My Disney Experience - FIX IT!!!!!!

If our airfare were refundable I would can my trip.
I knew FP+ was buggy from trips during testing. We just used legacy FP.

Yup - Us too. We rented DVC points and it would be almost impossible to get our money back. When we booked, they still had the GAC which we need and FP legacy was at least still in play. No way would I have booked this trip if I had known what was coming.

Of course, as soon as all the details about FP+ were released, I saw THIS part coming a mile away, just as most everyone else did.
 
I don't think Disney understands what beta testing is. When you beta test something, you do so to a handful of your clients who volunteer to be testers. However, you don't do away with the old system until the beta testing is complete. Maybe someone should explain that to Mr. Iger.
 
I just jumped on MDE to see what all the chatter was about. I don't have any upcoming vacations, so I tried to book some FP+ for this Saturday (I wouldn't actually make the selections, don't want to take away from anybody). First problem is I couldn't choose any of my family to make FP+ with. It said "we are unable to fully complete your request due to system challenges. Please try your request later". :rotfl:

Anyways, it looks like I could complete it just for myself.

Everything else seems to work. I also see that the Magic Band I lost on the last day of our trip is now showing in MDE as "Lost".
 

I can't believe I'm joining in the FP+ complaint department. We were at FW for two weeks at Christmas and had no problems with our FPs. We are leaving Sunday for a week, we are AP holders, and I have all of our FPs planned. I know I booked them right for 5 people for each ride. Now when I go to check on MDE or online some rides say I have FP for 4 people, some say 3 people, some say 2 people. On my phone says one number while the computer says another. I KNOW it's done right and I have faith that when we walk up to the que it will be right, it would just be a little comforting if it was showing up right. Is that too much to ask?

My advice would be not to mess with it. I've had a recurrence of some previously resolved issues appear back in my MDE accounts today. I have two. Everything is up and running and the errors have corrected on the one. The other one says it can't retrieve my reservation and has four MB's for two of us but says we are not eligible for them :rolleyes1 This is similar to what happened on the other account but that one has come right now and seems to be functioning normally. I know it's a pain but it may be worth waiting a few hours and not touch anything just yet.

It is frustrating though!!

I get what you're saying, but remember you're a planner -- you did it all right and it's probably ok. Take a deep breath and close the MDE tab.

Since it's supposedly better to get less of something than before, maybe Disney should cut a new commercial:

2 incredible theme parks......1 amazing water park......5 spectacular resort hotels!!!
 
Well, the bad news is, Disney still hasn't added our 6th family member to MDE, even though they said it would be taken care of by 10:00 this morning. The good news is, they changed the color of my wrist band even though I didn't ask for them to. At least I know they've been on my page. Progress!!!!

Just called, again....Another 12 minute wait time. How much time do I have to waste with this crap until they fix it???? Seriously, does the system suck so badly that they can't do something as simple as adding 1 person to our travel party????

DISNEY - GET YOUR IT PEOPLE OFF THE COMMODORE 64, GET THEM A COMPUTER MADE POST 1987, AND FIX MY STUPID RESERVATION THAT YOU ARE FORCING ME TO DEAL WITH!!!!

The truth is we didn't always use 3 per day when it was FP-. We used them when we thought we needed them. But with what I experienced with FP+ last month, I think I need at least 3 per day. But if they give out 4 per day, I think the SB line will be stopped so much that they'll never get to ride on busy days. So the limits are essential to the system working at all.

Don't assume that I like it -- I'm just trying to deal with it. I can't see them ever bringing back the old system.

:rotfl: Last month mine changed too and when I tried to change it to what I had chosen, instead of what the system decided I should have chosen, it flagged up a message saying I was not eligible for Magic bands. Even though my account had given me two more bands than the number of people on my res. Urgh! Disney is making my head hurt this year.

See....this is the type of image I see in my head whenever people refer to WDW 'magic'.....really, I do.

As someone dear to me stated when talking about a "maybe" WDW trip next year, and discussing these changes....."There's nothing "magical" about this ****! The only thing "magical" is that they are successfully taking more of your money, giving you less, and convincing you that you are getting more.....That part IS "magical!"
 
This afternoon the website (I gave up on the App much earlier) was trying to convince me that I didn't know my kids' ages. It had them listed a year younger than they actually are, which I thought was weird because I had previously added their birthdays in MDE for our last trip.

Sure enough, when I clicked on their details, their birthdays were listed as "don't know." So I edited and saved their birthdays again. But it kept changing back to "don't know" each time I would go to a different page and return.

Good times, lol.

I mean...I know it's just a little thing, but for Pete's sake. They can't even make something so simple work on their monstrosity of a website?!?! Nice.

I hear ya! Quite frankly, they probably would have had a monstrosity of a success with a simple website instead of the other way round.

What I have learnt when things show up strangely (or disappear) in my MDE accounts is not to touch them. I leave them a day or two and if they are still not right then I call. I had 'issues' on mine today but they seem to have sorted themselves out over the last 6 hours, slowly, but surely.
 
I am leaving my account alone. When I checked this morning the number of passes would not be right until I went in and out of the page a few times...at this point I have screen shots of EVERYTHING and am just hoping that if the band does not work the picture will do.

Oh I'm so glad this has happened to someone else with the ages. MDE suddenly changed DGrD back to 9 - she was 10 on MDE in Nov and has been going to WDW with me since she was 5 mos old and they have been tracking her age since then. The problem showed up for me several weeks ago when I made our ADR for Hoop de doo review thru MDE and it booked her as a child:( Now I would gladly pay the 'child' price for her, but she actually looks about 14 size wise and will be celebrating her 11th b'day that trip. So, yet another call to IT? I now have 3 issues that need IT help and I'm putting it off, hoping it may correct itself before our Aug trip. DGrD's wrong age, names of family coming up incorrectly under my reservation, and now two resort reservations have totally disappeared. Ugh!!
 
Is there a way to check if everything is on the MB when we check in? So we dun encounter troubles in the parks or restaurants :confused3
