When does the resort mail usually come? I'm going to be doing cartwheels when we get ours! It seems like the end of May is SOOOO far away!!!

I have a countdown on my regular calendar that tells me how many days on each day's square, and I have a countdown chain for my 2 1/2 year old for a visual on exactly how many days until we go to Disney World. She's always saying she wants to go now. I think she thinks it's just down the road and we won't take her there I never tell her to take one off, I usually wait until she whines about wanting to go to Disney World, then I tell her we have that many days and she can take off a day. But every once in a while she doesn't ask about it, and I'll forget to remind her, then I refer to my normal calender and have to count the chains to see how many we have to take off

How long did it take to get the rewards card once you ordered it? I'm debating on whether to order it or just pick it up at DTD once we are in FL.

I love ME luggage tags. I love that they have the resort name, and that they have Mickey heads on them. I also love that they bring bags to the resort all by themselves !

From what I remember in the past, resort mail arrives around 30 days out. This means I should be getting mine NOW!! Don't they know I'm doing my 30 day dance and I need my Mickey mail fix???

In the past, we've also done the same thing with our countdown--we go for 2 or 3 days at a time without changing it. I think because the kids were too young to care and I just got busy! But this year is a whole different story. The kids are really into changing it each morning before we leave the house for school/work/daycare. It's the last thing we do right before we walk out of the house. Makes the mornings a little more bearable!

It arrived in about 7 days (not counting a Sunday). I didn't know that you can pick up a rewards card at DTD. I just ordered the card now with the minimum # of points and then the week before our trip, I'll call and add the rest. Or the CM told me that they could do that at the guest relations desk at each of the parks.

Speaking of countdown drama--I went to a bridal shower yesterday. My mom came over to watch the kids. My DD decided to flip to the next day in our countdown calendar while I was gone. Well, she had to flip from 30 to 29. So she flipped the 3 to a 2, but didn't know she had to flip back all the right hand numbers to get back to 9. So I when I got home and saw 20 on the countdown calendar, I almost had a mini stroke thinking that our trip really was in 20 days...

...Man that was a good 30 seconds... *sigh*

Less time on the DIS? Less time to plan?? Such a , right? But unfortunately I know what you mean! In the past 6 weeks we've had 2 unexpected visits from out of town family and lots of stuff planned on the weekends, so it's really put a damper on my Disney Movie nights! But this weekend coming up is looking pretty empty so far...I think I'll finally get to squeeze in another one!

I have just found and read your whole journal! Good thing that the coffee pot makes 12 cups in a clip! I love your ideas! I am going to be copying most of them- like that family movie night! I want to do that! I am going to look into that but alas we aren't even at the 180 day mark yet! But please let us know how some of your restaurants are (Yak and Yetti, CP) we are planning some of them too! This will be our first trip, so we are going to be really trying to enjoy being there, but I'm an obsessive planner, heck I would rather read trip reports than ! My DH thinks I'm nuts and doesn't want to hear anything Disney until we can make the reservations! So.... I will keep an eye on these and keep reading until then!

I had to wait until the kids went to bed too! I just wanted to be able to sit and work on it for a few hours without being interrupted. Worked out well. It only took me 2 nights (after they went to bed) to get it done.

Hi! Welcome to my PTR--it's nice to "meet" you! I see that you have a little over 2 months to make your ADR's, so lucky you, you have plenty of time to research! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will have started my TR (including dining reviews!) by the time you are making your reservations...we'll see how that pans out.

My DH has gotten a little peeved with me lately since I am in Disney overload. We are so close, I just can't help it! I know he's excited to go, he is just the type of person that doesn't enjoy the weeks leading up to vacation. The anticipation of going on vacation sometimes puts him in a bad mood--weird, right? But I do have to keep reminding myself of that so I don't go too Disney overboard on him...

I hope you guys have fun with the Disney movie nights...we really enjoy them when we can get them in. We've been so busy recently we haven't done one in over a month--yikes! And just so you know, we've eaten at CP before (for breakfast) and LOVE it. Yak and Yeti will be a new one for us this year and I'm looking forward to trying it--I've read lots of good reviews. Enjoy plannig for your first trip--it is SO MUCH FUN!

(I set up each day the same, so no need to post all 7 days!) But, let me draw your attention to a particular note that I've made for May 7th --

DDP Snack list (several pages; again no need to post all of them!)--

Transportation info (I cut up a brochure that they gave me when we checked in on our first trip in 2008. See, sometimes hanging on to things is a GOOD thing! I don't even know that we'd really need this page, just thought since I found the brochure and wasn't using it for anything else that I should add it!)--

And that's it. The rest of my journal is blank. While we're on the trip I plan on using the rest of it to write in (gotta take good notes for a TR!!), keep receipts/maps, and anything else I may think of that I need it for.

Am I missing anything important?? Just because I feel like it's done that surely means I've forgotten something

Do you know that 87% of the reason I finally talk myself into getting up in the morning is to change the countdown? Sure, there are plenty of other reasons to get up, but that's the best one!

very cute journal! I'm working on mine tonight... had some bad storms though, so I had to take a 45 minute "break". My neighbors trampoline flew over our fence and is now stuck in our yard!

Wow, the journal was very impressive! I might be inspired to try putting together a planner too. I'm sure it won't be as extensive (or as pretty) as yours but I should at least have something to keep us organized! I was originally planning to just have the ADR information and touring plans on my phone, but print outs would be good in case I can't access the phone for some reason.
