They grow on you. When I got my first pair I was very embarrassed in them and I felt the need to tell everyone I saw, "Aren't these the ugliest shoes in the world? But they are just SO comfortable! I have really bad shin spints and blah blah blah....." Now I have 2 pairs, and I have asked for a new pair for every gift giving occasion. I wear them EVERY where I go, with shorts, with jeans, with socks(only with jeans and only with my cute monkey/bear(don't know what it is ) socks) and now I'll even wear them to church with my jean skirt. I just don't care anymore and I actually think they are cute....in a weird clunky way.

You know, everybody is showing them in the really wild colors, but they do come in black, navy, khaki.

I have a pair of clogs in black...they look just like any other pair of clogs. I am waiting for a khaki pair to come as we speak.

Yeh, but then you don't have an excuse to buy more so you've got some for every outfit. Just kidding - I've got a black pair too. But I do find myself wearing the colors more often.

Ugly or not they are the most comfortable shoes I have even worn. I have arthritis and fibromyalgia and it was very painful to walk even a few feet. Well in my crocs I can walk comfortably in the classroom and enjoy working with the kids. I still can't walk long distances but that is another issue.

I even wear them to church when I interpret. I can't imagine standing for an hour and a half in any other shoes. I normally wear my black or khaki ones if I am interpreting but I have pearl, emerald, lime green and purple as well.

Aaahhh, so where do I put in my application for support person to buy these things?! I have a $15 off the local shoe store which would make buying them a bit more easier to swallow if only they wore not so ugly!

Probably heresy, but I think both my Mephisto sandals and my Tevas are more comfortable (and much more attractive) But, hey, I wore jelly shoes as a girl so I am no one to talk about the ugliness of shoes

Well, I've read about the Crocs over and over on these boards but just could not bring myself to buy the clogs, because they are so ugly.

After hearing about the Niles, I bought a new pair on ebay today for $26.99 (including shipping). They may not be beautiful, but they sure beat the clogs. I'm crossing my fingers that I'm going to love them!

Believe me, you people don't know ugly shoes! *I* have some UGLY shoes called "Theme Park Sandals" that I purchased from Easy Spirit last year. When the salesperson suggested them to me, I flinched and told her there was no way I'd consider something so hideous. She assured me if I wanted comfort I'd never find anything better. She begged me to at least try them on. I gave in and the rest is history. I looked online for another pair but they're no longer offered. Now, these Crocs just may be the thing. Going to Dillards tomorrow to take a look at these (compared to mine) cute shoes. Made a note to check out Mephisto and Tevas, too.

I wear Birkenstocks & they are ugly. I have also gone to the store,tried them on & could not bring myself to do it.

I have a June trip to WDW & I need shoes I can wear in the rain.

I like the Jibbitz but they jsut draw more attentiorn to the ugliness of the shoes.
I might consider them if I could find a normal color to wear with shorts this summer.

Why are these plastic shoes so comfortable?? Can someone explain? They are so incredibly ugly that everytime I look at them in Dillard's I shrink away. If I thought they were really that magical I'd bite the bullet and buy them since standing most of the day teaching is very tiring. Of course these 4th and 5th graders will have a field day laughing at my feet, I am sure.
