My DD Broke Her Arm

Hi

I had a call today at lunch to say Casey had fell over and hurt her arm and she is in a lot of pain. She is 6 and to be 7 on the 18th Dec.

My mil had the boys and took Casey to our local minor unit. She broke both the bones in her left arm the ulnar and ther radius. The break is completely broke across the bone end to end. She is in a lot of pain bless her. I really feel for her. She has her arm in plaster and has an fracture clinic on the 22nd Nov, which is not long away. They will check to see the plaster is doing well and how she is. I expect she will be in plaster for about 5 weeks.

The only prob its her brothers birthday on Saturday and we are going to Brewesters Fayre where they have an indoor play area. Unfortunately she can not play. She can not play outside for games or break time at school. Its highly possible her arm wont of heeled in time for her birthday on the 18th Dec.

She is sitting in the living room at the moment in pain. She has had paracetomol and ibrprofen, but she is still in pain.

Aw, I have never broken a bone and can't imagine the pain, expecially for a little girl

You'll have to tell her she special.. and that everyone can sign her cast for her birthday!! A momento that is very rare!!

Hi

Thanks for your kind words. She was up late last night in pain. She is off school today bless her. They put her arm in a back slab plaster cast. Its half of a cast to allow for the swelling. Unfortunately we can not sign this one. On the 22nd Nov she goes back to the fracture clinic to have a full cast put on. We can sign and colour it then. The school said that she can go out and play with others when she has a full cast on. Poor Casey is going to school tomorrow, but will have to stay in.

Rachel, I will be thinking of your son on the 18th.

I hope her arm is out of cast then. She really wants to go ice skating. Do I trust taking Casey now that she has broken her arm
