LOL have fun with it girl! pirate:

That's a great idea! I have a 4-day weekend this weekend and since I'm broke from doing the back-to-back trips, that's about all I can afford now :rotfl: It'll be fun too! Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

I'm glad to know I'm not the only 'weirdo' who went and put the tips in the envelopes already. I was just afraid I'd get down there and not have enough small bills. (Like that would ever really happen!)

No, you aren't a "weirdo." Besides, I can't call you a weirdo without pointing a finger at myself on that one, and I'm just not willing to do that:laughing:
I'm always afraid that I'll get down there and spend tip money . I have found that if I go ahead and pre-plan tipping, as much as I can, then I always am prepared. I have tip money set aside for valet parking at the airport, the luggage people, the car-rental shuttle dude who hauls my luggage for me.... you get the idea. I'm actually pre-planning the tipping for dining as well. I am figuring roughly $20 per meal (which I know is probably high,) but I'd rather over-estimate than end up short. I won't be tying my credit card to my room-key thingy... I made that mistake last year. Imagine my surprise when on the last day I realized I had charged over $1700 worth of stuff :scared1: Yep, that was me- I still can't tell you what all I bought... Like I said, I won't be doing that again this year. It'll be a cash allowance per day ;)

UPDATE: well, sorta-kinda....

I can't really post this anywhere else so I'm going to post it here.

Background: I grew up in a suburb of Atlanta called Marietta. It was one of those picturesque neighborhoods with a community lake, pool, and tennis courts. Having lived there for a majority of my childhood, I grew up with all of the other neighborhood kids, and there were a lot of us! However, there was a small group of us that created a lot of mischief as well.. and wouldn't you know- I was the only girl ;) One of the kids I grew up with lived just down the street from me. His name is Bumper. Yep, "Bumper." No, I have no idea how he got that name. Anyways, Bumper looked me up on facebook and we exchanged numbers and talked on the phone until 3:30AM last night. I discovered that he moved back into the old hood which isn't too terribly far from me now, so we decided we'd meet up tonight, just to "catch-up" and what not. :yay: So here I was, all excited about catching up with an old friend that I haven't seen in 15 years... we meet up at an Applebees- he approaches me and he reaks of alcohol  In my sacastic best, all I come up with "well someone managed to get a head start on me."
It was all down hill from there. The worse part is, he went on and on and on about how cute I am and how much he likes me. He thinks I'm the coolest girl he's ever known... blah blah blah ( the kind of stuff you wish the sober & employed guys would tell you ;) ) then he proceeds to try every which way to kiss me. Finally, I faked being unbelievably tired and offered to drive him home (as he could barely walk and it was only a couple of miles down the road.) So I drive the dude home, bring myself home... and listen to my new ringtone as the boy called 3 times in the past hour- and sent several text messages. :sad2: I don't know *what* to do. The last text message says "I really like you." I don't want to hurt the boy's feelings but really, come on... he should know better than to show up to a date (even if it's just a friendly one) not sober. Right???

It sounds like Bumper might have a drinking problem or maybe he was nervous about seeing you again & just had a few drinks too many. Whatever it is, he showed poor judgement & you probably should tell him you just want to be friends. Just my opinion, not that you asked for it & I'm sorry that it didn't turn out the way you planned.

Oh Rebecca... As Tink suggested, he sounds like he either has a drinking problem, or was nervous and showed very poor judgement in having several too many drinks before meeting up with you. Best to let him know that you'd rather just be friends, so he doesn't get the wrong idea. Good luck.

By the way, you're another day closer to going to Orlando :)

WOW! I have to say you do a lot of planning... much more than I do! Hope Jen2 and TInk can match that for October 2009 trip. I love the idea of the Mouseketeers! that would be fun for us too... though.. dont see some doing that.

The date... sorry. Hard to say why he was already drinking so much. I try not to assume. I would just be honest with him. Say thank you for the compliment about him liking you, because it is a compliment.

:sad1: Care forgot about me on the 13th

Love the meet idea for you for the Georgia area... am sure you would have fun!

