I thought I would post my engagment story since I had some spare time!
Ryan and I meet in Dec of 2003 just after I had started College. In May of 2005 we decided to take a Disney trip together. I had actually been planning a disney trip for him since the moment I found out he had never been there!
We were staying for 6 days at the Boardwalk Inn (great deal becuase a friend that went with us worked for ESPN) We went with Muneesh (ESPN guy) and Noah (Our now best man). I deemd the trip "Princess Nikki and the three stooges DO WDW"
Noah
Muneesh
We had a total blast visiting all of the parks for free (Gotta love muneesh and that ESPN business!) We were really able to save a lot more money than what I had planned on spending (figured budget without free tickets and half off hotel room).
I had planned out every part of almost every day. It so worked out that on the last night of our stay I had planned a dinner at Citricose at the GF. However it was raining and we didn't want to bother with transportation and the rain so we switched to the Typakani grill in Japan at 8:45. I had only made reservations for 2 because I wanted Ryan and I to have some time together. It now occurs to me that he never contested just US going.....
We had a marvalous dinner with 2 other families. Both families had just one child. They were great to talk to. One of the mom's and I hit it off and shared our Disney knowledge. She told me about how she paid for her whole trip with her Disney Visa. She pays her morgtage with it and then pays her card off right away with a check. (I decided to start doing that with my College Tuition!)
When we got done with dinner it was about 9:40 so everyone had cleared out after Illuminations and it was just Ryan and I standing in front of the Tori gate
We were watchin the epcot ball and the different flowers they were projecting on it. I commented how I had never seen that before. He was suprised that he could share a disney first with me! We continuted talking about our relationship and how we loved each other and knew that one day we would be at Disney with our kids. The next thing I knew he was down on one knee asking me to marry him!!!
NOW WAIT ONE SECOND!! I had my itenerary and this WASN"T on it!!! (I"m not good with straying from the planned Itineary)
I of course Said Yes right away! We just sat there and hugged each other for a long time. Then I jokingly told him I was upset because it wasn't in the itineary. His comment was "Babe you can't plan everything"
So we had tons of fun the rest of the night back at the Boardwalk. Both Noah and Muneesh were waiting for us to return. (THEY knew what was going on) The rest of the night Muneesh shouted to EVERYONE that we had just gotten engaged. Spoodles gave us the last of their pizza for the price of one slice (it was closing time when we passed by).
The next day it was time to leave
Sad boys
We did a "nice little bike ride" around the Epcot hotels....Yeah we were out of shape and a huffing and a puffing when we got to the finish line
I totally love my engagment story and wouldn't trade it for 'nutting!
