My daughter must leave me again today to head back to college. I have empty nest so bad. I only have one child. I am happy for her, but mkss her so. She only has one month of school left, but it feels like a lifetime. I am going to try and focus on our Disney Trip in May. Anyone else have a child heading back?

No, but I have 3 that you can borrow at any time. Life isn't fair is it? You want your daughter back in the nest and I would love to have one day in my nest by myself!

My SIL is suffering the same thing. She has 4 all away at school, and has a bad case of empty nest as well! As one who has been through it, believe me when I tell you the feeling will one day pass, and you wont miss them being around all the time. In fact, you might even welcome the new life. Hard to believe now, but we enjoy our adult "kids" returning for a day or two, but are just as happy when they return to their own homes!

I know how you feel. My daughter was home from college for Easter weekend, and headed back yesterday afternoon. She will retrun in a month, also, and we are looking forward to a family vacation to The Bahamas the day after she returns home from college. I miss her when she is not here!

However, I do have a 13 year old, but she also misses her big sister when she isn't here. The 13 year old starts track and field today. I usually pick her up at school every day at 2pm, but now I won't get her until 4pm, due to practice. And, my husband is out of town on business. It's going to be a ling day!:(

oop! I mean- LONG day!

I'm sorry. It seems we can't wait until we get some peace and quiet, until we get the peace and quiet, then we want the kids back. :)

I'll ditto another reply...I have 2 I can give you on temporary loan! DD is 9 and if you have ever craved a son I have a 6 y.o. Most of the time they behave, but you know every now and then...

We are getting our electrical updated (fuses to circuits) and some other work done today so they will really be crawling the walls with no tv, radio, computer, etc. At least they have their GameBoys.

God give me strength to make it through this week........

i hated my college first semester so i dreaded going back...now im living home so dont have to worry,,,my bro will go away net year

I sure can relate! I was miserable when both of my DSs were at college. The oldest is graduated and lives 15 minutes away. Younger DS surprised me and came home over the weekend. He's been under a lot of stress lately so it was good to see him! I used to cry every time either of them left here - but not any more. In fact, it can get stressful having them around! It gets better - I promise. No one suffered more from "empty nest" than me!

If it makes you feel any better, I just landed and I'm back in my dorm room, and I can't WAIT for these last two weeks to be up so I can return home!

Three days at home was just not enough. :( As much as you miss your kids, we've got the final stretch full of papers and projects and finals (oh my), so we're suffering too, lol.

My son is headed back tomorrow - he came home Thursday night for Easter break, and he has one month of school left. My daughter was on a school trip for all of her spring break (high school) so I was home alone for a week (well, except for our two puppies). I cleaned the house from top to bottom! My son will be home for two months and will then do a semester abroad. It's great to have him home, and I was thrilled to see my daughter's plane land!

My DS didn't come home for Easter since he is coming home next weekend for the 3 day weekend (in Mass we have Patriot's Day.) We missed him! We do have a younger DS at home but it still isn't the same without our older DS here. I dread the day younger DS goes off to college. And Dh is worse than I am!