I'm pretty sure Care didn't forget about you! Afterall, you're pretty unforgettable ;)

I like the idea of doing the mousekeeter as a group costume for all of us next year! That would be superific :goodvibes

No need at all to feel bad  I'd rather listen to your happy story than to sit and whine about my bad date. :)

Here's the update, I sent him a text thanking him for last night and simply stated "see ya 'round!" :rotfl: I feel terrible... especially since one of his calls in the middle of the night was him just making sure I had made it home okay (I like thoughtfulness and consideration- big brownie points in my book.) But there's just no way.... :sad2:

feel free to mention the idea on the trip thread for 2009!!

thanks about the compliment :) dfxs (<---miss kitty is lying on keyboard)

what time are you leaving on the 20th? Jen2 and I arrive sometime morning of 19th (she hasnt booked her ticket yet)

still working on ADRs and what we can fit in where as I plan some things.

I didn't mean to leave you off the list for the 13th, Sha. (Sorry!) As Rebecca rightly pointed out, you are pretty unforgettable. I've been so absent-minded lately with French class that I'd probably forget my head if it wasn't already attached to the rest of me.

Oh, that would certainly be a lot of fun! I intend to finally get my Mouseketeer ears this trip, as I didn't get them last time around. I'll be ready.

Now, it's time for me to get to bed. Good night, everyone!

I was just joking.. I know you didnt do it intentionally ;) and your email made good sense to me :rotfl: I have some special mouse ears, but not sure I would wear either pair of them. May need some new ones... especially the ones you can personalize that I have heard so much about lately.

Harley does that to me all the time... I love it when she curls up between myself and the keyboard...and then decides to get a little more comfy by curling up ON the keyboard :cat:

I am leaving very early on the 20th... I think the flight leaves out at like 8 something, which means we'll have to leave pop around 6:00 AM :sad1: Once we get back in Atlanta, I then have to shake hands and kiss some babies at the State Fair :lovestruc

I may or may not get a pair of Mickey ears... I usually buy the Mickey-ears Christmas ornament as a souvenir. It's cheaper and I don't have to dust it year round. I think I'll wait until we decide if that's what we're going to do... shouldn't we be having this conversation on *that* board??? :rotfl:

UPDATE: After battling cold feet about the Orlando pretrip-trip for several days (even canceling the trip as of last night,) I spoke with Handsome Stranger. He has this uncanny ability to make me feel okay about things... I don't trust easily AT ALL and usually have walls about 10 feet deep by 5 feet high, built all around me. I like the fact that he is able to penetrate the walls :upsidedow . Of course, that may, or may not, be such a good thing. One thing I've noticed with all of my friends who are close friends, they've all had that same effect on me- hopefully, that's a good sign. So the end result is that I'm still going to Orlando this weekend and am excited about it. I'm especially excited about going to Universal ::yes::

Darn.. that just gives us Friday with you! (and Care and her sister... and others)

Am glad you are still going! I think you are a little wrong about being so excited about U.S. (being you are a DISNEY fan!) :lmao:

Hmm. Perhaps you (or Rebecca or others on this thread) might know whether I can find a pair of mouse ears where the ears themselves are not plastic. I remember that I could only find the plastic ones last year, and I was hoping to find fabric ears attached to the hat. I want to add the Mickey Mouse Club logo, and have my name embroidered on the back in gold thread.

I'm glad you're planning to go ahead with this weekend's trip. Nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say. (Who are "they" by the way, other than strange voices in my little head?) I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that you'll have a wonderful time meeting the Handsome Stranger.

That's sweet that you'll be kissing cute babies at the State Fair after our trip next month.

We should plan to meet up again on the 19th once that "second wave" of folks arrives (Sha, Jen2, etc.) before we have to go home.

Well Sha, since you asked...

Since everyone else always posts pics of their kids, I figured I'd post mine too ;)

If I see any I will let you know! only other thing I could think of to do, is to make a sleeves to fit over the ears... then you can change it for different things :confused3

AC that night right??? Not sure what your day plans are, am suppose to be working on them (not feeling to good right now) but Jen2 is planning to be in before noon. We have somethings we are hoping to do via park hopping. Not sure how much we will get done or not for Friday :)

Love the kitties!! (the dogs too) but LOVE the kitties! Lilly and my George are keeping other company :) (miss that cat badly)

Have a good time this weekend. Be careful. Maybe it would be a good idea to keep him away from the alcohol. It's kinda' funny but also scary. Did he offer any explanation for his behavior??

Love you kids!
