I was talking to my DH 2night and I mentioned how a lot of the DISers go to disney once, twice or maybe even 3 times a year and I told him I wish we could go every year. And you know what he said..."Why? There are others things to do in the states besides Disney." I was like WHAT! Im thinking I dont understand what you just said. What are these other places u speak of? LOL. I know hes thinking of like kings dominion and busch gardens, but those parks are OK. Disney is SO much funnier! I mean Disney is always changing. I wanted to ask him if he was insane but didnt, LOL! What is wrong with him? Believe me I wish I had the money to go every year. Because I would be like hunny Im going to disney with or without u. Whats it gonna be? Gurantee he will go, LOL!!

:thumbsup2

I think we're gonna make WDW an annual trip too! :woohoo:

I wish we could more than once a year, heck, I wish we could go once a year! :thumbsup2 My DS is already saying it will probably be the only time I ever go to WDW and he is 9! :rotfl: Disneyland now that is more doable for us.

My DH also agrees there are other vacations to take, but they do not all involve a theme park. For example, we went to Mt. Rushmore, Grand Canyon, etc. My brothers go 2-3 times a year, but as you can see we go every couple of years at best. I do wish we could go more often, but even my DD said "There's more to life than Disney" :scared1: Have I failed as a Disney mom to invoke such a statement??? :rotfl2:

Them's Fight'n Words!!! I would argue the World Showcase at Epcot is practically the same as taking a trip around the world!

Man I 'm so lucky DW just trust me to make all the arraingments for our trips .

I told her on the last one I was taking her to Italy adn thats just where we went to see it at Epcot :lmao:

We're hitting Norway for X-mas and I'd love to get a small trip to the U.K. for Holloween. :rotfl2:

She gets it and DD loves Disney and thats all that really matters.

We will save the other parks ( KD, Hershey , 6flags) for day trips or weekends as well as the beach.

I just think you get more bang for your buck at Disney.

I couldnt agree more! How often can you hop from one country to the next all in one day with no passport, LOL.

My DH and I go every year in Feb and we love it. However this last month DH did say to me maybe we could see the Redwoods or Montana sometime also. I mentioned to Dh that might be blasphemy. HA! No I don't have a problem going to other places as long as we keep our yearly trip to Mickey land! There is just something different at WDW but than you already know that! People don't understand our "addiction" to the WDW but we tell them just go once and you will understand. Enjoy!

Thank God I have a DH that would never say that. Disney is an addiction for both of us and at least 2 of our 3 DD's(I'm trying to find an exorcist who'll get rid of our oldest DD's SeaWorld and Cedar Point "demons"....it's a horrible sickness)....

And who needs to visit those historical places all across our great land...I mean..our kids have learned enough about them in school, doncha know??! I can take my kids to Epcot and they can learn about several different countries, all about communication, the land, the sea, energy...not cussing at people who cut in line, patience, spending money, not cussing at people who cut in line..... :goodvibes

We just cannot bring ourselves to spend a week anyplace but WDW.... :)

Ok, I have seasons passes to Busch Gardens/Water Country and trust me they just don't compare. Don't get me wrong I love going to BG but Disney is soooooooo much better. Just the cleanliness of Disney compared to BG makes them on 2 different levels. Disney is a place of magic, BG is called the Old Country and full of the same countries that you can visit at Epcot. I am so lucky that my DH definitely sees the difference. We can't go to Disney as often as some other folks do, but when we go we go all out. We stay at a Deluxe resort because we chose to. We could go Value, but that is just not comfortable for our family, so we pay more and therefore go less. But when we do go, we make the best of it.

LOL, I had this same conversation with my DH. Except the children and I won. I drilled in my DD2's head I want to go to Disney World since she learned to talk. That's how I go this year's trip. But DH did agree to go to WDW every year, as long as he can pick a week somewhere else as well. So I have to deal with only a week at the world, but I can deal lol.

I can't imagine anyone saying "why"! Has the earth turned upside down?

I just spent a couple of days in Hershey just to get myself prepared for walking and taking 3 boys, ages 11, 8 and 2 to the parks in Disney. I had to do something to pass the time this summer in anticipation for Disney in April. My hubby is the same way, he could care less if we ever went to Disney again. :sad2: I don't know what is wrong with him. You would think some of my over excitedness would rub off a bit on him but no. I will just have to have enough for all 5 of us. DS8 is with me on this, he was so excited that I book our flights last night. At least I have someone on my side.

This is so funny because last year when my husband & I were planning our first trip to WDW together he couldn't understand why I was so excited about going. I was raised a Disney kid & we went 2-3 times every year. Anyways, he wasn't that excited for the trip even up to the time we were flying to Florida. After we got back from the trip he immediately started planning our trip for this year & decided that we should make it an annual vacation. I'm so glad he has converted to being a Disney fan, I couldn't imagine not going once every year. :)

My DH loves Disney world to, its his fav place along with mine, he just thinks theres more to do. True and dont get me wrong I like other amusment parks, but I would LOVE to be able to go to disney once a year. It would be the only place we could go though, lol. Because it would be the only place we could afford. We are to far from other amusment parks to make a day trip so we always make a weekend thing and we are lucky if we come out under $500. Now once we get all our stupid loans and credit cards paid off, wellllllllll DIFFERENT STORY THERE, LOL. :rotfl: There should be NO excuese why we cant do disney every yr and another weekend getaway somewhere he would wanna go. And if he still says no, I will :furious: him, lol. He might make the money, but who deals with the money? ME! :lmao:

No offense to Busch Garden lovers out there but I just went there in January and it is something that I would NEVER go to again. I would skip out on it and let your husband know the same.

I agree about Busch Gardens. I took my DD there last May and will never go again. I was very very disappointed. I liked the Lions but really that is about it!

Since I heard Jan and Lions you all are talking about the one in FL. Never been to one in FL before. I love the the one in Williamsburg, VA. but of course not as much as Disney. If I had the choice to go to B.G. in VA and Disney every other yr for 10 yrs or just do Disney for 10 yrs straight, yea I would defiantly do Disney 10 yrs straight. Theres only so much you can see and do at B.G. that you dont wanna go every yr and maybe every other yr or every 2 yrs so you dont burn yourself out. Disney however, theres always something going on. Seems like theres some celebration going on every yr and so far I've missed them all excpet for the Millennium celebration and 100 yrs. So of course Im extra excited about going to disney during the a year of a million dreams. I wanted to do disney during this celebration but with money and DH getting deployed, it was impossible. I mean I would love to experience Disney for halloween, thanksgiving, xmas and new years. And who knows maybe I can eventually. I mean its not like it really not doable because it is, just as long as DH gets the leave time :thumbsup2
