My first attempts at Selective Coloring... and now others' pics too!

Then I tried a few of the photos I already had.

It was fun! Now I think I'll see what other tutorials I can try.

Took me a while, but I finally figured out the selective coloring thing. I was looking for a tab or option that said "selective color". But I didi a bit more research and here is what I came up with:

Ok that came out a WHOLE lot bigger than I thought it would. I had to save and delete it 4 different times to get it to appear the same size as my other photobucket pictures. On the photobucket site it comes up half that size. Hmmmm,,, guess I need to play a little more......

Hi Beth! :wave2: Your pictures look great!

All of the new pictures are fantastic, I'm glad everyone is still finding this thread! :goodvibes

All the photos are great. It is so much fun.

Here's one from our wedding at Seabreeze Pointe in December 2004. Cindy's carriage was a bit too expensive but a Boardwalk 6 passenger surrey bike was just right!

:rockband: "It won't be a stylish marriage; I can't afford a carriage; but you'd look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for . . . 6!"

Sorry, couldn't resist. Great picture!

what a cool thread! i love the picture of the dapper dans on the first page. all y'all have inspired me to play around with photoshop myself, but not now as its past my bedtime :cloud9: i'll come back, thanks for all the great tips!

OK, I tried this for the first time today and got hooked.

Thank you, although she is a crawling hurricane now. She is starting to learn to walk a bit. Don't know if I really want that to happen considering the damage she can do on her hands and knees!!!

I tried a few tonight. Just a quick selection and inverse then desaturate:

still struggling with these bronze statues and the midday shadows
but it does give a nice 1950's look:

there is a shadow tool in PS I must look into.

and some color for the selective color thread:

it seems I forgot one broomstick.

I have done some practice with layers in the past. Now I need to try the masking method.

Whoa! That's pretty cool. My hands hurt, however. Here's one I tried to do of my little sister:

All of the new photos look spectacular! Thanks for reviving the thread :thumbsup2 We just got back from a cruise, so hopefully once life settles down a bit I'll have a few more to play with. Until then, keep them coming! :goodvibes
