First question, who's got the blueprints for the Ark, and when does construction start? :lmao: Wow, it's been POURING for a long time.

My dilemma is this: We have tickets to tonight's Pawtucket Red Sox game. What do you think the chances are that the game will actually be played? We will have to drive about an hour or so, so I don't want to get halfway there to find out it's been cancelled.

I called the Stadium (like EVERYONE else holding tickets, I'm sure, to his credit, the young man on the phone was VERY patient) and as of now, the game is on.

So, what do you all think? Game On? or No? Gametime is 6:05pm

Geez I don't know. I'm in the next town over from the stadium and it's overcast but nice out. They're predicting we're supposed to get close to an inch of rain today and tonight but I'm not seeing it.
I'd head this way and if it's a wash out just treat yourself to dinner :)

Any suggestions on where to go for dinner if we get rained out? It wil be DH, myself, and 2 8 year old boys. DH works as a driver in RI, and he said the same as you, that it had stopped raining, but they keep talking about the flood warnings.

If you're in the mood for pizza, Twins pizza (1000 mineral spring ave - right near the north providence/pawtucket border) is probably the best in the state.
If you're looking for great Chinese the China Inn at 285 Main St is very good (love the soups and crab rangoon)

Mama Spumoni's on Newport Ave by the Kmart Plaza just on the South Attleboro/Pawtucket line is very good and reasonably priced. There's always Walt's roast beef on Newport Ave and the places on Rte 1 in North Attleboro :) The boys would love Spike's hot dogs but the closest to Pawtucket is Thayer St in Providence

Unfortunately I can't answer that, but it is suppose to rain all weekend.

This is the pits! :( And it's supposed to keep raining for the next few days! We got the pool uncovered yesterday and I doubt we will be using that for a while! But there are several HUGE frogs swimming around it in - eeeeewwwww - so at least someone is enjoying it! :)

DH was off in CO for a couple of days and got stuck at JFK last night. They couldn't get any flights into Logan because of the fog so three folks from work rented a car a drove home. He was supposed to get home around 7:30 but got home after 12:30 instead..poor baby! :(

Good luck with the game! Wear warm clothes as it will probably be raw out if they do play.

Where the heck is spring anyhow?????

Hey you  Love your flamming head :teeth:

Sorry about the weather you guys are having. Rainy weather makes me want to jump off a building, especially when it lasts that long  Here's to hoping some sunshine makes it to New England real soon :sunny:

Thanks, I was told I could take it from a fellow diser...sorry, but I forgot who it was that gave it to me.

Yeah, this whole week was like this. Yesterday was kind of cool though. It was foggy all day and my office is on the 19th floor in a building in Boston, so it looked cool...at least it did to me. Every now and then I would look out of a window facing the harbor and see a faint outline of a ship pulling into port. :thumbsup2

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha

Ugh--It's still POURING down rain. There is a SOLID mass on weather.com from North of Portland, ME almost down to Long Island. And yet, on the front page of the PawSox home page, it says; THE GAME IS ON. Urgh.

I'm sitting in my house in Maine, in the Kennebunk/Kennebunkport area, and it's done nothing but rain for the last week, and next week doesn't look much better! :sad2:

We're having landscaping done around the house and it's turned into a mess of mud. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

You are forgiven... don't let it happen again :teeth: :thumbsup2

You probably know by now that it's been postponed! Hope you found out before you left home, and if not, hope you're enjoying your meal out!

We left a week of lovely weather in Orlando to come home to this. And last night, both DDs went to proms in pouring rain. Stinks, but if I don't have anywhere to go, I actually LIKE rainy do-nothing days like this. Never this many in a row tho, since I've usually got somewhere I have to go.

Well, it's rained so much that our basement has a stream running through it for the first time since we've been here :confused3 And it's not over yet?

I was in Walmart in Middleton Ma today and there was so much water on the floor it is a law suit waiting to happen. Even Khols in Danvers had buckets all over the place. All I could think of was Liberty Tree mall had the roof collapse during the blizzard of 78 and I wondered how well it would stand up under all this rain....I wonder how much accumulation it would be if it were snow?

The water's already starting to seep into our basement too despite the sump pump running almost non stop. We've got literal rivers running through the back yard where stepdad had made trenches outlining the edges of the barkmulch  and the front yard where there was no grass from having trees cut this winter is one big mud pit. The lake in town is dangerously high, and the brooks and even the ditches on the side of the roads are raging rivers. I'm not looking forward to seeing what everything looks like a week from now.
Bella the Ball, I think some newscaster said it would be close to 60 inches of snow if this were that. Believe me, I'd rather have the snow

Well, it's still raining... they are saying another 5 inches today, on top of everything we have had already.... so, I'm just glad we have a little stream & not a big old river in the basement :teeth:

Snow works out to be one foot of snow for every inch of rain... so we'd have between 5 & 8 feet of snow right now if this was snow... It's only 45 out there, thank god it's not any colder!
