Thought some people might be interested to know what happened to me. First of all, I called today to make sure tomorrow was my day to call, and OOPS I had miscalculated, it was actually today!!
So there went my 7 am calling plan, it was already 9:30 when I called.
The woman I got was very helpful, after getting my reservation number to double check I could make them today she asked me what was the most important one so I said Chef Mickey's, she then proceeded to tell me NOTHING WAS AVAILABLE!!! Not one stinkin' table the whole morning. Ugh! So as I was picking my jaw up off the floor she said WAIT I see something, okay, we can get you in at 10:15. I just could not believe that exactly 180 days in advance there was not ONE table available, craziness I tell you! Then she said to go in order of importance because at this point people arriving earlier than me have already been snagging these reservations for days now so it's an uphill battle. She managed to get me everything I wanted within a half hour, which apparently took quite some effort, we were on the phone for 45 minutes or so! She knew a lot about the special things that could be done too, she suggested the candlelight processional and told me what day to call back for that. I was really happy with how helpful she was!
At the end of the call she told me the dining plan has exploded the past couple of years and now they are thinking of going to 9 months in advance for reservations, WOW!!!
She said she even tells people to book meals for vacations they aren't even 100% sure of yet because they can always cancel later, but that just made me think it's part of the reason why it took her 10 minutes to find a single chef mickey's for christmas time, what the heck????
