My experience with POP

Hi everyone. I normally lurk around the boards but I felt the need to share my Pop experience. We had absolutely no problem with the room temperature. If anything, we found it a bit cool in the morning, and we are usually the type who find it warm! Our entire experience was wonderful and we are planning another trip to Pop, for a longer time this trip. Hopefully, the problem checking in was an isolated incident (we had wonderful CMs) and the temperature situation seems to be different depending on who is commenting. Maybe some problems have been addressed.:)

Well, here's another positive post about POP. ;)

We had no problem with our room temperature during our stay. In fact, we felt entire stay there was quite enjoyable and fun! :)

We stayed there in May and won't be staying there again... I have a lot of positive things to say about it, but when your sleep is messed with, you don't have a desire to go back LOL. It really ISNT that much more to do moderate. And def worth every dime...

The resort is beautiful, food area is nice, CMs were all nice to us, we checked in quickly on a Sat afternoon at 5pm, pools were nice, rooms were actually bigger than we imagined... it was just the noise. We couldn't take it, and we couldn't sleep. There is NO INSULATION whatsoever in it. When you are up until 2am because there are others up around you, and then get awoken at 630 by the kids next door, you turn out to not be real cheerful =) Not to mention hearing EVERYONE's toilet flush, and the round of showers in the early morning hours from all the rooms around and above.

I do remember needed to get up one night and fling my arms around so the AC would kick back on... It never got TOO hot, but we sleep with it really really cold, and got a bit warm. Nothing to write home about, for us.

Good luck in your decisions, all that are considering where to stay!

By Cris:soon you will have to start staying offsite because all the resorts will have the sensors.

Uh, HOW do you know this info? Do you/are you working for Disney? I know for a FACT BWV does not have this system yet.
How can you make a statement of fact like that without proof?

True, it MAY happen, as all resorts MAY instill that type of technology to save the almighty "disney dollar" sign. But please use the word "may" in your statements unless you have factual information..
Thanks!

Ok, guys a question:
We are staying at POP in 4 days for 2 nights, and just wondering how is the A/C at night? I am one of those guys that like it cool at night, and hearing conflicting reports...
One person says it clicks on at 73 deg, another says it goes up to 80,90 deg. (I find that hard to believe), and if it did, I would get another room the next day, but that is me...
Just the facts.. What is the truth on the a/c, and HOW can you fix the problem... I have heard using ballons, one poster said the DH "jury rigged" the A/C...
Any help on this please...
THANKS!
(p.s. Can you tell I am a science teacher?) with facts, NOT hearsay..

We stayed at POP in late May in the 70's building away from the pool. We couldn't hear any outside noise, except when someone was right in front of our door/windows apparently screaming hello to someone on the lower level. Maybe we had really good neighbors, but we could not hear their conversations through the walls. We did hear the toilets of other rooms flushing. Seemed like everyone had to go at the same time! LOL. We didn't let that ruin our stay. In fact, we learned to laugh about it by the 2nd day. My 2 kids and I are heavy sleepers. DW did not go on this trip. I think if she were there, she'd be a bit more upset than I was.

As far as the air conditioning goes, the room never reached that "Artic Freeze" that I so fondly remember from my earlier visits to Disney, but I understand that's the direction they're moving in to save energy. We never woke up sweaty or anything. It was comfortable.

The kids and I liked the atmosphere of this resort very much. DD(9), our family "ham" , had fun doing the Twist with the CMs. I have great video of that moment.

I guess my advice to everyone would be, that if you are a light sleeper, you will want to bring a white noise machine or earplugs. If this is really an issue for you, you may want to switch resorts.
