Last night at 12:00 AM we made our Fastpass+ reservation for our upcoming vacation in August. My mom and I were nervous considering the mixed reviews in regards to the issues with the My Disney Experience App, availability problems, etc. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the Fastpass+ reservations (for us at least) went really well. We were able to get all of the Fastpasses we were hoping to get, all at great times. The only one we had to choose for later in the day was A&E. Although I will always miss going up to the Fastpass kiosk and a little ticket coming out, I have to say my mom and I were both pleasantly surprised with the new system. There are obviously some bugs to work out, but I think Disney is on the right track! (Or maybe I'm just in a good mood because our vacation is now 60 days away:love:)

Glad it worked out! I had a horrible time with the FP+ for our summer trip, thanks to a glitch in the system.

Indeed booking your FP+s 60 days out isn't problematic, unless you don't like booking things 60 days out. I haven't seen many reports of people saying they couldn't get what they wanted at 60 days. Its all the rest that can go wrong :)

Glad it went well though ! :)

I have indeed seen all 3 types of problem/complaint:
1) guests don't even like to BE picking rides at 60 days
2) guests experience a glitch
3) guests who stayed up late and still didn't get what they wanted

Luckily I shared the OPs experience, got good results, and felt like my trip was that much closer! Glad yours went well, OP

Other than meeting A&E is there a certain order of attractions that you added first? Our trip in October will be our first with FP+ and I was just wondering what other attractions go quick enough that you should try for those first?

I get to make our FP+ reservations tonight..... 5 hours and counting!

Did mine last night at midnight and got everything I wanted. I was worried about 7dmt because I wanted them around noon so I just selected that as my only fp, the system selected the other two, I got the times I wanted for mine train, then went in and changed the other fps to ones I wanted.

Glad it went so well, OP. I remember how nervous I was before making my first FPs. I was happy that it turned out to be easier than I thought it would be. Of course, I studied up on the tips provided here, which couldn't have hurt!

When we did ours, 7DMT was the 2nd on our list behind A&E.

Midnight Friday is my turn! Fingers are crossed. Glad it went well for you, it did for me last year as well.

I just returned, I used a free touring plan to choose the experiences that I wanted, I used a little bit of a different choice in times, but I can say FP+ allowed us to see every attraction with minimal to zero wait time, we never stood in any lines at any park (while others were waiting and waiting and waiting in lines)...I literally was like "okay now what do we do" at the end of most days before 7pm because we had done everything planned for that day and had more FP+ waiting for us the next day...I also modified and got better ride times around a week before our trip after staying up until 12am the night of our available FP+ booking time....(grumble)....but this trip is our 4th trip we use the old FP tickets, and this and I can say this new system was amazing, the APP worked amazing and the kiosk's were great...very pleased with everything...

I guess one thing I can say is that if you don't get what you are looking for right away, wait and check again closer to your visit and also while you are at your resort, (same with dinner reservations) I ended up getting all the dinner reservations I wanted WHILE I was checking into my room and got better times too!)

Nice to see a positive experience! The only one I am stressing over is TSMM, because we have only 1 day at HS and it's a late arrival day. The rest of it will happen and if not we will wait!

We went two years ago during the test period and it worked well enough for us. We're going again in October. Hopefully we'll have good results again.

All done with my FP+ reservations! It took me less than 10 minutes and I got the ones we wanted for the times we wanted. I selected my MK day first so I could try for SDMT first. I quickly selected my 3 attractions, went with the "Best Option", and then went back in to modify the times. Then I did the rest of our days the same way. I only had 4 park days to do.

Next thing to do --- online check-in!
