My Disney altered rolodex ***Cyber class info added - post #18

I'm in for this cyber class.. The Roledex is AWESOME! You are a creative genius!!

I was just asking DH what are we going to do tomorrow..and.. I find this thread. Now I know what *I'm* going to be doing tomorrow! :bounce:

Off to print the list and get my supplies.. :woohoo: Another shopping trip! I just got back from an hour at Jo's.. they had a major sale on embellishments (brads and the like) for 1.00! I came out with 2 bags full of things! Plus paper was on sale!!

I am SO excited about this, but I don't have time to do this until school is out! (darn job. . .must have it's paycheck to scrapbook! :rotfl2: ) I am going to follow along with the cyber class so I can figure it out then! :teeth: I want to make a Winnie-the-Pooh rolodex! :tigger:

That has to be one of the coolest things ever! I am so impressed with your imagination. :cheer2:

Hey guys -- don't make me blush! This is not my original idea and I cannot take credit for it. I've seen examples on 2Peas and Ebay. I just added my own style to it :)

Have you picked a date for this class yet?

I would love to be a part of it! I'm going away this weekend, starting Thursday, to attend the CK Convention in Nashville so I'm hoping that it's after that. :teeth:

Did I miss the directions somewhere? Thanks!!

just curious...what would the cost of that class be and does it include the roladex or just the alpha pages?
Thanks!

What a fabulous job! Please post the directions.....

My fav LSS closed and I have not found another one that has classes I care to attend.

Ok, this was too cute not to try so here is mine.

Disney Altered Rolodex

You will be making 6 rolodex index cards.

Have these items ready:
6 pieces of 4x6 cardstock: 2 in each color (we used yellow, white, and red)
6 pieces of 4x6 patterned paper: 1 in each pattern (okay to duplicate, as you wish!)
6-8 assorted lengths of ribbon, fiber, ric-rac (approx. 4 inches each)
1 sheet of decorative stickers
1 sheet alphabet stickers
2-3 decorative eyelets or brads

Tools needed:
Sharp-tip scissors, or blade/mat set
Scissors
Adhesive (stickier is better)
Inkpad
Die-cut punches (Mickey heads in assorted sizes)
Mickey Mouse themed rubber stamps
Chalk (optional)

Select your base cardstock for each card. Take one of the index cards provided with your rolodex and trace it onto your cardstock. Using sharp-tip scissors or a cutting blade and mat, cut out the 6 index cards.

You’ll be using a variety of techniques to embellish each index card. Feel free to mix and match these designs. The following instructions are based on the display sample:

Card #1:
• Trace index card onto patterned paper #1 and cut out.
• About halfway across, on the diagonal, make a straight cut.
• Adhere this piece on top of your cardstock base.
• Adhere 1 to 2 decorative stickers, rub-ons, or diecut/punchies.
• Take 2-3 small pieces of ribbon, fold in half at a slight angle, and staple to right outside edge of card on top. Leave a tiny bit over the edge.
• Take a length of fiber and adhere across width of card, about 1/3 of the way down from the top.
• Take 2 Mickey head punches and adhere to the top edge, over the index tab. They will overlap slightly at an angle.
• Take your alphabet stickers and adhere E-H on top of the Mickey head punches.
• Using your inkpad, brush lightly over the top edges of the Mickey ears, and all along exposed edges of the card.

Card #3:
• Cut a 1 inch tall strip of patterned paper.
• Adhere this piece across the width of your cardstock base, about in the middle of the card. Trim the edges as needed.
• Over the top seam between patterned paper and cardstock, adhere a length of ric-rac.
• Trim the ends of the ribbon.
• Adhere 1 to 2 decorative stickers, rub-ons, or diecut/punchies.
• Take 1-2 small pieces of ribbon, fold in half at a slight angle, and staple to left outside edge of card. Leave a tiny bit over the edge.
• Take 2 Mickey head punches and adhere to the top edge, over the index tab. They will overlap slightly at an angle.
• Take your alphabet stickers and adhere I-L on top of the Mickey head punches.
• Using your inkpad, brush lightly over the top edges of the Mickey ears, and all along exposed edges of the card.

Card #4:
• Cut out two pieces of patterned paper #4, about 1 1/2 inches wide each, and 2 1/2 inches tall.
• Adhere these two pieces to the right and left sides of the cardstock, leaving a vertical strip of cardstock showing, about 1 inch wide down the middle. Trim edges.
• On a diagonal, adhere contrasting ribbon.
• Trim the ends of the ribbon.
• Adhere 1 to 2 decorative stickers, rub-ons, or diecut/punchies.
• Take 1 piece of ribbon, fold in half at a slight angle, and staple to top edge of card. Leave a tiny bit over the edge.
• Take 2 Mickey head punches and adhere to the top edge, over the index tab. They will overlap slightly at an angle.
• Take your alphabet stickers and adhere M-P on top of the Mickey head punches.
• Using your inkpad, brush lightly over the top edges of the Mickey ears, and all along exposed edges of the card.

Card #5:
• Trace index card onto patterned paper #5 and cut out.
• On a diagonal, trim off the lower left corner of the paper.
• Adhere this piece on top of your cardstock base. You’ll see a corner of your cardstock peeking through.
• Stamp Mickey Mouse images over top of patterned paper in contrasting ink.
• Adhere a sticker, rub-on, or diecut/punchie in the empty corner.
• Take 1-2 small pieces of ribbon, fold in half at a slight angle, and staple to top left edge of card. Leave a tiny bit over the edge.
• Take 2 Mickey head punches and adhere to the top edge, over the index tab. They will overlap slightly at an angle.
• Take your alphabet stickers and adhere O-T on top of the Mickey head punches.
• Using your inkpad, brush lightly over the top edges of the Mickey ears, and all along exposed edges of the card.

Card #6:
• Trace index card onto patterned paper #6 and cut out.
• Tear down the middle, lengthwise. Ink or chalk the torn edge, if desired.
• Adhere this piece on top of your cardstock base.
• Adhere ribbon on the right side, vertically. Trim ends.
• Punch holes for eyelets or brads along the length of ribbon.
• Insert and set brads or eyelets.
• Adhere 1 to 2 decorative stickers, rub-ons, or diecut/punchies.
• Take 1 small pieces of ribbon, fold in half at a slight angle, and staple to left outside edge of card. Leave a tiny bit over the edge.
• Take 2 Mickey head punches and adhere to the top edge, over the index tab. They will overlap slightly at an angle.
• Take your alphabet stickers and adhere U-Z on top of the Mickey head punches.
• Using your inkpad, brush lightly over the top edges of the Mickey ears, and all along exposed edges of the card.
