Just heard from MAW and we are planning a wonderful trip for my 4 1/2 year old. Thinking of going the very end of Oct or beginning of Nov.

We are all so excited and it sounds like it is going to be magic for her!!!! She can't stop talking about it.

Piglet, that is wonderful news!! I am very happy for your family!!!! I hope everything goes well for you all. How nice to have something wonderful to look forward to for the next few months!!!

We are definetely looking forward to this. But the really funny thing is that yesterday we got a postcard in the mail from DW that had a special rate on it for July until the 1st of Oct and on the front was Minnie and Mickey saying "Wish You Were Here" My daughter about went crazy, she thought they were sending her a card telling her they can't wait to see her. Which I guess they are so I didn't tell her any different.

It is going to be a long 6 months!!!!

How awesome! A special invitation!;)

I hope you've been finding ideas these boards on how to make the time pass more quickly until you leave! The waiting is always hard!

Have fun!:bounce:

PIGLET, I am thrilled from your family! As you know, we went to WDW in 1998 thru GKTW and MAW when our dd was 4.5 years old too! She is now 7 years old and we just got back from her second trip in April 2001!

GKTW is totally awesome ~ they think of everything! AND I hear it's even BETTER now than when we went!

You will LOVE the GAC!

AND make sure dd wears her GKTW PIN! She'll get the ROYAL TREATMENT with the pin. Our dd got was included in EVERY show and the characters pay EXTRA special attention to dd!

SIX MONTHS! That's a great amount of time to start dreaming! Watch lots of Disney movies and visit the Disney Store to get ready!

BRING A TON OF FILM! IN 1998 we took 8 rolls of film and 2.5 hours of video tape. This past April we took 11 rolls of film and 4.5 hours of video tape!

How exciting for you all!
From what I have heard, I don't think there is much difference between late October and early November, so I'm sure either will be just fine.
Let us know if we can help you plan.

PS. Let your DD keep thinking that Mickey and Minnie are wishing she was there. I'm sure they are.

Wow...I am so happy that your daughter is getting a trip to WDW...that is so wonderful...I hope it is very magical for your family and after reading other trip reports about MAW and GKTW I know it will be...
Don't forget to write a trip report when you get back....

Have a magical day:bounce: :bounce:

The "Wish Makers" just left and they are going to try and set something up for the week of Oct 29 or Nov 5 or Nov 12.

We were there 2 years ago the first week of Nov, but my daughter ended up in the hospital and we only spent 2 days in Disney World. So she didn't get to do much.

I am sure I will need lots of help in planning and what not to miss. Look for lots of questions in the next 6 months.

Have a great time!!!! We have also had the pleasure of a wish trip, and the time just flew by!

By working with the people on the DIS you will be one prepared Wish Family. They also have people there with tips. One of our favorite days was the day we spent at Universal! (Dr. Suess world is GREAT!)

Everyone in our family is very happy for you!
Sue

Hey Sue,

I didn't realize they give you tickets to Universal, also. It is getting more and more exciting.

Does anyone know if they can provide special meals at GKTW? My daughter is on a restricted diet. No milk, sugar, fruits or juices.

Thanks again.

Melinda

Piglet, I am quite certain that they will accomodate your daughter's dietary restrictions not only at GKTW, but at the restaurants at the parks adn resorts as well, with advance notice. :) :) :).

Sue --

Thanks for the link to GKTW. I don't have any personal need for their services, but I am considering making a donation of videos, toys, etc.

I have a question. WE bought 3 Adult AP's because it was cheaper for us. But I don't think we will get back to WDW to finish using them, they are good till 3/23/2002. Could they be donated for use by a GKTW or MAW family?? Would WDW allow that??

Tink --

I haven't heard back from GKTW, so I'm going to call over there today about making a donation (I have a ton of Disney Beanie Babies that I want to donate!). I will ask them your question as well and let you know.
