My Double Dipped in Butter Thanksgiving Cruise - PTR

OT I know....If we planned a girls trip and my sister that lives in FL did the booking...would we all get the discount?

That is a good question. I know with tickets it doesn't work that way, but with a hotel I think it does. I think you should research it.

:thumbsup2 Thanks. My sisters and I keep talking about a cruise. So we will see. :)

I know I haven't updated in a while. I'd like to blame it on the computer, as I do all things, but it was just me being lazy.

But this part of the story is about computer problems. I worked out a Palo's schedule with my friend, Mrs. Dr. Daytripper. We would both try to get a good Palo's time then text the other. I had to make sure I got Flounder's at the same time. At midnight, we both log in. I had pumped myself up with Starbucks (iced non-fat black & white peppermint mocha) to handle the late night. Wellllllll, apparently when you have linked reservations only one of you can book stuff at a time. I didn't know this at the time. I kept trying to log in, but it said I still hadn't paid off my cruise. Though it showed a balance of zero. I tried to pay it off, but couldn't of course since there was no balance. :headache: I logged off, logged back in, over and over again. It was 12:20 and I knew that I wouldn't be able to get Flounder's ahead of time if I didn't get in.

I went to the almighty Dis and found others in the Traveling Turkeys group had the same problem and learned I had to wait until my friend was done. Luckily, she got a dinner time for Friday and I was able to get Flounder's to match later. I also booked a couple's massage and extra Flounder's time. You can book up to 10 hours of nursery time ahead, so I wanted to make sure I did. I can always change or cancel once we're on board. I signed my oldest up for the kid's club, but you don't have to book time for that.

The computer did cause some problems. Brunch was already booked. So now we have to go first thing and try to book one. I loved both the dinner and brunch on our last cruise and don't want to miss either. One thing you will all learn, I am all about the food.

Next installment: DISNEY DINING DREAMS!

Woohoo! I'm first to post after an update.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who has a tempermental relationship with computers.

I'm glad you got everything worked out!! I hope all of the other plans fall into place much easier. I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

There's a Disney Princess book we own that has little buttons you push to go along with the story. One of the buttons has Cinderella saying "Dreams Do Come True!" That keeps playing through my head, even when my DD2 isn't repeatedly pushing the button.

When I booked the cruise, the main dining time was already full. But I knew from my last cruise, that I could try to move it first thing when I got on the ship. It was a pain to leave the deck to do it, but sitting down to dinner at 8 p.m. would be even more of a pain. I did still hold out hope that I would get moved before the cruise. The CM on the phone said that we'd have priority because we had a young child.

Over the months, I'd check our reservations on line to see if we moved. When I booked our excursions, I noticed we were still listed for late seating. :sad2: In my mind, I kept trying to organize our on board plans so DD2 could eat at her regular time, but would be happy and quiet while we ate at our late time. Since she rarely sits happy and quiet for long periods at restaurants without her DVD player, my hopes weren't high.

I was out of town, at Disney of course, with our friends. Dr. Mrs. Daytripper mentioned she had got a call asking if they wanted to be moved up to main dining with us. Her reservations were linked to ours, but they hadn't asked for main dining. She said she told them yes. I said that I had never heard that we were moved up. I was excited, but still hesitant. I needed to see that proof for myself, but I didn't have my reservation info with me. Darn not bringing my laptop on vacation!!!!

When we got back, I jumped online and it was like a light shining down from above ----- "Main Dining". The worry about rushing on board to get our dining time changed, add extra Flounder's time and a Palo's brunch was just reduced by one. That means a little more deck time for me.

Well think of something girl and get on with it!!!

:lmao:

Seriously, I am enjoying this PTR. I've never cruised before so this is something brand new to me!

The DVC people have started calling our house, by the way. I haven't had the heart to pick up the phone yet, though....:sad2:

*sigh*

Is it my guide, Anne? It wouldn't hurt to pick up the phone and get a few questions answered. :rolleyes1

I'll try to think of something, but we're kind of at a standstill for planning until we get closer. Then it'll be all about what we need to pack.
