My Ds has woke up this morning with Chicken Pox

Poor little soul he has woke up this morning covered in chicken pox, to make it worse he is 6 next week and having a few friends over for a litlle birthday tea (we will postpone it), also he has 2 school outings this week that he was looking forward to , we will not have to mention it to him or he will be really upset

Poor boy! Hope he gets over it quickly... My DS developed it on the first morning of a trip to New York and WDW - he was so unhappy we got a stand-by flight back to Paris asap...

I know it sounds like i am a awful parent, she never seems to catch it.

Believe me, you don't!!! My Mum had it as adult in her late 30's and was never fully well again...

Aww hope he's better soon.You probably already know but please,please please don't let him get to hot-which happens with getting Chicken Pox-i am speaking from past experience(last year)when DD6 had Chicken Pox she got up on the third day of having it-complaing she was hot/headache-she ended up having a fit in front of me+was taken to hospital-thankfully the outcome was good.I don't mean to frighten you(and i apologise if i have)-but i like to let others know what we went thru-so hopefully no-one else would have to.Docs at the hospital said that Chicken Pox really shows itself+the temperatures start at about day 3.x.

Thanks , I did think that he was never going to get them as a lot of the time he has been around children with cp but has never caught it, but I supose its best he has it now and its over with, he has them mainly on his back, stomache and neck and quite a few in his hair I just hope he doesnt get any on his face.

Thanks Michelle , I will make sure I watch out for that . You must have been so scared I know I would be, glad she was ok though and thanks again for the advice

DD got it during the flight back home from Florida - landed in Gatwick, and she was covered in spots! Quite good timing I suppose. I had to cancel my 8th birthday party because of it , not that I'm bitter!

Ds came down with it on monday, though i was expecting it as it's going round preschool, luckily no more spots have appeared yesterday or today and i hope he can get back to preschool before the end of the week as he has just missed so much lately ( with also just having missed 2.5 weeks due to the mumps, even tho he had his MMR but that's another story) i cannont reccommend Piriton enough as he had a couple of awful nights before a friend reccommended it to me. Hopefully he's on the mend now, but at least a couple of his friends also have it at the moment so we have all been meeting up so the kids don't get so bored!
