"My Disney Experience" Free Apple iTunes App, August 2, 2012. Anyone else download it?

I just recently came into the modern age and bought a used Apple iPod iTouch 2nd Generation.

I am still playing around with it.

This is the first Walt Disney Would App that I have seen offered by the Disney Company.

It looks like now that Magic Kingdom, and soon the rest of the WDW Parks, is offering free WiFi service.

I think that I have heard that it looks a lot better on a larger iPad screen.

I can see Park Maps and Park Hours and Wait Times thus far.

I see that you can also make Dining Reservations, too.

I like some other Apps that I have bought also.

Any tips from those more experienced than myself?

How does it compare to the other Disney Apps as far as Maps and Wait Times and Information in general that might help while planning and at the parks?

I don't know if it is allowed, but here is a basic link to a page about the "My Disney Experience" Free Apple iTunes App below:

So far it looks really cool. It seems to have a lot of features for pre planning as well as when you are at the park. It looks like it has a located and if your using an iPad or iPod touch or phone it can be your gps in the park. Super cool app if it does glitch up when everyone starts to get it.

I wonder what people's experiences are recently in the park using the inpark WiFi with other Apps as far as being too slow or normal speed or dropout of service?

It is a nice looking app. I couldn't get Mobile Magic on my iPod touch 4g, but I can download this one. Cool.;)

I actually might use this one, and it's fun to just explore Disney!

I know what you mean. I was so happy to see that the download limit was software 4.1.1 and my iPod Touch 2nd generation software maximum limit is 4.2.1

A lot of the software is now 5.0 and higher when I look for other Apps to download.

Has anyone checked it out that already has Mobile Magic? Just wondering if it's worth having both or if it's too repetitive.....or an app for those who weren't able to get Mobile Magic?

TIA!

It's appsolutely ;) amazing on the new iPad. I might just have to take it with me into the parks.

1. This is the first Walt Disney Would App that I have seen offered by the Disney Company.

2. I can see Park Maps and Park Hours and Wait Times thus far.

3. How does it compare to the other Disney Apps as far as Maps and Wait Times and Information in general that might help while planning and at the parks?

1. No Mobile Magic has been out for a few years.

2. Do you see wait times for all the parks. In Mobile Magic, you could only see actual wait times for a park if you were in that park.

3. If its just like Mobile Magic you will see the actual times that are posted at the park. As for how accurate those are that's another thread.

So happy with these improvements. When I was in WDW in March, both DH and I had Blackberries and couldn't use Mobile Magic. I do have an iPod touch, however, so will be able to take advantage in October :)

I downloaded it last night - it looks awesome on the iPad and I can't wait to use the app in October! If I didn't have all my ADR's already made, it would be so simple to use the app for this. I was looking up ADR times last night with the app ans scheduling a meal is a snap!

The maps are awesome, too. I think a first-timer would find the app extremely useful.

It does show ride standby and FP times even when using it from home (in MI).

It is a little slow on my iPod touch (3rd gen). That is the only negative so far that I see. Other than that, this is a great, and I hope the wifi works well in the parks. I know MK is the only park-wide wifi right now, but I'm really hoping other parks are too by the end pf Sept.

I tried to download it and in a bit of a turn about, its not available for androids yet. :sad2:

Mobile Magic was available for months or even a year before it came to the dark side ....... er iphone. ;)

Slow? it is even slower then that. I wondered if it is because many people are tying to access it .
it also is asking me to sign in or create a name so I try to create one and it tells me that email address is already in use.

I like the park maps, too. I also like the resort maps, which I don't think mobile magic has. I guess it won't matter since this new app is supposed to be taking the place of mobile magic. :)

It seems to run a little slower for me than Mobile Magic did, I have a 3GS though.

Yeah, it is slow. I hope it gets better.

You sign in with the same email address and password you use for your current disney account (assuming you have one). That's what I did and it worked great for me.

Thanks for posting! Just downloaded it. I like the map on it a lot better then on other similiar apps.
