so yummy! :goodvibes

Opps. Was just giving you a compliment! Anyways it wouldn't be the same as taking the pictures myself. So rest assured that I won't be lifting them.

Pehaps, they were different servers. I made an effort to check the servers name tags so I could spell their names correctly on the tip envelopes. Now as for the head server, I never could figure out which of the 3 guys standing at the door was him. :confused3
My tablemate and I gave Kaitt the envelopes for him. Our server pronounced his name like cat.

Sorry I misunderstood you Downrivermama. Thank you for the compliment! :goodvibes

After I read what you said about your server Kaitt, it all sounds very similar to our server Chat. I spoke to Dan and that is definately what it said on his name tag because we both thought it was a strange first name. I have a feeling its the same person but why he used two different names remains a mystery! :confused3

One thing I forgot to add. We took many walks around the ship and we did not see one, single door sign. We didn't make any either but there were none! I know that ScottishWee family made one but we didn't make it down to her deck but she was saying she didn't see any either. Must be a Wonder thing, like how no one dresses up for Pirate Night, no one makes door signs either! Guess I'll just have to book a Magic cruise so I can experience both! :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Dan, start planning! :cloud9:

Thank you!! I think I may have to borrow your friend's idea this fall. :goodvibes

Hello neighbor :wave2:
Thanx so much for the GREAT trip report. My DS7 and I will be sailing the Wonder 5/25-28 now I know what to look for. The pics were awesome. I will be having some of the same dinners as you as they looked so yummy.

This will be my first cruise also so I was nervous as to what to expect. I booked AS... garden but maybe I will just see the sites as U did. My DS will probably want to stay in the OL anyway.

I am also a redhead so I was not looking forward to CC but if I put enough sunscreen on and a hat maybe it wont be to bad. I burn and peel, no tan.

Thanx again I hope my trip report is half as good as yours.

Thanks for a great trip report, all the photos are fab!!!! My DD 4 loves looking at them !! :cool1:

We are going on the Wonder for a 4 nighter in Oct. We are dressing up on pirate night and we have already started our door sign. ! We figure lets go for it !

Thanks again for taking the time to detail all the information :)

Who were your servers? Did you like them? thanks!

Guess you didn't read my trip report! :rotfl:

My servers were Chat from Thailand and assistant server Kim from Holland. The were both wonderful and had no trouble accommodating us. :goodvibes

I know its tacky but I wanted to bump my TR up to the 1st page! :Pinkbounc

Plus I just read it again to relive it! Teehee! :lmao:

Thanks for taking the time to write an awsome report on your Cruise, it was a great read. I love to hear from people who love WDW as much as I do:) Right now I'm trying to figure out whether to stay with WDW, add a Cruise or go to Disney Land next year and your report nearly has me sold. The 3 day sounds perfect for a couple but since "us" the 'couple' became "us" the 'family' 8 years ago we've had to modify our Mouse trips. I'm off to search for helpful family reports, wish me luck.
