which restaurant do you recommend for taste and atmosphere? My dh and I will be at WDW for his 40th birthday and our 10 year anniversary. It will be just the 2 of us. :love2: I hope it is not to late to get ADR's we are going over Labor Day weekend.

Yachtsman Steakhouse!

The food is wonderful as is the sevice. The atmosphere is very nice without being stuffy. We go there on almost every trip. I have never had a bad steak there. The bread and roasted garlic they serve is just great. I have to stop eating it to save room for the rest of the yummy meal. :)

Some may recommend Le Cellier, but it is just too crowded and noisy for us. The tables are very close together and the service spotty.

They also have wonderful steak at Flying Fish, Artist Point, Jiko and Spoodles.

Here a pic of the cake and card they served me at the Yachtsman Steakhouse on my birthday. I told Disney Dining it was my bday when I made the ADR.

We like LeCellier, but I wouldn't recommend it for a special celebration. The food is good, but especially with the DDP (and you will be there on free DDP), it is crowded and noisy--lots of kids. We also had wonderful steak at Les Chefs de France, but it has the same issues.

We did not care for Concourse, but different people have different tastes.

Yachtsman doesn't have the reputation of California Grill and doesn't have the view of the fireworks, but it is totally fantastic. It tends to be more of an adult place. It does have great food and great service.

I would recommend either the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort or Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian. The Yachtsman Steakhouse has wonderful steaks and a very nice atmosphere, Narcoosee's has great steak and seafood along with a beautiful view of the Magic Kingdom's fireworks if you time it correctly! Both of them are considered Signature Restaurants and are a little more upscale with a Business Casual dress code. Have fun choosing! Oh and Happy Birthday to your DH and Happy Anniversary to both of you! Be sure to tell the CM when you call to make your ADR about both the birthday and anniversary so they can note it on your reservation. Enjoy!

Here's another vote for the Yachtsman Steakhouse. We went there on our last trip and when we started planning our upcoming December trip, DH's one request was to return to Yachtsman's.....which we are going to do on Christmas Eve.

Wishing a wonderful birthday and anniversary.

Grand Floridian Cafe is very nice. Not to formal, but very pretty and the food is great too. We are steak eaters too and this was the beast steak I have ever had. They also have a bakery in the Grand Floridian where you can order special desserts.

Happy Birthday and Anniversary!

My wife and I are not huge football fans, but we go to Shula's in the Dolphin every trip we can. The porterhouse is great, if your husband loves football it's an even bigger treat for him... but the atmosphere is a dark, quiet, wood-on-the-walls steakhouse. It's not a sports bar.

Also LOVE the chocolate souffle!

Another vote for Yachtsman Steakhouse. We've always had great service (ask for Oscar as your server) and great food.

My boyfriend and I are also spending labor day week at WDW. He is also a huge steak eat and I want to surprise him with a nice dinner. Does the Coral Reef have steak dinners? If not Im thinking of yatchmans or narcoosees :bounce:

I love LeCellier, but for a more special evening I agree that Yachtsman is more dignified (and quieter!)

I thought everything from appetizer to dessert sampler was delicious.

Is It Easy To See The Fireworks Afterwards? Whats The Easiest Way To See Them After Dinner?

Thanks for all the replies. I think I might try to get an ADR for the Yachtsman Steakhouse if they have an opening. :goodvibes

I just ate at Yachtsman for my 40th b-day over memorial day weekend. We will also be there laborday weekend and just got an ADR for Yachtsman. We really enjoyed it. It was truly special and make sure you mention it is his 40th when making your adr and then again when u arrive. The CM's were so nice from the hostess to the server in making sure they said happy birthday. It really was great steak, better than LeCellier and that is one of our favorite restaurants. Have a great trip!

My steak loving husband rates the steak he had at the Coral Reef as the best he's had at the world.

I'm a vegetarian, so I take his word LOL.

I gotta go with Shula's, one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Although Yachtsman is much better then overrated LeCellier.

Shulas has the best overall steak we have found yet. The filet at Blue Zoo was incredible, but I think that's the only one on the menu.

Will be trying Flying Fish next trip.

Yachtsman is often mentioned on these boards, but we have yet to go there.
