My Disney Diet up in smoke! .....Updated with Ohana!

Cathy brought around the meat skewers of steak, pork, turkey and shrimp.

All of these were really good but the shrimp are my favorite for sure. They are huge! They're messy being the peel and eat style, but they are very good and worth the work!

You can see some of the other meats on my plate here, I didn't take pics of all the different skewers.

If you followed along on my Kona review, you may remember that my neice Caitlin eats 3 foods, and Piper only eats chicken, so luckily Cathy hooked us up with this

When she brought it out, there was a load of chicken nuggets and a ton of fries on it, which the little ones gobbled up. In case you've never been, you can get other children's food such as the nuggets, fries, mac and cheese etc. but it needs to be ordered by requesting it from your server. If you are going to do so, I would recommend you do so right away as one trip we waited forever for this to show up. Luckily that night it came right out quickly.

I really love the way Ohana's keeps the kids entertained as well. The girls had fun doing coconut broom races......

And now my absolute, hands down, favorite desert on EARTH. I am not normally a huge desert person, I usually end up sharing with someone or skipping it, but not with this. O M G. The best bread pudding ever, with vanilla ice cream and the banana sauce. I just mentally ate a bowl of this as I typed this. We actually had seconds on this, it was THAT good.

Zoe gave it a big thumbs up too

Cathy brought out this for the kids.....their own vanilla ice cream with colored Mickey sprinkles. Piper looooved this, so did Caitlin and Lily!

Lastly, Cathy noticed we were celebrating Lily and Caitlin's first visit, so she brought out this

The total bill for the 5 of us came to $122.43, plus $49.81 OOP ($10.25 for the glowtini, $12.98 for the two tinkerbell punch, and gratuity. We used 5 deluxe dining credits, and charged the rest to the room as well as leaving a bit extra tip in cash.

Overall once again Ohana's was a favorite, and we were scheduled to eat there again at the end of our trip.

We finished the night off after a great meal with a stop at the gift shop for the girls to get a new "baby" as they call them, as well as an autograph book and pen for the morning. It was a perfect Disney night!

I'm joining in! Wow - your pictures are great! I see that your niece likes to eat cupcakes the same way as my DS2. We have ADR's for 'Ohana in a couple of weeks. It will be our first time there. The food looks wonderful! I hope we get Cathy as a server, too.

OMG, we ate at Ohana when we went in October of last year. Seeing your pictures and reading your description makes me want to get on a plane and eat there tonight!! That bread pudding is to die for, the best I've ever had anywhere.

I think it's great that they offer these options as we wouldn't be able to go there otherwise with such a picky little one! They were really good too, I "may" have snuck a fry or two

Give it another try, so far we have lucked out. I always get nervous with the mixed reviews but so far we have had great meals there!

Glad those are helpful, I decided this trip rather than write down the prices I would take a pic of our receipts. It worked out great! I think my DH thought I was nuts though, but he knows how I am by now with the pics

Hope you are hungry for some breakfast!

It's normally our tradition to have breakfast at Ohana's on the morning we leave, but since we were staying at the Polynesian this trip we decided to go our first day. It always seems to me that this breakfast is somewhat overlooked due to the not being in a park, but it is fabulous and I'm ok if it doesn't get more popular so I can always get a ressie

We were seated immediately for our 8:10am ADR. As you can see, Andy put on his familiar "bundle of joy" expression for the first photo of the day. Can't leave the room without it!

When you first sit down, they bring you the most amazing juice - I am not a big juice drinker, but this is wonderful. You can also get coffee, water, tea, soft drinks, etc.

They also give you baskets of cinnamin rolls which were really good. They were nice and moist, not dry at all. YUMMM!

Also to start is some wonderful fresh fruit. We especially love the pineapple and my girls always gobble up the grapes

Then they bring you skillets of scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage and biscuits.

The biscuits are ok, nothing special. The potatoes and bacon are really good. I am not a big fan of breakfast sausage, but Kirsty is from England, and she declared it "proper sausage" and gave it a big thumbs up

Next up are the scrambled eggs. I don't know what it is about them, but Andy has dubbed them the best scrambled eggs on earth. Moist without being runny, and really fluffy. We request seconds on the eggs, they are so good

Best of all the servers bring around fresh mickey waffles! I don't normally eat waffles, but mickey waffles are scrumptious!

Besides the great food, there are also parades

and characters

The big cheese himself is here, and was Lily's intro to characters. She wasn't feeling it but got a lot more comfortable with them as the trip went on

The first time the bill came out, the server forgot to split it out. We quickly got that fixed. Zach was still deep in dreamland, so we used 4 delux dining credits and had 121 remaining!

We jumped onto the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.....

thanks for the yummy update...and loving it. We never tried this character meal b/c my son is not into Lilo and Stictch and asked if he wanted to go and he said maybe another time. But the raisan bread looks really yummy and try it for our December trip (crossing my fingers but I have May trip to look forward to and adding Ohana dinner).
Can't wait to read more for the next yummy food...
